Claims
- 1. A crop sprayer, comprising:
- a support assembly including a chassis member and an offset frame member which are secured together so as to define a mounting space, wherein said chassis member defines a chassis bottom surface which is positioned at a first vertical height above the ground;
- a storage tank, supported by said chassis member, for storing a quantity of liquid therein;
- a boom arm assembly which is supported by said chassis member;
- a number of nozzles in fluid communication with said storage tank, said number of nozzles being supported by said boom arm assembly;
- a suspension assembly mounted to said support assembly, wherein (i) said suspension assembly includes a suspension frame which is at least partially positioned within said mounting space, (ii) said suspension frame defines a suspension top surface which is positioned at a second vertical height above the ground, and (iii) said second vertical height is greater than said first vertical height; and
- a number of wheels mechanically coupled to said suspension frame.
- 2. The crop sprayer of claim 1, wherein:
- said support assembly further includes a battery platform secured to said offset frame member,
- said battery platform is positioned in front of said offset frame member relative to the forward direction of movement of said crop sprayer,
- said battery platform defines a platform bottom surface which is positioned at a third vertical height above the ground, and
- said third vertical height is less than said second vertical height.
- 3. The crop sprayer of claim 1, further comprising an engine for driving at least one of said number of wheels so as to propel said crop sprayer, wherein:
- said engine is supported on said chassis member, and
- said offset frame member is positioned in front of said engine relative to the forward direction of movement of said crop sprayer.
- 4. The crop sprayer of claim 1, wherein said suspension assembly is pivotally secured to said support assembly.
- 5. The crop sprayer of claim 4, wherein:
- said offset frame member defines an offset bottom surface,
- said support assembly further includes a bracket extending downwardly from said offset bottom surface, and
- a first portion of said suspension frame is pivotally coupled to said bracket.
- 6. The crop sprayer of claim 5, wherein:
- said support assembly further includes a battery platform secured to said offset frame member,
- said battery platform includes a vertically oriented plate, and
- a second portion of said suspension frame is pivotally coupled to said vertically oriented plate.
- 7. A crop sprayer, comprising:
- a support assembly including a chassis member which defines a chassis bottom surface which is positioned at a first vertical height above the ground, wherein (i) said support assembly is configured so as to define a mounting space which is located at a second vertical height above the ground, and (ii) said second vertical height is greater than said first vertical height;
- a storage tank, supported by said chassis member, for storing a quantity of liquid therein;
- a boom arm assembly which is supported by said chassis member;
- a number of nozzles in fluid communication with said storage tank, said number of nozzles being supported by said boom arm assembly;
- a suspension assembly mounted to said support assembly, wherein said suspension assembly includes a suspension frame which is at least partially positioned within said mounting space; and
- a number of wheels mechanically coupled to said suspension frame.
- 8. The crop sprayer of claim 7, wherein:
- said support assembly further includes an offset frame member which is secured to said chassis member, and
- said chassis member and said offset frame member collectively defines said mounting space.
- 9. The crop sprayer of claim 8, wherein:
- said support assembly further includes a battery platform secured to said offset frame member,
- said battery platform is positioned in front of said offset frame member relative to the forward direction of movement of said crop sprayer,
- said battery platform defines a platform bottom surface which is positioned at a third vertical height above the ground, and
- said third vertical height is less than said second vertical height.
- 10. The crop sprayer of claim 7, further comprising an engine for driving at least one of said number of wheels so as to propel said crop sprayer, wherein:
- said engine is supported on said chassis member, and
- said mounting space is positioned ahead of said engine relative to the forward direction of movement of said crop sprayer.
- 11. The crop sprayer of claim 7, wherein said suspension assembly is pivotally secured to said support assembly.
- 12. The crop sprayer of claim 11, wherein:
- a portion of said support assembly defines an offset bottom surface,
- said support assembly further includes a bracket extending downwardly from said offset bottom surface and into said mounting space, and
- a first portion of said suspension frame is pivotally coupled to said bracket.
- 13. The crop sprayer of claim 12, wherein:
- said support assembly further includes (i) an offset frame member secured to said chassis member, and (ii) a battery platform secured to said offset frame member,
- said battery platform includes a vertically oriented plate, and
- a second portion of said suspension frame is pivotally coupled to said vertically oriented plate.
- 14. A crop sprayer, comprising:
- a support assembly which defines a bottom surface which is positioned at a first vertical height above the ground, wherein (i) said support assembly is configured so as to define a mounting space which is located at a second vertical height above the ground, and (ii) said second vertical height is greater than said first vertical height;
- a storage tank supported by said chassis member;
- a boom arm assembly which is supported by said chassis member;
- a number of nozzles in fluid communication with said storage tank, said number of nozzles being supported by said boom arm assembly;
- a suspension assembly mounted to said support assembly, wherein said suspension assembly includes a suspension frame which is at least partially positioned within said mounting space; and
- a number of wheels mechanically coupled to said suspension frame.
- 15. The crop sprayer of claim 14, wherein:
- said support assembly includes (i) a chassis member, and (ii) an offset frame member which is secured to said chassis member,
- said chassis member and said offset frame member collectively defines said mounting space.
- 16. The crop sprayer of claim 15, wherein:
- said support assembly further includes a battery platform secured to said offset frame member,
- said battery platform is positioned in front of said offset frame member relative to the forward direction of movement of said crop sprayer,
- said battery platform defines a platform bottom surface which is positioned at a third vertical height above the ground, and
- said third vertical height is less than said second vertical height.
- 17. The crop sprayer of claim 15, further comprising an engine for driving at least one of said number of wheels so as to propel said crop sprayer, wherein:
- said engine is supported on said chassis member, and
- said mounting space is positioned ahead of said engine relative to the forward direction of movement of said crop sprayer.
- 18. The crop sprayer of claim 14, wherein said suspension assembly is pivotally secured to said support assembly.
- 19. The crop sprayer of claim 18, wherein:
- a portion of said support assembly defines an offset bottom surface,
- said support assembly further includes a bracket extending downwardly from said offset bottom surface and into said mounting space, and
- a first portion of said suspension frame is pivotally coupled to said bracket.
- 20. The crop sprayer of claim 19, wherein:
- said support assembly further includes (i) an offset frame member secured to said chassis member which defines said offset bottom surface, and (ii) a battery platform secured to said offset frame member,
- said battery platform includes a vertically oriented plate, and
- a second portion of said suspension frame is pivotally coupled to said vertically oriented plate.
