Claims
- 1. A method for controlling enzymatic decomposition of urea juxtaposed soil systems, said enzymatic decomposition of said urea being to ammonia and carbonic acid and being due to the action of the enzyme urease thereupon, said method consisting essentially of exposing said enzyme to relatively small predetermined amounts of a compound of the formula ##STR6## wherein R.sub.1 =R.sub.1 '=R.sub.2 =R.sub.2 '=R.sub.3 =R.sub.3 '=NH.sub.2.
- 2. The method of claim 1 wherein said compound having the formula shown therein is applied with said urea in juxtaposition with said soil system at the rate ranging from about 0.01 percent to about 10 percent of urea wt/wt basis.
- 3. A method for controlling enzymatic decomposition of urea juxtaposed soil systems, said enzymatic decomposition of said urea being to ammonia and carbonic acid and being due to the action of the enzyme urease thereupon, said method consisting essentially of exposing said enzyme to relatively small predetermined amounts of a compound of the formula ##STR7## wherein R.sub.1 '=R.sub.2 '=R.sub.3 '=R.sub.2 =R.sub.3 =NH.sub.2 and R.sub.1 =OC.sub.6 H.sub.5.
- 4. The method of claim 3 wherein said dcompound having the formula shown therein is applied with said urea in juxtaposition with said soil system at the rate ranging from about 0.01 percent to about 10 percent of urea wt/wt basis.
- 5. A method for controlling enzymatic decomposition of urea juxtaposed soil systems, said enzymatic decomposition of said urea being to ammonia and carbonic acid and being due to the action of the enzyme urease thereupon, said method consisting essentially of exposing said enzyme to relatively small predetermined amounts of a compound of the formula ##STR8## wherein R.sub.1 '=R.sub.2 '=R.sub.3 '=R.sub.3 =NH.sub.2 and R.sub.1 =R.sub.2 =OC.sub.6 H.sub.5.
- 6. The method of claim 5 wherein said compound having the formula shown therein is applied with said urea in juxtaposition with said soil system at the rate ranging from about 0.01 percent to about 10 percent of urea wt/wt basis.
- 7. A method for controlling enzymatic decomposition of urea juxtaposed soil systems, said enzymatic decomposition of said urea being to ammonia and carbonic acid and being due to the action of the enzyme urease thereupon, said method consisting essentially of exposing said enzyme to relatively small predetermined amounts of a compound of the formula ##STR9## wherein R.sub.1 '=R.sub.2 '=R.sub.3 '=NH.sub.2 and R.sub.1 =R.sub.2 =R.sub.3 =OC.sub.6 H.sub.5.
- 8. The method of claim 7 wherein said compound having the formula shown therein is applied with said urea in juxtaposition with said soil system at the rate ranging from about 0.01 percent to about 10 percent of urea wt/wt basis.
- 9. A method for controlling enzymatic decomposition of urea juxtaposed soil systems, said enzymatic decomposition of said urea being to ammonia and carbonic acid and being due to the action of the enzyme urease thereupon, said method consisting essentially of exposing said enzyme to relatively small predetermined amounts of compounds of the formula ##STR10## wherein R.sub.1 '=R.sub.2 '=R.sub.3 '=NH.sub.2 ; R.sub.1 =OC.sub.6 H.sub.5 ; and R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are selected from the group consisting of NH.sub.2, OC.sub.6 H.sub.5, and mixtures thereof.
- 10. The method of claim 9 wherein said compounds having the formulae shown therein are applied with said urea in juxtaposition with said soil system at the rate ranging from about 0.01 percent to about 10 percent of urea wt/wt basis.
- 11. A method for substantially substaining the control of enzymatic decomposition of urea juxtaposed soil systems, said enzymatic decomposition of said urea being to ammonia and carbonic acid and being due to the action of the enzyme urease thereupon, said method consisting essentially of exposing said enzyme to relatively small predetermined amounts of compounds of the formula ##STR11## wherein R.sub.1 '=R.sub.2 '=R.sub.3 '=NH.sub.2 ; R.sub.1 =OC.sub.6 H.sub.5 ; and R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are selected from the group consisting of NH.sub.2, OC.sub.6 H.sub.5, and mixtures thereof.
- 12. The method of claim 11 wherein said compounds having the formulae shown therein are applied with said urea in juxtaposition with said soil system at the rate ranging from about 0.01 percent to about 10 percent of urea wt/wt basis to thereby effect a sustained control of said enzymatic decomposition of said urea of at least about 50 percent for the period of time ranging from about 3 days to about 21 days subsequent to said application of said compounds to said soil system.
- 13. The method of claim 12 wherein said compounds comprise from about 25 percent to about 75 percent of the compound of claim 3 and the remainder thereof as the compound of claim 7.
- 14. The method of claim 13 wherein said compounds comprise about 50 percent of the compound of claim 3 to thereby effect said sustained control at a level of at least about 60 percent.
- 15. The method of claim 13 wherein said compounds comprise about 25 percent of the compound of claim 3 to thereby effect said sustained control at a level of at least about 70 percent.
- 16. The method of claim 12 wherein said compounds comprise from about 5 percent to about 90 percent of each of the compounds of claims 3, 5, and 7.
- 17. The method of claim 16 wherein each of said compounds is present in about equal portions to thereby effect said sustained control at a level of at least about 65 percent.
- 18. The method of claim 16 wherein said compounds of claims 3, 5, and 7 are present therein in portions of about 10 percent, about 30 percent, and about 60 percent, respectively, to thereby effect said sustained control at a level of at least about 70 percent.
- 19. The method of claim 16 wherein said compounds of claims 3, 5, and 7 are present therein in portions of about 5 percent, about 5 percent, and about 90 percent, respectively, to thereby effect said sustained control at a level of at least about 75 percent.
