Claims
- 1. A denitration catalyst, the catalytically active component thereof consisting essentially of the following component A or a mixture of the following component A and the following component B; said component A being a titanium-tungsten oxide obtained by coprecipitating a soluble titanium compound and a soluble tungsten compound from an aqueous medium at a temperature of 60.degree. C. or less and a pH in the range of from 5 to 8, and drying and calcining the resulting coprecipitate; and component B is an oxide of at least one element selected from the group consisting of cerium, lanthanum, praseodymium, neodymium, nickel and tin.
- 2. In a process for removing nitrogen oxides from an exhaust gas containing said nitrogen oxides, using ammonia or a compound forming ammonia by its decomposition as a reducing agent and a denitration catalyst, the improvement comprising using a denitration catalyst as set forth in claim 30 as said denitration catalyst.
