DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION

With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to FIGS. 1 through 10 thereof, a new dab rig device embodying the principles and concepts of an embodiment of the disclosure and generally designated by the reference numeral 10 will be described.

As best illustrated in FIGS. 1 through 10, the dab rig insert assembly 10 generally comprises a funnel 12 that is comprised of a fluid impermeable material thereby facilitating the funnel 12 to contain a concentrated oil 14 for smoking. In this way the funnel 12 can be inserted into a vaporizing chamber 16 of a dab rig 18 when a user 20 wishes to smoke the concentrated oil 14. The concentrated oil 14 may be cannabis oil, hashish or other type of concentrated oil 14 that is commonly smoked for pleasure. The funnel 12 is comprised of a thermally conductive material, including but not being limited to metal or ceramic, thereby facilitating the funnel 12 to be heated by the vaporizing chamber 16 when the vaporizing chamber 16 has been pre-heated. In this way the funnel 12 melts the concentrated oil 14 when the funnel 12 is inserted into the vaporizing chamber 16. Thus, the concentrated oil 14 drips from the funnel 12 into the vaporizing chamber 16 in a controlled manner. An air slot 22 is integrated into the funnel 12 and the air slot 22 is recessed into the funnel 12 to air to pass between the funnel 12 and the vaporizing chamber 16 when the funnel 12 is inserted into the vaporizing chamber 16.

The funnel 12 has a top end 24, a bottom end 26 and an outer wall 28 extending between the top end 24 and the bottom end 26. The outer wall 28 tapers inwardly between the top end 24 and the bottom end 26 such that the bottom end 26 can be inserted into the vaporizing chamber 16 having the outer wall 28 abutting a bounding surface 30 of an opening 32 into the vaporizing chamber 16. The outer wall 28 has a first angled portion 34 angling inwardly toward a center of the funnel 12 and the first angled portion 34 extends between the top end 24 and the bottom end 26. The outer wall 28 has a second angled portion 36 angling inwardly toward the center of the funnel 12 and the second angled portion 36 extends between the top end 24 and the bottom end 26.

The second angled portion 36 intersects with the first angled portion 34 such that the first angled portion 34 and the second angled portion 36 defines the air slot 22. The first angled portion 34 has a first edge 38 intersecting with the outer wall 28 and the second angled portion 36 has a second edge 40 intersecting with the outer wall 28. The first angled portion 34 narrows between the first edge 38 and an intersection 41 between the second angled portion 36 along an axis extending between the top end 24 and the bottom end 26. Additionally, the second angled portion 36 narrows between the second edge 40 and the intersection between the first angled portion 34 along the axis extending between the top end 24 and the bottom end 26.

The funnel 12 may have a length of approximately 2.5 cm and the top end 24 of the funnel 12 may have a diameter of approximately 2.5 cm and the bottom end 26 may have a diameter of approximately 6.5 mm. In an alternative embodiment 42 as shown in FIG. 6, the funnel 12 may have a length of approximately 2.0 cm and the top end 24 of the funnel 12 may have a diameter of approximately 2.5 cm and the bottom end 26 may have a diameter of approximately 6.5 mm. In an alternative embodiment 44 as shown in FIG. 7, the funnel 12 may have a length of approximately 3.5 cm and the top end 24 of the funnel 12 may have a diameter of approximately 2.5 cm and the bottom end 26 may have a diameter of approximately 6.5 mm. In an alternative embodiment 46 as shown in FIG. 5, the outer wall 28 of the funnel 12 is continuously arcuate about a centerline of the funnel 12 such that the air slot 22 is eliminated.

In use, a preferred amount of the concentrated oil 14 is loaded into the funnel 12 and the vaporizing chamber 16 is pre-heated with a torch or other source of flame. The bottom end 26 of the funnel 12 is inserted into the opening 32 in the vaporizing chamber 16 and the vaporizing chamber 16 heats the funnel 12. The funnel 12 subsequently melts the concentrated oil 14 to facilitate the concentrated oil 14 to drip from the bottom end 26 of the funnel 12 into the vaporizing chamber 16. In this way the concentrated oil 14 drips in a controlled fashion into the vaporizing chamber 16 to enhance the combustion of the concentrated oil 14. Additionally, the air slot 22 facilitates air to pass between the funnel 12 and the vaporizing chamber 16 to facilitate the user 20 to inhale through the dab rig 18 for inhaling the combustion vapors of the concentrated oil 14. The concentrated oil 14 congeals in the funnel 12 when the temperature of the vaporizing chamber 16 falls below the melting point of the concentrated oil 14 thereby preserving the concentrated oil 14 for future smoking.

With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.

Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
