The disclosure relates to eyeglasses devices and more particularly pertains to a new eyeglasses device for presenting the appearance of monster eyes.
The prior art relates to eyeglasses devices including a variety of eyeglasses that each has a plurality of light emitters being integrated into a frame of the eyeglasses. The prior art discloses a pair of eyeglasses that has a pair of light emitters being positioned in front of respective lenses for presenting the appearance of monster eyes.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a pair of eyeglasses that can be worn on a user's head. The pair of eyeglasses includes a frame and a pair of lenses, and the frame includes a pair of arms. A pair of panels is each coupled to the pair of eyeglasses and each of the panels is positioned behind a respective one of the lenses. Each of the panels is offset from a center of the respective lens such that the panels do not inhibit the user's vision. A pair of light emitters is each of the light emitters is coupled to a respective one of the panels to emit light outwardly therefrom.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
Each of the panels 20 is comprised of a translucent material pass light therethrough. Each of the panels 20 has a forward surface 24 and a perimeter edge 26, and the perimeter edge 26 curves outwardly from a center point of the panel 20 and tapering to a point on opposite ends of the panel 20. In this way each of the panels 20 has an almond shape to simulate the ornamental appearance of a human eye. The forward surface 24 of each of the panels 20 faces a back side 28 of the respective lens 16. Each of the panels 20 is positioned in an upper outward quadrant of the respective lens 16 having each of the panels 20 being directed toward a center of the respective lens 16. The forward surface 24 of each of the panels 20 is concavely arcuate with respect to the back side 28 of the respective lens 16 to define a light space 30 between the forward surface 24 of each of the panels 20 and the back side 28 of the respective lens 16.
A pair of light emitters 32 is provided and each of the light emitters 32 is coupled to a respective one of the panels 20 to emit light outwardly therefrom. Each of the light emitters 32 is positioned on the forward surface 24 of the respective panel 20 such that each of the light emitters 32 is positioned in the light space 30 defined by the respective panel 20. Additionally, each of the light emitters 32 may comprise an LED or other type of electronic light emitter.
A switch 34 is slidably coupled to the eyeglasses 12 and the switch 34 is positioned on a respective one of the arms 18. The switch 34 is electrically coupled to each of the light emitters 32 for turning the light emitters 32 on and off. A power supply 36 is removably coupled to the eyeglasses 12 and the power supply 36 is electrically coupled to the switch 34. The power supply 36 comprises a set of contacts 38 and each of the contacts 38 is integrated into the respective arm 18. Each of the contacts 38 is electrically coupled to the switch 34 and each of the contacts 38 is comprised of an electrically conductive material. The power supply includes at least one battery 40 that is removably positioned between the set of contacts 38 to mount the at least one battery 40 to the eyeglasses 12. The at least one battery 40 is in electrical communication with the switch 34 when the at least one battery 40 is positioned in the set of contacts 38.
In use, the eyeglasses 12 are worn for the purposes of costuming or ornamental purposes. The switch 34 is manipulated to turn on each of the light emitters 32. Thus, the light emitters 32 emit light to simulate the appearance of a menacing creature. Additionally, each of the panels 20 is illuminated by the light emitters 32 when the light emitters 32 are turned on. In this way the ornamental appearance of the menacing creature is enhanced.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
