Cosmetic-plastic window covering for automobile

Abstract

A very thin, flexible and light weight transparent plastic that replaces a broken side and/or rear window for temporary use or pleasure. This durable and clear plastic can keep cold air and rain out of the interior of the car, and when needed, it keeps heat and air conditioning inside of the vehicle. Its primary design is to prevent easy access to automobiles with broken or damaged windows. This strong, but durable transparent plastic covering fits snug and tight into the creases of the vehicle's window frame. A strong, clear adhesive is used to help support the plastic window covering, in order to keep it securely in place. The plastic window covering is also called a Cosmetic window covering, because it can be used fashionably, as well as a necessity. The window covering can be used various shades of tinted colors, for the purpose of fashion, privacy and style. Perforations are included into the outer perimeters of the Cosmetic window covering, in order to reduce the size, in order to fit other makes and models of automobile door window frames.

Description

BACK GROUND OF INVENTION

[0001] While efforts have been made henceforth to provide an alternative to the high cost it takes to repair a broken side and/or rear automobile windows, this invention is intended to be very cost effective, for temporary use, stylish and fashionable. The idea was primarily to invent something that would look more attractive and natural than using a plastic trash bag or like plastic material to cover-up a broken car window, be less messy and masking tape free, and to help make a vehicle less vulnerable to burglary and theft. I too was once subject to having a problem with the electrical power unit to my vehicle. The power to my driver-side window would not and as a result, I could not raise my window. Because I could not afford to pay the high cost of getting the electrical problem fixed, I was left with no other alternative but to cover my driver-side window with the dreaded plastic trash bag and the use of a lot of masking tape.

[0002] Now with my new invention—people that will experience problems with a broken or electrical malfunctions with their automobile's side-door windows or rear window, can enjoy the use of a lightweight, portable, temporary and reusable plastic window covering. The reason I call it the Cosmetic-Plastic Window Covering for Automobile is because it can also be used for style, fashion and privacy. With this new product, you also have the option and convenience of using tented color plastic coverings for privacy and style. At any time of the season or for any personal reason, you can be fashionable, but more importantly, safe and just as secure as having your original window in place. My new product can easily be used on practically all makes and models of the various types of automobiles—it can also be used on pick-up trucks and sports utility vehicles (SUV).

BRIEF SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

[0003] Research of issued patents, literature, and products available on the market have not been found, at this time. However, there is an existing patent, U.S. Pat. No. 4,653,562, called the “Automotive Window Safety Guard.” Then there is the existence of a patent, U.S. Pat. No. 3,923,339, it is called the “Quick Attached Transparent Armor Window.” While numerous window screens or covers of various designs are available in the market place, a need for improvements still exist. Although these patents have similar titles and meanings to my product, I will prove through my drawings and detailed explanations how unique my idea, and how different my idea is from other patents.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

[0010] Reference is now made to the drawing figures showing the practicality and convenience of using a temporary cosmetic-plastic replacement window. The window covering is made up of a durable, impact-resistant plastic that under normal use has a 5 year warranty policy or a like material, described as a super strong, plexiglas type of acrylic type of plastic. Actually, the Cosmetic-Plastic Window Covering for Automobile is designed, cut and shaped to fit firmly and securely in the door-frame of the sides of a car door. The impact-resistant plastic, or like plastic material has a thickness or a width equal to {fraction (2/10)} to {fraction (3/10)} centimeters. A standard automobile's real glass window is three (3) times greater in weight than the Cosmetic-Plastic Window Covering—making my invention a practical and ideal substitute for the hassle of dealing with a heavy, broken car's side door and some rear windows. The standard car door window's shape and size and dimensions are ideal for a perfect fit for the Cosmetic-Plastic Window Covering.

[0011] The standard size of an automobile side-door front window is approximately forty inches long in length and on the average, approximately sixteen to eighteen inches in height. Therefore, to make the Cosmetic-Plastic Window Covering fit the front side-door window to a standard size automobile, it will take a combined total of a minimum of six (6) sets of the impact-resistant plastic or like plastic material attached together, with the use of an extra super strength transparent tape. The idea was to make a product that could be used temporarily on an automobile and it would be reusable, lightweight and easy to fold and store away—until you choose to use it again. The divided equal parts [the six (6) equal sets of the impact-resistant plastic materials or like plastic materials attached together] makes it very easy to fold and store away.

[0012] The six (6) sets of plastic materials are measured individually at seven to eight inches apiece in length, while the vertical dimensions starts out at a height of fifteen to eighteen inches high. The extra super strength adhesive transparent tape that keeps these plastic material parts together is measured at 2 inches wide or 50.8 millimeters wide. The Cosmetic-Plastic Window covering will also consist of perforations that are indented on the outer perimeters of the cover, in order to reduce the size of the window cover, in order for it to fit the variety of styles, makes and models of automobile's front side-door frames.

Claims

1. A cosmetic-plastic covering for automobile created to replace a broken side/or a rear window for temporary use or pleasure, comprising of a durable impact-resistant plastic or super strong plexiglas like, acrylic type plastic material having a central position sized and shaped to substantially fit snug and tightly into the automobile's side-door window frame and its molding for holding said plastic covering in position; fitting means for maneuvering said covering into proper position, within the molding of the door's window frame, each of said fitting means including a carefully cut out hand adjusted and managed in said sheets of material forming said pairs, in order to make said cover a whole and complete product; and each of said fitting means being separately formed and more so including a super strong adhesive tape attaching each said fitting making the said covering ready to be placed between the molding of the side/or rear door and window frame, stop means on said fitting means folding and unfolding manageability, when said fitting is housed into the door's window frame, it can prevent easy excess and damage to the said cover.

2. The removable plastic cover set forth in claim 1, whereby said stop means is a suit of said fitting's specified material having dimensions sufficiently trimmed, carved and carefully shaped so as to engage said door and door's window frame and molding so not to easily pull-through between them.

3. The removable plastic cover set forth in claim 1, whereby said fitting includes a pair of six (6) interconnecting body halves having a minimum of six (6) sections of said sheet type material of said taped parts contained there between the door's window frame.

4. The removable plastic cover set forth in claim 1, also includes viewing means given in portions of said sheet type of material that sustains itself between said central body and each said pairs or sections, with said viewing means being placed properly inside the door frame of window when said cover is properly positioned on said door and door window frame.

5. The removable plastic cover set forth in claim 1, whereby said fitting can be used in various shades of tented colors, for the purpose of making your personal automobile fashionable, having privacy and obtaining your own unique style.
