The following includes information that may be useful in understanding the present disclosure. It is not an admission that any of the information provided herein is prior art nor material to the presently described or claimed inventions, nor that any publication or document that is specifically or implicitly referenced is prior art.
The present invention relates generally to the field of hat or cap attachments of existing art and more specifically relates to having crown and horizontally extending visor.
People often wear baseball-style caps to display ‘fandom’ for specific sports teams, brands, and/or styles. Many people typically own numerous types of hats for different outfits, sporting events, and the like. It may be difficult to keep hats clean while eating and drinking. Furthermore, the hat visor tends to be handled more and therefore wears quicker than the cap portion. As a result of dirt and wear, people are forced to replace their hat completely, which is undesirable. The typical one piece baseball style hat limits the ability to display different graphics and colors. A suitable solution is desired.
U.S. Pat. No. 6,557,180 to McKenzie relates to a hat with a reversible crown and detachable, reversible visor. The described hat with reversible crown and detachable, reversible visor includes a headwear assembly includes a reversible crown, shaped to fit the head of a wearer with a prong buckle, fabric with hook and loop fasteners, fabric ties, plastic, one-size-fits-all or other size adjustment mechanisms, having first and second opposing major surfaces and a detachable and reversible single visor with first and second opposing major surfaces.
In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the known hat or cap attachments of existing art and more specifically relates to hats having a crown and horizontally extending visor art, the present disclosure provides a novel detachable brim ball cap system. The general purpose of the present disclosure, which will be described subsequently in greater detail, is to provide a detachable brim ball cap system.
A detachable brim ball cap system is disclosed herein. The detachable brim ball cap system includes a cap body and a visor brim. The cap body and visor brim are removably couplable via the at least one primary connector and at least one secondary connector. The cap body and visor brim work together in functional combination for providing a means by which to cover a head and shade the eyes of a wearer. The cap body and visor brim work together in functional combination for providing a means by which to display team logos, colors, and other graphical information.
The cap body in preferred embodiments has a connector flap having at least one primary connector. The visor brim has a visor inner support having, at least one secondary connector; and a visor outer covering having an anti-fraying strip, and at least one sleeve opening. The at least one sleeve opening provides access to insert the visor inner support. The visor outer covering extends to cover the full length of the visor inner support. The anti-fray strip provides a means by which to reduce fraying on the at least one sleeve opening. The at least one secondary connector opening is for accessing the at least one secondary connector. The connector flap and at least one secondary connector work together in functional combination to rigidly mount the visor brim and to seal the at least one sleeve opening of the visor outer covering when the visor brim is connected to the cap body. The visor outer covering and visor inner support work together in functional combination for providing a means by which to form a slim cavity for providing a means by which to store items.
According to another embodiment, a detachable brim ball cap system is also disclosed herein which includes a reversible visor outer covering. In this embodiment, the visor outer covering is made of a washable material. Also in this embodiment, the connector flap includes a plurality of primary connectors and the visor inner support includes a plurality of secondary connectors. According to this embodiment the plurality of primary connectors are snaps and the plurality of secondary connectors are snaps. Alternate embodiments may include various connectors such as buttons, zippers, magnets or hook and loop (VELCRO).
According to a further embodiment the visor brim includes an LED assembly for illuminating the cap body. According to a further embodiment the visor brim is a single interchangeable unit comprising of the visor inner support and the visor outer covering.
According to yet a further embodiment the visor outer covering is interchangeable. According to another further embodiment the detachable brim ball cap system is sold with a plurality of visor brims.
According to a further embodiment the visor brim contains side curtains for shielding the eyes wherein the side curtains contain a primary hook and loop connector. In this embodiment the visor outer covering has a secondary hook and loop connector for retracting and securing the side curtains under the visor brim.
In yet another embodiment, the least one primary connector is a hook and loop connector mechanism and the at least one secondary connector is a hook and loop design.
