Claims
- 1. An adhesively sealable data disk holder, comprising:
(a) a first panel of heat-sealable material; (b) a second panel of heat-sealable material fused to said first panel and forming a pocket therebetween with an opening suitable for receiving a data disk; (c) a third panel of heat-sealable material disposed between said first and second panels adjacent said opening, said third panel having a first surface fused to said first panel, and a second adhesively coated surface facing said second panel.
- 2. The data disk holder defined in claim 1, wherein said adhesive coating is pressure sensitive, and said adhesively coated surface of said third panel carries an adhesive release sheet over said adhesive coating to prevent adhesion thereof to said second panel until removal of said adhesive release sheet.
- 3. The data disk holder defined in claim 1, wherein said first and second panels have coextensive opening-defining peripheral edge portions, said third panel being disposed between said peripheral edge portions of said first and second panels immediately adjacent said opening.
- 4. The data disk holder defined in claim 3, wherein said opening-defining peripheral edge portions are devoid of an overlying closure flap.
- 5. The data disk holder defined in claim 1, including an adhesive release sheet carried by said adhesively coated surface of said third panel.
- 6. The data disk holder defined in claim 1, wherein said first, second, and third panels are constructed of a thermoplastic material.
- 7. The data disk holder defined in claim 1, wherein said first and second panels have corresponding unsealed opening-defining edge portions, said unsealed edge portions forming an outwardly protruding flange to which said third panel is fused.
- 8. The data disk holder defined in claim 7, including an adhesive release strip carried by said adhesively coated surface of said third panel and extending beyond the confines of said flange to define a tab for grasping and pulling said release strip off said adhesive coating.
- 9. The data disk holder defined in claim 1, wherein said pocket is formed by a peripheral seal between said first and second panels leading to said opening, and said first and second panels include trim portions exterior to said peripheral seal which facilitate trimming and binding of the holder within a bound publication during a bindery process.
- 10. The data disk holder defined in claim 1, wherein said first and second panels include outer severable trim portions which facilitate trimming and binding of said holder within a bound publication during a bindery process.
- 11. The data disk holder defined in claim 1, including an access window formed in one of said first or second panels over said pocket, said window being formed with a tamper resistant scored cut which is readily breakable to gain access to said pocket.
- 12. An adhesively sealable data disk holder, comprising:
(a) first and second panels of plastic material; (b) at least one seal connecting said first and second panels together and forming an interior pocket therebetween with an opening to the exterior; (c) a third panel of plastic material disposed between said first and second panels adjacent said opening, said third panel being secured at one surface to said first panel, and having an adhesive coating applied to at least a portion of an opposing surface facing said second panel; and (d) an adhesive release strip carried by said third panel and covering said adhesive coating to prevent premature sealing of said opening.
- 13. The data disk holder defined in claim 12, wherein said second and third panels are thermally fused to said first panel, and said adhesive release strip constitutes an insulator preventing thermal fusion of said second panel to said third panel.
- 14. The data disk holder defined in claim 13, wherein said second and third panels are thermally fused to said first panel simultaneously.
- 15. The data disk holder defined in claim 12, including peripheral trim portions carried by at least one of said first and second panels to facilitate trimming and binding of the holder within a bound publication during a bindery process.
- 16. The data disk holder defined in claim 12, including a tamper resistant security window cut into at least one of said first and second panels over said pocket.
- 17. The data disk holder defined in claim 16, wherein said window is formed by a scored cut, whereby portions of said window and said panel within which said window is cut remain connected until broken apart.
- 18. A method of manufacturing an adhesively sealable data disk holder, comprising:
(a) providing first and second panels of heat-sealable material; (b) providing a third panel of heat-sealable material having an adhesively coated surface; (c) forming at least one heat-seal fusing said first and second panels together in such manner as to define an interior pocket therebetween with an opening to the exterior, said pocket being suitable for holding a data disk therein; and (d) forming at least one heat-seal fusing said third panel to said first panel adjacent said opening with said adhesively coated surface facing said second panel.
- 19. The method of claim 18, wherein step (c) and step (d) are conducted simultaneously.
- 20. The method of claim 18, wherein said step of providing a third panel of heat-sealable material includes the use of a pressure sensitive adhesive for said adhesive coating.
- 21. The method of claim 20, wherein said step of providing a third panel of heat-sealable material includes providing said third panel with an adhesive release strip disposed over said pressure sensitive adhesive coating.
- 22. The method of claim 21, wherein step (c) and step (d) are conducted simultaneously, and said adhesive release strip insulates said second panel from thermal fusion to said third panel.
- 23. The method of claim 18, including the step of forming in at least one of said first and second panels a tamper resistant security access window to said pocket.
- 24. The method of claim 23, wherein said step of forming said access window includes scoring an area of said panel within which it is formed over said pocket.
- 25. The method of claim 18, wherein said step of forming at least one heat-seal between said first and second panels includes forming outer panel trim portions exterior to said at least one heat-seal for facilitating trimming and binding of the data disk holder within a bound publication.
