Claims
- 1. A decentralized casing hole puncher for forming holes through a pipe string, comprising:
- (a) a centrally located solid shaft extending the entire length of said hole puncher;
- (b) a plurality of spaced apart hanger means sleeved on said shaft;
- (c) at least one elongated relatively rigid charge mounting means having its respective longitudinal ends affixed to a pair of said hanger means and extending therebetween for mounting explosive charges;
- (d) a biasing means mounted on and extending from said shaft for biasing said mounting means radially outwardly thereby moving said explosive charges mounted in said charge mounting means in relation to the inner surface of said pipe string; and
- (e) an adjusting means to adjust the biasing force exerted by said biasing means.
- 2. A decentralized casing hole puncher for forming holes through a pipe string, comprising:
- (a) a centrally located solid shaft extending the entire length of said hole puncher;
- (b) a plurality of spaced apart hanger means sleeved on said shaft;
- (c) a plurality of elongated relatively rigid charge mounting means having their respective longitudinal ends affixed to a pair of said hanger means and extending therebetween for mounting explosive charges wherein each of said mounting means having at least one explosive charge mounted therein and a plurality of biasing means wherein each of said biasing means being adapted to independently bias each of said mounting means; and
- (d) a biasing means mounted on and extending from said shaft for biasing said mounting means radially outwardly thereby moving said explosive charges mounted in said charge mounting means in relation to the inner surface of said pipe string.
- 3. The decentralized casing hole puncher of claim 2 further comprises a plurality of adjusting means each being adapted to independently adjust the biasing force exerted by one of said biasing means.
- 4. The decentralized casing hole puncher of claim 3 wherein each of said biasing means is an elongated spring member.
- 5. The decentralized casing hole puncher of claim 4 wherein said adjusting means comprising:
- (a) a nut member sleeved upon said shaft, said nut member having a plurality of female threaded holes formed on its radially outer periphery;
- (b) a hole in each of said spring members; and
- (c) a plurality of cap screws each being adapted to penetrate through said holes in both said spring member and said nut member and capable of forcing said spring member against said nut member by a threaded engagement with said female threaded hole in said nut member.
- 6. A decentralized casing hole puncher for forming holes through a pipe string, comprising:
- (a) a centrally located solid shaft extending the entire length of said hole puncher;
- (b) a plurality of spaced apart hanger means sleeved on said shaft; and
- (c) at least one elongated relatively rigid charge mounting means having its respective longitudinal ends affixed to a pair of said hanger means and extending therebetween for mounting explosive charges wherein said mounting means comprises a biwire having two legs extending through the explosive charges.
- 7. A decentralized casing hole puncher for forming holes through a pipe string, comprising:
- (a) a centrally located solid shaft extending the entire length of said hole puncher;
- (b) a plurality of spaced apart hanger means sleeved on said shaft; and
- (c) at least one elongated relatively rigid charge mounting means having its respective longitudinal ends affixed to a pair of said hanger means and extending therebetween for mounting explosive charges wherein said mounting means comprises a formwire having two legs, said legs being curved at various locations to form a plurality of pairs of conjugated semi-loops for clippingly mounting the explosive charges.
- 8. A decentralized casing hole puncher for forming holes through a pipe string, comprising:
- (a) a centrally located solid shaft extending the entire length of said hole puncher;
- (b) a plurality of spaced apart hanger means sleeved on said shaft; and
- (c) at least one elongated relatively rigid charge mounting means having its respective longitudinal ends affixed to a pair of said hanger means and extending therebetween for mounting explosive charges wherein said mounting means comprises a strip charge which is an elongated metal strip member having a plurality of threaded holes for threadably mounting the explosive charges.
- 9. A decentralize casing hole puncher for forming holes through a pipe string, comprising:
- (a) a centrally located solid shaft extending the entire length of said hole puncher;
- (b) a plurality of spaced apart hanger means sleeved on said shaft; and
- (c) at least one elongated relatively rigid charge mounting means having its respective longitudinal ends affixed to a pair of said hanger means and extending therebetween for mounting explosive charges wherein said mounting means comprises a hollow carrier which is a sealable hollow metal tube containing explosive charges therein.
- 10. A decentralized casing hole puncher for forming holes through a pipe string, comprising:
- (a) a centrally located solid shaft extending the entire length of said hole puncher;
- (b) a plurality of spaced apart hanger means sleeved on said shaft wherein said hanger means comprises a disk having a diameter less than the inner diameter of said pipe string and wherein said disk being rotatably sleeved on said central shaft for spiraling said mounting means thereby capable of changing the phasing of said explosive charges; and
- (c) at least one elongated relatively rigid charge mounting means having its respective longitudinal ends affixed to a pair of said hanger means and extending therebetween for mounting explosive charges.
- 11. A decentralized casing hole puncher for forming holes through a pipe string, comprising:
- (a) a centrally located solid shaft extending the entire length of said hole puncher;
- (b) a plurality of spaced apart hanger means sleeved on said shaft wherein said hanger means comprises a disk having a diameter less than the inner diameter of said pipe string and wherein said disk comprises a plurality of keys on the radially outer periphery and extending therebeyond to prevent said disk from being stuck in interstic between pipe strings; and
- (c) at least one elongated relatively rigid charge mounting means having its respective longitudinal ends affixed to a pair of said hanger means and extending therebetween for mounting explosive charges.
- 12. A decentralized casing hole puncher for forming holes through a pipe string, comprising:
- (a) a centrally located solid shaft extending the entire length of said hole puncher;
- (b) a plurality of spaced apart hanger means sleeved on said shaft wherein said hanger means comprises a disk having a diameter less than the inner diameter of said pipe string and wherein said disk containing a plurality of debris holes adapted to allow fluids to flow therethrough and thereby facilitating the movement of said casing hole puncher upwardly and downwardly in said pipe; and
- (c) at least one elongated relatively rigid charge mounting means having its respective longitudinal ends affixed to a pair of said hanger means and extending therebetween for mounting explosive charges.
- 13. A decentralized casing hole puncher for forming holes through a pipe string, comprising:
- (a) a centrally located solid shaft extending the entire length of said hole puncher;
- (b) a plurality of spaced apart hanger means sleeved on said shaft wherein said hanger means comprises a disk having a diameter less than the inner diameter of said pipe string and wherein said disk further containing radially elongated slots formed therein adapted to allow the adjustment of the disposition of said charge mounting means in relation to said central shaft; and
- (c) at least one elongated relatively rigid charge mounting means having its respective longitudinal ends affixed to a pair of said hanger means and extending therebetween for mounting explosive charges.
- 14. A decentralized casing hole puncher for forming holes through a pipe string, comprising:
- (a) a centrally located solid shaft extending the entire length of said hole puncher;
- (b) a plurality of spaced apart hanger means sleeved on said shaft;
- (c) a plurality of elongated relatively rigid charge mounting means having their respective longitudinal ends affixed to a pair of said hanger means and extending therebetween for mounting explosive charges wherein said mounting means further comprising a pair of wear plates each being mounted near a longitudinal end thereof to provide a minimum clearance between the explosive charges and the inner surface of said pipe string; and
- (d) a biasing means mounted on and extending from said shaft for biasing said mounting means radially outwardly thereby moving said explosive charges mounted in said charge mounting means in relation to the inner surface of said pipe string.
- 15. A decentralized casing hole puncher for forming holes through a pipe string, comprising:
- (a) a centrally located solid shaft extending the entire length of said hole puncher wherein at least a portion of said central shaft is threaded;
- (b) a plurality of spaced apart hanger means sleeved on said shaft; and
- (c) at least one elongated relatively rigid charge mounting means having its respective longitudinal ends affixed to a pair of said hanger means and extending therebetween for mounting explosive charges.
- 16. The decentralized casing hole puncher of claim 15 further comprises first lock means to secure said hanger means on said shaft.
- 17. The decentralized casing hole puncher of claim 16 wherein said first lock means comprises a pair of nuts threadably sleeved upon said central shaft to lock said hanger means by pressing said hanger means from opposite directions.
- 18. The decentralized casing hole puncher of claim 15 further comprises a second lock means to secure said casing hole puncher on said shaft.
- 19. The decentralized casing hole puncher of claim 18 wherein said second lock means comprises:
- (a) a pair of hubs threadably sleeved upon said central shaft from above and below said casing hole puncher;
- (b) a plurality of of arms fixedly connecting each of said hub with a respective hanger means; and
- (c) a pair of nuts for locking said hub on said shaft.
- 20. A decentralized casing hole puncher for forming holes through a pipe string, comprising:
- (a) a centrally located solid shaft extending the entire length of said hole puncher;
- (b) a plurality of spaced apart hanger means sleeved on said shaft;
- (c) at least one elongated relatively rigid charge mounting means having its respective longitudinal ends affixed to a pair of said hanger means and extending therebetween for mounting explosive charges; and
- (d) a buffer means to dampen pressure shocks caused by explosion of said explosive charges mounted in said mounting means.
- 21. The decentralized casing hole puncher of claim 20 wherein said buffer means comprises a pair of disks at the top and bottom ends of said casing hole puncher or a hollow metal tube enclosing the entire casing hole puncher.
