To existing nail beds using adhesive and cannot be removed without the use of chemical solvents. What is needed is a detachable nail that can be removed when performing delicate or difficult tasks such as when typing or removing contact lenses etc. as well as to have the ability to change nail color and/or design quickly or as frequently as a user desires.
The device herein disclosed and described provides a solution to the shortcomings in the prior art through the disclosure of a detachable, artificial finger nail An object of the detachable artificial nail system is to allow users to attach or detach artificial nails at the user’s discretion. For example, a person is interested in pulling weeds but does not want to ruin decorative, artificial nails. They simply detach (unclick) each nail by pushing down and then prying up on the nail and proceed with weed pulling. When finished, they simply re-attach the artificial nails by pushing them down onto the existing nail until a click is heard.
Another object of the nail system is to allow users to swap out a multitude of different artificial nails having various colors, finishes and shapes. For example, a teenager prefers to have a nail color to match an outfit. They simply unclick the artificial nails and install new artificial nails having colors that match the outfit. No hazardous chemicals, monomers, or adhesives are needed for these swaps.
Another object of the invention is to provide an audio cue that an artificial nail has been properly installed. The nail system includes a base that engages the artificial nail and when a nail is properly installed or is ready to be pried up for removal, a small click noise can be heard. If the click does not occur then the artificial nail is not secure or ready for removal.
It is briefly noted that upon reading this disclosure, those skilled in the are will recognize various means for carrying out these intended features of the invention. As such it is to be understood that other methods, applications and systems adapted to the task may be configured to carry out these features and are therefore considered to be within the scope and intent of the present invention, and are anticipated. With respect to the above description, before explaining at least one preferred embodiment of the herein disclosed invention in detail, it is to be understood that the invention is not limited in its application to the details of construction and to the arrangement of the components in the following description or illustrated in the drawings. The invention herein described is capable of other embodiments and of being practiced and carried out in various ways which will be obvious to those skilled in the art. Also, it is to be understood that the phraseology and terminology employed herein are for the purpose of description and should not be regarded as limiting.

While all of the fundamental characteristics and features of the invention have been shown and described herein, with reference to particular embodiments thereof, a latitude of modification, various changes and substitutions are intended in the foregoing disclosure and it will be apparent that in some instances, some features of the invention may be employed without a corresponding use of other features without departing from the scope of the invention as set forth.
