Description
FIELD OF THE INVENTION

The present invention relates to a cover and more particularly to a cover for cosmetics.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

Nowadays, the cover for cosmetics in the market such as the container of lipstick, facial cream, lotion, or palette is made of plastic. Usually, the plastic cover for cosmetics is painted or designed in overall appearance to enhance the value of cosmetics. However, the cosmetic with plastic cover still looks cheap for most of consumers, and the rigid material like plastic is easy to be damaged and cracked when carried. Also, the plastic cosmetic cover is more likely to cause environmental pollution. Therefore, there remains a need for a new and improved design for a cover for cosmetics to overcome the problems presented above.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The present invention provides a cover for cosmetics which comprises a main body having an outer surface at an outer periphery thereof, and the outer surface is covered by a cork layer which is made of compacted cork.

In one embodiment, the main body is a container for a lipstick, a lip cream, or a lip gloss; the main body comprises a base and a first upper cover which are configured to fit together, and the cork layer is configured to cover the outer surfaces of the base and the first upper cover through the mold extrusion process.

In another embodiment, the main body is a container for a facial cream or a lotion, and the cork layer is adhered to and covers the outer surface of a second upper cover of the main body through the mold extrusion process.

In still another embodiment, the main body is a palette which has a plate and a lid, and the cork layer is adhered to and covers the outer surfaces of the plate and the lid through the mold extrusion process, and an inner surface of the lid comprises a mirror.

In a further embodiment, the outer surface of the main body comprises at least a locating groove, and when the cork layer is adhered to and covers the outer surface of the main body through the mold extrusion process, an inner surface of the cork layer is squeezed into the locating groove to form an engaging rib.

In still a further embodiment, the cork layer is adhered to and covers the outer surface of the main body through a sheet winding way.

Comparing with conventional cover for cosmetics, the present invention is advantageous because: (i) the outer surface of the main body is covered by the cork layer, which enables the main body to have high-quality appearance; (ii) the cork layer can protect the main body and achieve the effect of environmental protection; and (iii) when the main body is carried by a bag, the cork layer can prevent damages or scratches on the main body and a lining of the bag due to rubbing against each other.

In order to further understand the goal, characteristics and effect of the present invention, a number of embodiments along with the drawings are illustrated as following:

Referring to FIGS. 1 to 3, the present invention provides a cover for cosmetics which comprises a main body (10) having an outer surface (11) at an outer periphery thereof, and the outer surface (11) is covered by a cork layer (12) which is made of compacted cork to enable the main body (10) to have a cork material texture. Also, the cork layer (12) is adapted to protect the main body (10) and achieve the effect of environmental protection.

Referring FIGS. 1 to 3, in one embodiment, the main body (10) is a container for a cosmetic such as lipstick, lip cream, and lip gloss. The main body (10) comprises a base (101) and a first upper cover (102) which are configured to fit together, and the cork layer (12) is configured to cover the outer surfaces (11) of the base (101) and the first upper cover (102) through the mold extrusion process.

In another embodiment, referring to FIG. 4, each of the outer surfaces (11) of the base (101) and the first upper cover (102) has at least a locating groove (111) (the locating groove (111) on the base (101) is not shown in FIGs.). The cork layer (12) is adapted to cover the outer surfaces (11) of the base (101) and the first upper cover (102) through the mold extrusion process, and an inner surface of the cork layer (12) is squeezed into the two locating grooves (111) to form two engaging ribs (121) so as to improve the connection between the cork layer (12) and the outer surfaces (11).

In still another embodiment, referring to FIG. 5, the cork layer (12) is adhered to and covers the outer surface (11) of the main body (10) through a sheet winding way.

In a further embodiment, the main body (10) is a container for a cosmetic such as facial cream and lotion. Referring to FIGS. 6 and 7, the cork layer (12) is adhered to and covers the outer surface (11) of a second upper cover (103) of the main body (10) through the mold extrusion process, and a bottle portion of the main body (10) is made of glass which is see-through.

In still a further embodiment, the main body (10) is a palette, referring to FIGS. 8 and 9. The palette comprises a plate (104) and a lid (105), and the cork layer (12) is adhered to and covers the outer surfaces (11) of the plate (104) and the lid (105) through the mold extrusion process, and an inner surface of the lid (105) comprises a mirror.

In a particular embodiment, referring to FIG. 10, each of the outer surfaces (11) of the plate (104) and the lid (105) comprises a plurality of locating grooves (111) such that when the cork layer (12) is adhered to and covers the outer surfaces (11) of the main body (10) through the mold extrusion process, the inner surface of the cork layer (12) is squeezed into the locating grooves (111) to form the engaging ribs (121) so as to improve the connection between the cork layer (12) and the outer surfaces (11).

Comparing with conventional cover for cosmetics, the present invention is advantageous because: (i) the outer surface (11) of the main body (10) is covered by the cork layer (12), which enables the main body (10) to have high-quality appearance; (ii) the cork layer (12) can protect the main body (10) and achieve the effect of environmental protection; and (iii) when the main body (10) is carried by a bag, the cork layer (12) can prevent damages or scratches on the main body (10) and a lining of the bag due to rubbing against each other.

Having described the invention by the description and illustrations above, it should be understood that these are exemplary of the invention and are not to be considered as limiting. Accordingly, the invention is not to be considered as limited by the foregoing description, but includes any equivalents.
