Description
Claims
  • 1. A composition comprising cyclosporin A and a nonaqueous, physiologically acceptable liquid carrier, said composition being suitable for topical administration to an eye of a mammal.
  • 2. The composition of claim 1 wherein the cyclosporin A is in a drug delivery vehicle that is suspended in the nonaqueous, physiologically acceptable liquid carrier.
  • 3. The composition of claim 1 further comprising a surfactant.
  • 4. The composition of claim 1 wherein the nonaqueous physiologically acceptable liquid carrier is a perfluorocarbon carrier.
  • 5. The composition of claim 1 wherein said nonaqueous, physiologically acceptable perfluorocarbon liquid carrier is selected from the group consisting of perfluoro(decahydronaphthalene), perfluoro(decahydro-1-methylnaphthalene), perfluoroperhydrophenanthrene, perfluoromethylcyclohexane, perfluoro(1,3-dimethyleyclohexane), perfluorotrimethylcyclohexane, perfluoroisopropyleyclohexane, perfluoro-1-methyl-4-isopropylcyclohexane, perfluoro-n-butylcyclohexane, perfluoroendotetrahydrocicyclopentadiene, perfluoromethyladamantane, perfluorodimethylbicyclo(3.3.1.) nonane, and perfluorotrimethylbicyclo(3.3.1.) nonane.
  • 6. The composition of claim 1 wherein said nonaqueous, physiologically acceptable perfluorocarbon liquid carrier is selected from the group consisting of perfluorotributylamine and perfluorotriisopropylamine.
  • 7. The composition of claim 1 wherein said nonaqueous, physiologically acceptable perfluorocarbon liquid carrier is selected from the group consisting of perfluorotetrahydrofuran and perfluoroether.
