Claims
- 1. A method for deodorizing an odorous material which comprises oxidizing the odorous material to an odorless material in the presence of a catalyst of the formula ##STR12## wherein M represents a transition metal element, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each represent a divalent aromatic radical, and R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 each represent a monovalent aromatic or heterocyclic radical.
- 2. A method according to claim 1, wherein the catalyst changes an odorous material to an odorless material in air.
- 3. A method according to claim 1, wherein M is Mn, Fe, Co, Ni or Cu.
- 4. A method according to claim 1, wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are divalent aromatic radicals derived from a compound of the formula ##STR13##
- 5. A method according to claim 1, wherein R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are monovalent aromatic or heterocyclic radicals derived from a compound of the formula ##STR14##
- 6. A method for deodorizing an odorous material which comprises oxidizing the odorous material to an odorless material in the presence of a catalyst of the formula ##STR15## wherein M represents a transition metal element, R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 each represent a divalent aromatic radical, and R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 each represent a monovalent aromatic or heterocyclic radical.
- 7. A method according to claim 6, wherein the catalyst changes an odorous material to an odorless material in air.
- 8. A method according to claim 6, wherein M is Mn, Fe, Co, Ni or Cu.
- 9. A method according to claim 6, wherein R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are monovalent radicals derived from a nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compounds.
- 10. A method according to claim 6, wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2 are divalent aromatic radicals derived from a compound of the formula ##STR16##
- 11. A method according to claim 6, wherein R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 are monovalent aromatic or heterocyclic radicals derived from a compound of the formula ##STR17##
