Claims
- 1. A data-storage card comprising:
a data-storage media layer adhering on said card; and said data-storage media layer includes a first data storage means having at least one arc-segment each segment constituting a data track and a linear data storage means for storing data therein.
- 2. The data-storage card of claim 1 wherein:
said first data storage means includes at least two arc-segments disposed near each other.
- 3. The data-storage card of claim 1 wherein:
said linear data storage means includes at least a linear data-storage strip for storing data therein.
- 4. The data-storage card of claim 1 wherein:
said first data storage means further includes a plurality of arc segments formed with a moving center rotating with a constant radius.
- 5. The data-storage card of claim 1 wherein:
said first data storage means further includes a plurality of arc segments formed as spiral segments having a fixed center rotating with continuously varying radius.
- 6. The data-storage card of claim 1 wherein:
said first data storage means further includes a plurality of arc segments formed as spiral segments having a moving center rotating with continuously varying radius.
- 7. The data-storage card of claim 1 wherein:
said first data storage means further includes at least two arc segments of different lengths.
- 8. The data-storage card of claim 1 wherein:
said first data storage means further comprising a circular arc segment.
- 9. The data-storage card of claim 1 wherein:
said first data storage means further comprising a spiral arc segment.
- 10. The data-storage card of claim 1 wherein:
said linear data storage means disposed on a first area on said data-storage card and said arc segment formed as a circular arc segment disposed on a second area opposite said first area on said data-storage card.
- 11. The data-storage card of claim 1 wherein:
said linear data storage means disposed on a first area on said data-storage card and said data arc segment formed as a spiral arc segment disposed on a second area opposite said first area on said data-storage card.
- 12. The data-storage card of claim 8 wherein:
said circular arc segment is an arc segment as part of a circle occupying an area on said data-storage card not overlapping with said linear data storage means.
- 13. The data-storage card of claim 9 wherein:
said spiral arc segment is an arc segment as part of a spiral occupying an area on said data-storage card not overlapping with said linear data storage means.
- 14. The data-storage card of claim 8 wherein:
said circular arc segment is an arc segment as part of a circle occupying an area on said data-storage card overlapping with said linear data storage means.
- 15. The data-storage card of claim 9 wherein:
said spiral arc segment is an arc segment as part of a spiral occupying an area on said data-storage card overlapping with said linear data storage means.
- 16. The data-storage card of claim 1 wherein:
said linear data storage means disposed on a middle portion of said data-storage card and said data arc segment further comprising a first segment disposed on a first side next to said linear data track and a second segment disposed on a second side opposite said first segment next to said linear data track.
- 17. The data-storage card of claim 1 wherein:
said data-storage card is an optical data-storage card and said linear data storage means is an optical linear data track.
- 18. The data-storage card of claim 1 wherein:
said data-storage card is an optical data-storage card and said linear data storage means is an magnetic linear data track.
- 19. The data-storage card of claim 1 wherein:
said data-storage card is a magnetic data-storage card and said linear data storage means is a magnetic linear data track constituting a magnetic strip on said data-storage card.
- 20. The data-storage card of claim 1 wherein:
said data-storage card is a magnetic data-storage card and said linear data storage means is an optical linear data track constituting an optical data strip on said data-storage card.
- 21. The data-storage card of claim 1 wherein:
said data-storage card is a credit card having a first surface for displaying credit card information and a second surface for adhering said data-storage media layer and forming said at least data storage means therein.
- 22. The data-storage card of claim 21 wherein:
said linear data storage means on said second surface of said credit card is readable by a conventional credit card reader.
- 23. The data-storage card of claim 21 wherein:
said data storage means disposed on said second surface of said credit card storing information for preventing a credit card fraud.
- 24. The data-storage card of claim 1 wherein:
said data-storage card is an identification (ID) card having a first surface for displaying ID card information and a second surface for adhering said data-storage media layer and forming said data storage means therein.
- 25. The data-storage card of claim 18 wherein:
said linear data storage means disposed on said second surface of said ID card is readable by a conventional ID card reader.
- 26. The data-storage card of claim 18 wherein:
said data storage means disposed on said second surface of said ID card storing information for preventing an identification fraud.
- 27. The data-storage card of claim 1 wherein:
said arc-segment constituting data track further storing servo control data.
- 28. The data-storage card of claim 2 wherein:
said arc segments each constituting a data track further storing servo-control data at a substantially same relative position on each of said arc segments.
- 29. The data-storage card of claim 28 wherein:
said arc-segments further storing said servo-control data near an edge of said data-storage card in said arc segment.
- 31. A data-storage card comprising:
a data storage strip having at least one arc-segment wherein each arc-segment constituting a data-storage track; and a linear data storage means for storing data therein.
- 32. The data-storage card of claim 31 wherein:
each of said data-storage tracks further comprising circular arc-segments of fixed radius.
- 33. The data-storage card of claim 31 wherein:
each of said data-storage tracks further comprising a spiral arc-segment of varying radius.
- 34. The data-storage card of claim 4 wherein:
each of said data-storage tracks further comprising semicircular arc-segments.
- 35. A data-card drive system comprising:
a pickup head for rotationally moving over and accessing data stored in said data-card having at least two data storage tracks comprising at least an arc-segment and a linear data track for storing data therein.
- 36. The data-card drive system of claim 35 wherein:
said pickup head is provided for reading data from and writing data to said arc-segment and is controlled to skip reading and writing data over said linear data track.
- 37. The data-card drive system of claim 35 wherein:
said pickup head is provided for reading data from and writing data to said arc-segment and said linear data track on said data-card.
- 38. The data-card drive system of claim 35 wherein:
said pickup head is provided for rotating in a single rotational direction.
- 39. The data-card drive system of claim 35 wherein:
said pickup head is provided for rotating in clockwise and counterclockwise directions.
- 40. The data-card drive system of claim 35 wherein:
said pickup head is provided for rotating over a circular segment having radius smaller than half-width of said data-card.

- 49. A data storage card comprising:
a plurality of data arcs disposed on a flat data storage medium; at least a linear data track disposed on said flat data storage medium; and said data arcs further include at least one full circle data track provided with data for conveniently determining a central position of the data card in a data drive system.
- 50. The data arcs of claim 43 wherein:
said full circle data track storing data for obtaining a measurement of an average amplitude of data signals for calibrating a pickup head implemented for reading data from said data arcs.
