Claims
- 1. An improved cylinder or roller for printing machines, said cylinder or roller having a cylindrical metal core, and an outermost inseparable cylindrical surface layer on the core of said cylinder or roller, said layer consisting of a metal alloy selected from the following group of alloys: nickel-chromium having about 80% by weight of nickel and about 20% by weight of chromium, nickel-chromium-boron-silicon having about 4-20% by weight of chromium, about 1-6% by weight of boron, about 1-6% by weight of silicon, and about 0-10% by weight of the following metals: molybdenum, tungsten, copper and about 0.5 to 8% by weight of iron, the remainder being nickel.
- 2. The improved cylinder or roller for printing machines as set forth in claim 1, and at least one intermediate layer between said inseparable cylindrical surface layer and said cylinder or roller, said intermediate layer consisting of a metal alloy selected from the group of nickel-chromium of about 80% by weight of nickel and about 20% by weight of chromium, and nickel-aluminum of about 70% by weight of nickel and about 30% by weight of aluminum.
- 3. The improved cylinder or roller for printing machines as set forth in claim 1, wherein said outermost inseparable cylindrical surface layer has a surface roughness Ra of 7 to 25 microns.
