FIELD OF THE INVENTION
The present invention relates generally to devices used in the fashion industry. More specifically, the present invention is an apparatus used to organize and store jewelry items intended to be worn with a single outfit.
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION
Due to the fast pace of today's society, the amount of time an individual can invest in their fashion needs is limited. The lack of time to decide on an outfit and fashion accessories can lead to unfavorable circumstances. For instance, a certain jewelry item chosen in a limited time period may not match with an outfit. Moreover, certain individuals may opt not to wear any jewelry due to the lack of time to choose from a large pile of jewelry items. The probability of misplacing jewelry items is also considerably high when operating in a limited time period. As experienced by many individuals the best approach to this issue is to organize the accessories ahead of time. The relaxed mindset allows an individual to decide on which items are to be worn with a certain outfit.
Jewelry boxes are traditionally used to organize and store a large amount of jewelry. However, the drawback of using jewelry boxes is that multiple jewelry items are placed together, and picking a desired item can be time consuming and stressful especially when operating in a limited time period. Due to size restrictions, jewelry boxes cannot always be carried around. Other traditional jewelry organizers have certain disadvantages as well. Hanging jewelry organizers also hold a large number of jewelry items, such that choosing a single item can be stressful when operating in a limited time period. Currently, if an individual needs to carry jewelry items, the entire organizer needs to be carried regardless of the number of jewelry items included. Carrying a large jewelry organizer in addition to a clothing outfit can be a stressful maneuver. Therefore, the only alternative is to take the essential jewelry items and place them in a bag, pouch or similar travel case. Placing jewelry items in a bag or pouch allows them to get tangled with each other and at times, can even be damaged.
The objective of the present invention is to address the aforementioned issues. More specifically, the present invention introduces a jewelry coordinator that can be used to store the essential jewelry items that correspond to one clothing outfit. The present invention is attached to the hanger, or slid over the hanger of a corresponding clothing outfit, such that the jewelry items are clearly organized together and the user can be ready within a short time period. The effective design of the present invention further allows a user to carry jewelry items along with an outfit. For instance, if an individual plans on getting prepared at the gym, the mobility of the present invention is extremely beneficial to carry the necessary jewelry. In contrast to many traditional devices, the design of the present invention provides storage space within a small area, and is intended to organize jewelry items that correspond to one particular outfit.

DETAIL DESCRIPTIONS OF THE INVENTION
All illustrations of the drawings are for the purpose of describing selected versions of the present invention and are not intended to limit the scope of the present invention. The present invention introduces a jewelry coordinator. More specifically, the present invention is an apparatus that is used to store jewelry items that are intended to be worn with a single clothing outfit. When utilizing the present invention, the present invention is hung along with the clothing outfit.
As seen in FIGS. 1-4, the present invention comprises a base sheet 1, a flap 2, a first plurality of pouches 3, a second plurality of pouches 4, and a hanging mechanism 9. The base sheet 1 and the flap 2 each comprise a front surface 100 and a back surface 200. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the base sheet 1 and the flap 2 are rectangular in shape. However, in other embodiments of the present invention the base sheet 1 and the flap 2 can have different functional shapes. A backing is positioned adjacent to the back surface 200 of the base sheet 1. The flap 2 is connected to the backing such that backing and the flap 2 together form a second sheet. More specifically, the flap 2 is positioned in a bottom portion of the second sheet. The flap 2 is hingedly connected across the back surface 200 of the base sheet 1 such that a user can conveniently control the base sheet 1 or the flap 2. As a result of the hinged connection, the front surface 100 of the flap 2 is positioned adjacent to the back surface 200 of the base sheet 1. Even though the preferred embodiment of the present invention utilizes a single flap, in other embodiments of the present invention multiple flaps can be hingedly connected across the back surface 200 of the base sheet 1. The present invention is hung along with a clothing outfit with the hanging mechanism 9. The hanging mechanism 9 is connected adjacent to the base sheet 1 and offset from the flap 2. The user positions the desired jewelry items in the first plurality of pouches 3 and the second plurality of pouches 4. The first plurality of pouches 3 is integrated onto the front surface 100 of the base sheet 1. Each of the first plurality of pouches 3 can be identical to each other or different to each other, such that the first plurality of pouches 3 can hold different sized jewelry. More specifically, a smaller sized pouch of the first plurality of pouches 3 can be used to hold small jewelry items such as earrings. On the other hand, a large pouch of the first plurality of pouches 3 can be used to hold large jewelry items such as a necklace. Similar to the first plurality of pouches 3 being integrated into the base sheet 1, the second plurality of pouches 4 is integrated onto the front surface 100 of the flap 2. Moreover, each of the second plurality of pouches 4 can also differ to each other in size and shape.
As seen in FIGS. 1-3, each of the first plurality of pouches 3 and each of the second plurality of pouches 4 comprises an opening 5 and a transparent cover 6. The opening 5 is utilized to insert and remove jewelry from the first plurality of pouches 3 and the second plurality of pouches 4. The transparent cover 6 allows the user to conveniently view the jewelry items placed within the first plurality of pouches 3 or the jewelry items placed within the second plurality of pouches 4. The transparent cover 6 can be made of, but is not limited to, clear plastic. As illustrated in FIG. 6, if a ring was placed within a pouch of the first plurality of pouches 3, the user can view the ring without removing the ring from the pouch. When considering the first plurality of pouches 3, the transparent cover 6 for each of the first plurality of pouches 3 comprises a fixed edge 7 and a free edge 8. The fixed edge 7 is connected to the front surface 100 of the base sheet 1 with means which can be, but is not limited to, adhesive or sewing. The opening 5 of each of the first plurality of pouches 3 is delineated by the free edge 8 and the front surface 100 of the base sheet 1. As seen in FIG. 1 and FIG. 2, the opening 5 of a pouch of the first plurality of pouches 3 can differ from another pouch from the first plurality of pouches 3. Different openings are important such that the user can place different sized jewelry within the first plurality of pouches 3. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the opening 5 created with only a single fixed edge is utilized to place large jewelry such as necklaces as shown in FIG. 2. In order to reveal the opening 5 the user raises the free edge 8 away from the front surface 100 such that the transparent cover 6 pivots about the fixed edge 7. A first fastening mechanism 13 is utilized to secure large jewelry items that are placed within the first plurality of pouches 3. In order to do so, the first fastening mechanism 13 is integrated in between the transparent cover 6 and the front surface 100 of the base sheet 1. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the first fastening mechanism 13 is utilized in one pouch of the first plurality of pouches 3. However, in another embodiment of the present invention, the first fastening mechanism 13 can be integrated into each of the first plurality of pouches 3. Additionally, in another embodiment of the present invention, the opening 5 of each of the first plurality of pouches 3 can comprise a concealing cover. The concealing cover encloses the opening 5 such that the jewelry items placed within the first plurality of pouches 3 are secured within the first plurality of pouches 3.
Similar to the first plurality of pouches 3, the transparent cover 6 for each of the second plurality of pouches 4 comprises a fixed edge 7 and a free edge 8. In contrast to the first plurality of pouches 3, the fixed edge 7 of each of the second plurality of pouches 4 is connected to the front surface 100 of the flap 2. Moreover, the opening 5 of each of the second plurality of pouches 4 is delineated by the free edge 8 of each of the second plurality of pouches 4 and the front surface 100 of the flap 2, allowing the user to place or remove jewelry from the second plurality of pouches 4. As illustrated in FIG. 5, a second fastening mechanism 14 is utilized to secure any large jewelry items within the second plurality of pouches 4. In particular, the second fastening mechanism 14 is integrated in between the transparent cover 6 and the front surface 100 of the flap 2. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the second fastening mechanism 14 is utilized in one pouch of the second plurality of pouches 4. However, in other embodiments of the present invention, the second fastening mechanism 14 can be integrated into each of the second plurality of pouches 4. Similar to the first plurality of pouches 3, each of the second plurality of pouches 4 can also comprise a concealing cover. The concealing cover encloses the opening 5 such that the jewelry items are secured within the second plurality of pouches 4. The concealing cover of each of the first plurality of pouches 3 and each of the second plurality of pouches 3 is particularly beneficial when the present invention is utilized whilst travelling.
FIG. 3 illustrates a button 15 and a cord 16 being utilized as the first fastening mechanism 13, whereas FIG. 5 illustrates the button 15 and the cord 16 being utilized as the second fastening mechanism 14. In utilizing the button 15 and cord 16, the user places the necklace or other large jewelry item on the cord 16 and loops the cord 16 around the button 15. As a result, the necklace or other jewelry item does not get tangled and is securely hung in between the transparent cover 6 and the front surface 100 of the base sheet 1 or the front surface 100 of the flap 2. Even though the button 15 and the cord 16 are utilized in the preferred embodiment of the present invention, a hook and loop fastener or similar fastening mechanism can be utilized in other embodiments of the present invention.
As discussed earlier, the hanging mechanism 9 it utilized to hang the present invention along with the clothing outfit. In the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the hanging mechanism 9 comprises a grommet hole 10 and a tab 11. As seen in FIG. 1 and FIG. 9, the tab 11 is connected adjacent to the base sheet 1 and offset from the flap 2. The grommet hole 10 traverses through the tab 11 such that a hook portion of a clothes hanger can be inserted through the grommet hole 10. As seen in FIG. 6, the hanging mechanism 9 can also comprise a hook 12. Similar to the tab 11 in the preferred embodiment of the present invention, the hook 12 is connected adjacent to the base sheet 1 and is offset from the flap 2. In utilizing the hook 12 as the hanging mechanism 9, the hook 12 is hung on the clothes hanger.
As illustrated in FIG. 7 and FIG. 8, the present invention further comprises a first plurality of aesthetic backings 17 and a second plurality of aesthetic backings 18. Both the first plurality of aesthetic backings 17 and the second plurality of aesthetic backings 18 are utilized to give the present invention a more aesthetically pleasing appearance. For instance, the first plurality of aesthetic backings 17 and the second plurality of aesthetic backings 18 can be utilized to match the decor of a closet. Each of the first plurality of aesthetic backings 17 is positioned within a corresponding pouch 300 from the first plurality of pouches 3. When positioned within the first plurality of pouches 3, each of the first plurality of aesthetic backings 17 is positioned parallel to the front surface 100 of the base sheet 1. The transparent cover 6 of each of the first plurality of pouches 3 allows the user to view both the jewelry items within the first plurality of pouches 3 and the first plurality of aesthetic backings 17.
Similar to the first plurality of aesthetic backings 17, each of the second plurality of aesthetic backings 18 is positioned within a corresponding pouch 300 from the second plurality of pouches 4. As a result, each of the second plurality of aesthetic backings 18 is positioned in parallel to the front surface 100 of the flap 2. The transparent cover 6 of each of the second plurality of pouches 4 allows the user to clearly view both the jewelry items within the second plurality of pouches 4 and also the second plurality of aesthetic backings 18.
In utilizing the present invention the following process flow is followed. Initially, the user selects the jewelry items intended to be worn with a desired clothing outfit. Next the jewelry items are placed within the first plurality of pouches 3 and the second plurality of pouches 4. When placing jewelry items in the first plurality of pouches 3, the user controls the free edge 8 of each of the first plurality of pouches 3 and places the jewelry items within the first plurality of pouches 3 through the opening 5 of each of the first plurality of pouches 3. FIG. 2 and FIG. 4 illustrate the user controlling the free edge 8 in order to utilize the opening 5. Similarly, when placing jewelry items in the second plurality of pouches 4, the user controls the free edge 8 of each of the second plurality of pouches 4 and places the jewelry items within the second plurality of pouches 4 through the opening 5 of each of the second plurality of pouches 4. The first fastening mechanism 13 or the second fastening mechanism 14 is utilized when placing a necklace or a similar jewelry item that has the tendency to tangle. For instance, if the necklace is positioned within a pouch of the first plurality of pouches 3, the necklace is initially positioned on the cord 16 which is then looped around the button 15. A similar procedure is followed when utilizing the second fastening mechanism 14. When the desired jewelry items are placed within the first plurality of pouches 3 and the second plurality of pouches 4, the user hangs the present invention along with the corresponding clothing outfit. In doing so, the user inserts the hook portion of the clothing hanger into the grommet hole 10. If the hanging mechanism 9 comprises the hook 12, the present invention is hung on the clothing hanger with the hook 12 as shown in FIG. 6. As a result, the back surface 200 of the flap 2 lies flush against the clothing outfit. The back surface 200 of the flap 2, as illustrated in FIG. 10, is designed to be smooth such that the clothing outfit is not damaged by the present invention. Additionally, a surface of the backing which is opposite to the base sheet is also smooth to prevent clothing items from being damaged. When removing the jewelry items from either the first plurality of pouches 3 or the second plurality of pouches 4, the user utilizes the opening 5 of each of the first plurality of pouches 3 and each of the second plurality of pouches 4 respectively. Even though the jewelry items were placed within the first plurality of pouches 3 and the second plurality of pouches 4 prior to being hung on the hanger, the steps can be reversed according to user preference. The present invention is made of light-weight material which allows the user to carry the present invention conveniently.
Although the invention has been explained in relation to its preferred embodiment, it is to be understood that many other possible modifications and variations can be made without departing from the spirit and scope of the invention as hereinafter claimed.
