Claims
- 1. An apparatus for coupling a shockwave source to the body of a patient, comprising:
a coupling bellows configured to rotate substantially symmetrically about an axis of rotation, said coupling bellows comprising:
a coupling portion which extends substantially perpendicular to the axis of rotation and is configured to provide a coupling surface relative to the body of a patient, wherein said coupling portion is transmissive to shockwaves; and an outer portion which extends in a substantially cylindrical shape relative to the axis of rotation, wherein said outer portion is sound-insulating.
- 2. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein said coupling portion is thin-walled and has no inclusions and said outer portion is thick-walled, relative to said coupling portion, and includes air pores or a sound-insulating material.
- 3. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein said coupling portion and said outer portion are constructed from different materials and connected in a liquid-tight manner.
- 4. The apparatus of claim 2, wherein said coupling portion and said outer portion are constructed from one or more materials that can be vulcanized.
- 5. The apparatus of claim 4, wherein said one or more materials that said outer portion is constructed of becomes porous after it has been vulcanized.
- 6. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein said coupling portion and said outer portion are constructed from different materials and connected in a liquid-tight manner.
- 7. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein said coupling portion and said outer portion are constructed from one or more materials that can be vulcanized.
- 8. The apparatus of claim 7, wherein said one or more materials that said outer portion is constructed of becomes porous after it has been vulcanized.
- 9. The apparatus of claim 1, wherein said coupling portion and said outer portion are constructed from one or more materials that can be vulcanized.
- 10. The apparatus of claim 9, wherein said one or more materials that said outer portion is constructed of becomes porous after it has been vulcanized.
