Claims
- 1. A developing apparatus, comprising:
a developer container containing a magnetic developer comprising a toner and a wax contained in the toner, first and second developer carrying members rotatably provided in the developer container, for carrying the magnetic developer, a regulation member for regulating a thickness of a layer of the magnetic developer carried, on the first developer carrying member, and magnetic field generation means for generating a magnetic field for transferring the magnetic developer from said first developer carrying member to said second developer carrying member, wherein wherein a common electrostatic latent image formed on an image bearing member is developed with the developer carried on said first developer carrying member and the developer carried on said second developer carrying member in this order.
- 2. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the toner contains the wax in an amount of 1-20 wt. %.
- 3. An apparatus according to claim 2, wherein the toner is prepared by kneading at least binder resin and the wax and then pulverizing a resultant kneaded product.
- 4. An apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the developer container comprises a developing chamber provided with the first developer carrying member, a stirring chamber located below the developing chamber and provided with the second developer carrying member, and a communicating portion for drawing the developer detached from the second developer carrying member from the stirring chamber into the developer chamber.
- 5. An apparatus according to any one of claims 1-4, wherein the developer comprises a nonmagnetic toner as the toner and a magnetic carrier.
- 6. An apparatus according to claim 5, wherein the magnetic field generation means comprises a first magnetic pole fixedly disposed within the first developer carrying member so as to be closer to the second developer carrying member, a second magnetic pole fixedly disposed within the second developer carrying member and having a polarity opposite to the first developer carrying member so as to be closer to the first developer carrying member, and a third magnetic pole fixedly disposed within the second developer carrying member and located upstream of the second magnetic pole in a rotation direction of the second developer carrying member so as to form a repulsive magnetic field with the second magnetic pole.
- 7. An apparatus according to claim 6, wherein the magnetic field generation means causes the developer carried on the first and second developer carrying members to contact the image bearing member by erecting a chain of the developer.
- 8. An apparatus according to claim 7, wherein the first and second developer carrying members are supplied with a DC voltage biased with an AC voltage.
- 9. A developing apparatus, comprising:
a developer container containing a magnetic developer comprising a toner and a wax contained in the toner, a first rotating member and a second rotating member each provided to the developer container while carrying the magnetic developer, a regulation member for regulating a thickness of a layer of the magnetic developer carried on the first rotating member, and magnetic field generation means for generating a magnetic field transferring the magnetic developer after being regulated by the regulation member from the rotating carrying member to the second rotating member, wherein an electrostatic latent image formed on an image bearing member is developed by supplying the developer from the second rotating member without supplying the developer from the first rotating member.
