Claims
- 1. A magnetic brush development station for a reproduction apparatus, said magnetic brush development station comprises:a housing forming, at least in part, a reservoir for developer material; a development roller mounted within said housing for delivering developer material from said reservoir to a development zone adjacent to said magnetic brush development station; and a plurality of augers located in said housing for mixing developer material within said reservoir, and a drive for said plurality of augers, wherein said drive includes an assembly having a body extending through said development station housing, a plurality of bearings positioned in said body with a spacer between said plurality of bearings, an auger drive member, a rotatable shaft connected between said plurality of augers and said auger drive member and supported by said bearings, and a seal for said rotatable shaft, said seal having a lip formed of a material which is able to stretch sufficiently to maintain sealing contact with said rotatable shaft while said shaft is being rotated by said auger drive member.
- 2. The magnetic brush development station according to claim 1, wherein said body is substantially cylindrical.
- 3. The magnetic brush development station according to claim 2, wherein said substantially cylindrical body has an integral lip formed thereby to locate said bearings relative to said rotatable shaft.
- 4. The magnetic brush development station according to claim 2, wherein said substantially cylindrical body includes a ring supported by said body to locate said bearings relative to said rotatable shaft.
- 5. The magnetic brush development station according to claim 2, wherein said substantially cylindrical body has an integral lip formed thereby, and includes a ring supported by said body so as to locate said bearings relative to said rotatable shaft between said integral lip and said ring.
- 6. The magnetic brush development station according to claim 1, wherein said seal is located on said rotatable shaft and directed toward the interior side of said housing forming said reservoir.
- 7. The magnetic brush development station according to claim 1, wherein said seal is heat and/or wear resistant.
