The present invention relates generally to the field of hair accessories. More specifically, the present invention relates to a decorative hair accessory device primarily comprised of a body with at least one decorative element and at least one pin. The decorative element may be removably or fixedly attached to the body. The body is comprised of a first opening and a second opening. At least one pin can be placed through both openings and the hair of the user to secure the device to the hair of the user. The body is preferably flexible such that it can be applied around any size, shape, and style of hair. Accordingly, the present disclosure makes specific reference thereto. Nonetheless, it is to be appreciated that aspects of the present invention are also equally applicable to other like applications, devices, and methods of manufacture.
Individuals with certain hairstyles such as dreadlocks, braids, or other thick, curly hairstyles may have trouble applying different types of accessories to their hair. This is because existing hair accessory products are not designed for people who wear these types of hairstyles or have certain hair textures. As a result, many individuals with these hairstyles cannot wear hair accessories.
Therefore, there exists a long-felt need in the art for an improved hair accessory. There also exists a long-felt need in the art for a decorative hair accessory device that enhances the visual appearance of a wearer's hair. Further, there exists a long-felt need in the art for a decorative hair accessory device that can be used with hairstyles such as, but not limited to, dreadlocks, braids, or other thick, curly hairstyles.
The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a decorative hair accessory device. The device is primarily comprised of a body with at least one decorative element and at least one pin. The body and decorative element may have any aesthetic appearance.
In this manner, the decorative hair accessory device of the present invention accomplishes all of the foregoing objectives and provides an improved hair accessory. During use, the device enhances the visual appearance of a wearer's hair. Further, the device provides a novel hair accessory that can be used with hairstyles such as, but not limited to, dreadlocks, braids, or other thick, curly hairstyles.
The following presents a simplified summary in order to provide a basic understanding of some aspects of the disclosed innovation. This summary is not an extensive overview, and it is not intended to identify key/critical elements or to delineate the scope thereof. Its sole purpose is to present some general concepts in a simplified form as a prelude to the more detailed description that is presented later.
The subject matter disclosed and claimed herein, in one embodiment thereof, comprises a decorative hair accessory device. The device is primarily comprised of a body with at least one decorative element and at least one pin. The body may be made from a plurality of materials in differing embodiments. In one embodiment, the body is made from a durable leather, synthetic leather material, suede, synthetic suede, etc. The body may also be made from a flexible or rigid plastic material. In another embodiment, the body is made from a fabric material. The body may be infused with at least one compound such as, but not limited to, hair oil, conditioner, etc. In this manner, the device can be passively worn in a decorative and functional fashion.
The top surface of the body (or any area of the body) may be any color known in the art. The top surface may also be comprised of at least one indicia such as, but not limited to, patterns, logos, emblems, images, symbols, designs, letters, numbers, words, characters, animals, advertisements, brands, etc.
The body may be comprised of at least one cording opening that allows at least one cording to be woven around the body in a decorative manner. In one embodiment, the cord opening may not receive cording and instead, functions to allow air to pass through the device for breathability.
The device is also comprised of at least one decorative element that may be fixedly attached to the top surface. In another embodiment, the decorative element is removably attached to the top surface via the cording that is fed through at least one opening of the decorative element and at least one of the cord openings.
In another embodiment, the decorative element removably attaches to the top surface via at least one reciprocating fastener on the top surface and element. The fasteners may be any type known in the art such as, but not limited to, hook and loop, magnet, snap button, adhesive, zipper, etc. In this manner, different bodies and decorative elements can be combined to achieve unique aesthetic combinations.
The decorative element may have a plurality of appearances and shapes such as, but not limited to, a pattern, a logo, an emblem, an image, a symbol, a design, a letter, a word, a character, an animal, an advertisement, or a brand.
The body is also comprised of a first opening and a second opening. Both openings are preferably in line with one another to allow at least one pin to be placed through both openings. The pin secures the device to the hair of the user. The pin can be placed through, around, within, etc., individual strands of hair and through both openings. As a result, the flexible nature of the body accommodates any hairstyle. The pin then allows the body to be attached to any type of hairstyle.
Accordingly, the decorative hair accessory device of the present invention is particularly advantageous as it provides an improved hair accessory that can be used with hairstyles such as, but not limited to, dreadlocks, braids, or other thick, curly hairstyles. During use, the device also enhances the visual appearance of a wearer's hair. Further, the device provides a novel hair accessory. In this manner, the decorative hair accessory device overcomes the limitations of existing hair accessories known in the art.
