The disclosure relates to a coupling mechanism, more particularly to a coupling mechanism that can be used without screws, and a liquid crystal display device that has the coupling mechanism.
Currently, due to the development of backlight techniques and market requirements, liquid crystal display televisions are designed to be light, thin and narrow-framed. Referring to
However, when the middle frame 11 is coupled to the back plate 12, the middle frame 11 abuts against the back plate 12 without a gap being left therebetween. As a result, the protruding hook 111 cannot be easily disengaged from the engaging hole of the back plate 12.
Therefore, an object of the disclosure is to provide a coupling mechanism that can alleviate at least one of the drawbacks of the prior art.
Accordingly, the coupling mechanism includes a back plate formed with at least one engaging hole, and a frame unit having at least one frame body and at least one engaging member. The at least one engaging member extends from the at least one frame body, and engages the at least one engaging hole for coupling fixedly the at least one frame body to the back plate. The at least one frame body is deformable for disengaging the at least one engaging member from the at least one engaging hole, thereby permitting removal of the at least one frame body from the back plate.
Another object of the disclosure is to provide a backlight module that can be connected to the abovementioned coupling mechanism.
Accordingly, the backlight module is adapted to be connected to the back plate of the abovementioned coupling mechanism, and includes a light source and an optical plate. Light emitted from the light source passes through the optical plate.
Another object of the disclosure is to provide a liquid crystal display device that has the abovementioned backlight module.
Accordingly, the liquid crystal display device includes the abovementioned backlight module and a display panel disposed in front of the backlight module. Light emitted from the light source passes through the optical plate and serves as a backlight of the display panel.
Other features and advantages of the disclosure will become apparent in the following detailed description of the embodiment with reference to the accompanying drawings, of which:
Referring to
In this embodiment, the back plate 4 has a back plate portion 41 behind the backlight module 31 and parallel to the optical plate 312, and a side plate portion 42 connected to opposite outer edges of the back plate portion 41 and formed with a plurality of engaging holes 43. Each of the engaging holes 43 has a stepped shape, and has a first hole section 431, and a second hole section 432 that is larger than the first hole section 431 and that is connected to an inner end of the first hole section 431. Specifically, as shown in
In this embodiment, the frame unit 5 has a plurality of frame bodies 51, a plurality of spaced-apart support members 52 mounted to the frame bodies 51, and a plurality of engaging members 53 extending from the frame bodies 51 and engaging respectively the engaging holes 43 for coupling fixedly the frame bodies 51 to the back plate 4.
It should be noted that, in other embodiments, the frame unit 5 may have only one frame body 51 and one engaging member 53, and the back plate 4 may be formed with only one engaging hole 43 which is engaged removably with the engaging member 53.
Referring to
It should be further noted that the support members 52 may be mounted to the back plate 4 on a surface facing the front segments 512 of the frame bodies 51 and abut against the front segments 512 of the frame bodies 51, or may even be omitted as long as the gap 6 can be formed between the front segments 512 of the frame bodies 51 and the side plate portion 42.
Each engaging member 53 is disposed under the gap 6 between the front segment 512 of a corresponding one of the frame bodies 51 and the side plate portion 42, and is disposed between an adjacent pair of the support members 52 as shown in
Referring to
As shown in
When the engaging members 53 engage respectively the engaging holes 43, the frame bodies 51 can be positioned on the back plate 4 without using screws or fastening members. The users can then press the front segment 512 of any of the frame bodies 51 in the second direction (B) to cause the deformation of the front segment 512, thereby actuating the disengagement of the hook portions 532 of the corresponding engaging members 53 from the extension parts 433 of the engaging holes 43. At this point, the user can remove the frame bodies 51 from the back plate 4 without using any tools.
In summary, the coupling mechanism 2 has a relatively simple structure, and the user can easily separate the frame bodies 51 from the back plate 4, so that the drawbacks associated with the abovementioned prior art can be alleviated. Moreover, the coupling mechanism 2 can be assembled with either a direct-type backlight module or a side-type backlight module, thereby allowing for a relatively large flexibility in use.
In the description above, for the purposes of explanation, numerous specific details have been set forth in order to provide a thorough understanding of the embodiment(s). It will be apparent, however, to one skilled in the art, that one or more other embodiments may be practiced without some of these specific details. It should also be appreciated that reference throughout this specification to “one embodiment,” “an embodiment,” an embodiment with an indication of an ordinal number and so forth means that a particular feature, structure, or characteristic may be included in the practice of the disclosure. It should be further appreciated that in the description, various features are sometimes grouped together in a single embodiment, figure, or description thereof for the purpose of streamlining the disclosure and aiding in the understanding of various inventive aspects.
While the disclosure has been described in connection with what is considered the exemplary embodiment, it is understood that his disclosure is not limited to the disclosed embodiment but is intended to cover various arrangements included within the spirit and scope of the broadest interpretation so as to encompass all such modifications and equivalent arrangements.
