This disclosure relates to urine diverters in waterless or composting toilets. This disclosure relates to urine diverters that separate urine, liquid waste, and feces, solid waste, for the purpose of separating liquid waste and solid waste in a waterless or composting toilet.
A urine diverter separates urine, liquid waste, and feces, solid waste, for the purpose of separating liquid waste and solid waste in waterless or composting toilets. Although existing urine diverters are suitable for some composting or waterless toilets, they are cumbersome, expensive, and can be integrated into the solid waste vessel making them difficult to clean or impossible replace. Therefore, what is clearly needed is a urine diverter that solves the problems mentioned above. The present invention achieves this by being easy to attached and detached, making it easy to clean, easy to replace, while being suitable for most any waste solid vessel, such as a common five gallon bucket or similar.
According to the principle of the inventions, a urine diverter may include an attachment which may be comprised of clips or tracks that allow the attachment and detachment to a main solid waste vessel. The urine diverter may include a bowl that catches and directs the liquid waste to divert it to another vessel other than the solid waste vessel. The liquid waste may be directed to an aperture within the bowl of the urine diverter that has a tube that carries the liquid waste to a vessel other than the solid waste vessel by gravity. The liquid waste may be directed to an aperture within the bowl of the urine diverter that does not have a tube that carries the liquid waste directly to a vessel other than the solid vessel by gravity.
In various embodiments, where the urine diverter's attachments attach to the solid waste vessel of the composting or waterless toilet may be clips or tracks which may be connected in various ways. Moreover, in various embodiments, the clips or tracks may be snaps, hook and loop, magnetic, friction clips, slide on tracks, hooks, tape, adhesive, screws, nails, etc.
In various embodiments, where the collection of liquid waste occurs, the bowl may be any suitable shape. Moreover, in various embodiments, the bowl may be round or a different geometry, such as oblong, trapezoidal, square, etc. The example illustrations show funnel concave geometry as the example.
The urine diverter may be comprised of plastic or any suitable material.
In various embodiments, a urine diverter may be seated on top of a solid waste vessel. In various embodiments, a urine diverter may be seated within a void of a solid waste vessel. In various embodiments, a urine diverter may be outside and detached from a solid waste vessel for remote use.
In various embodiments, a urine diverter may have a ventilation aperture for ventilation which may allow a hose or ventilation attachment that may be attached and may have an exhaust fan which draws odors from the composting or waterless toilet to an outside environment.
Where the urine diverter's 100 attachments 110 attach to the solid waste vessel 400 of the composting or waterless toilet 450 may be clips or tracks which may be connected in various ways in different embodiments. The clips or tracks may be snaps, hook and loop, magnetic, friction clips, slide on tracks, hooks, tape, adhesive, screws, nails, etc.
Where the collection of liquid waste occurs, the bowl 120 may be any suitable shape. The bowl 120 may be round or a different geometry, such as oblong, trapezoidal, square, etc. The example illustrations show funnel concave geometry as the example.
The urine diverter 100 may be comprised of plastic or any suitable material.
In some embodiments a urine diverter 100 may be seated on top of a solid waste vessel 400.
Where the urine diverter's attachments 210 attach to the solid waste vessel 500 of the composting or waterless toilet 550 may be clips or tracks which may be connected in various ways in different embodiments. The clips or tracks may be snaps, hook and loop, magnetic, friction clips, slide on tracks, hooks, tape, adhesive, screws, nails, etc.
Where the collection of liquid waste occurs, the bowl 220 may be any suitable shape. The bowl 220 may be round or a different geometry, such as oblong, trapezoidal, square, etc. The example illustrations show funnel concave geometry as the example.
The urine diverter 200 may be comprised of plastic or any suitable material.
In some embodiments a urine diverter 200 may be seated within a void 510 of a solid waste vessel 500.
In some embodiments a urine diverter 200 may have a ventilation aperture 250 for ventilation which may allow a hose 260 or ventilation attachment 270 that may be attached and may have an exhaust fan which draws odors from the composting or waterless toilet 550 to an outside environment.
Where the urine diverter's attachments 310 attach to a wall or post may be clips or tracks which may be connected in various ways in different embodiments. The clips or tracks may be snaps, hook and loop, magnetic, friction clips, slide on tracks, hooks, tape, adhesive, screws, nails, etc.
Where the collection of liquid waste occurs, the bowl 320 may be any suitable shape. The bowl 320 may be round or a different geometry, such as oblong, trapezoidal, square, etc. The example illustrations show funnel concave geometry as the example.
The urine diverter 300 may be comprised of plastic or any suitable material.
In some embodiments a urine diverter 300 may be outside and detached from a solid waste vessel 500 for remote use.
