Claims
- 1. A data communication apparatus comprising:
a communication section that performs a pre-communication protocol with a destination terminal, and transmits data to the destination terminal after the pre-communication protocol, the pre-communication protocol comprising at least one of a communication protocol for selecting a modulation mode, a communication protocol for line probing, a communication protocol for modem training and a communication protocol for setting a modem parameter; a memory that stores destination terminal data regarding at least one destination terminal, and communication parameters corresponding to each destination terminal, the communication parameters being utilized to perform a communication to the destination terminal; and a controller that, when destination terminal data is stored in said memory, reads the communication parameters corresponding to the destination terminal from said memory, and performs the pre-communication protocol with the destination terminal, using the read communication parameters, and omits at least the communication protocol for line probing, while when destination terminal data is not stored in said memory, performs the pre-communication protocol with the destination terminal, using communication parameters acquired from the destination terminal under the pre-communication protocol without omitting the communication protocol for line probing.
- 2. The data communication apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the communication parameters includes at least one of power reduction value, carrier frequency, optimal training time, and non-linear distortion compensation value.
- 3. The data communication apparatus according to claim 1, wherein said controller determines whether or not the communication destination terminal is stored in said memory based on operation of a key for indicating a memory address of said memory where a destination terminal and communication parameters are stored.
- 4. The data communication apparatus according to claim 1, wherein when communication is established for a first time with a destination terminal having destination terminal data that is not stored in said memory, and when the destination terminal can perform an exclusive short protocol, said controller obtains communication parameters under a normal protocol and stores the communication parameters in said memory.
- 5. The data communication apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising a scanner that scans an original to be transmitted to the destination terminal, and a printer that prints data to be received from a transmitter.
- 6. The data communication apparatus according to claim 5, wherein said scanner and said printer comprise a part of a facsimile apparatus.
- 7. A communication method for communicating data from a data communication apparatus having a memory storing destination terminal data regarding at least one destination terminal and communication parameters corresponding to each destination terminal, the communication parameters being utilized to perform a communication with the destination terminal, the communication method comprising:
performing a pre-communication protocol with the destination terminal, the pre-communication protocol comprising at least one of a communication protocol for selecting a modulation mode, a communication protocol for line probing, a communication protocol for modem training and a communication protocol for setting a modem parameter; and reading the communication parameters corresponding to the destination terminal from the memory when destination terminal data is stored in the memory, and performing the pre-communication protocol with the destination terminal, using the read communication parameters, and omitting at least the communication protocol for line probing, while performing the pre-communication protocol with the destination terminal, using communication parameters acquired from the destination terminal under the pre-communication protocol without omitting the communication protocol for line probing when destination terminal data is not stored in the memory.
