Claims
- 1. A device for connecting doors which provides a sealed connection of a first stationary chamber and a second removable and transportable chamber which are isolated from an external medium and at least one of which has contents therein, wherein in said device:each chamber has an access opening equipped with a door cooperating with sealing means and a flange forming a stationary frame, one door being articulated to its flange and each door having a face; and, each door having means of locking to their respective flange and complementary connecting means which, before the contents of one of the first and second chamber have been transferred into the other one of the first and second chamber, and while the flanges are locked together in a sealed manner, allow the doors to be connected thereby forming, through contact of sealing means, an internal space isolating their faces now in contact from the external medium; wherein the complementary connecting means includes a network of ducts formed in one door, the network of ducts opening into said internal space and connected to a source of vacuum to create a partial vacuum in the network of ducts, the network of ducts being in communication with a sensor that measures the strength of the partial vacuum in the network of ducts.
- 2. A device according to claim 1, further comprising a lever for actuating the complementary connecting means, wherein the source of vacuum is actuated by the lever.
- 3. A device according to claim 1, further comprising a source of pressurized air connected to the network of ducts.
- 4. A device according to claim 1, wherein the sensor reacts to an alarm when the partial vacuum in the network of ducts does not reach a predetermined value.
- 5. A device according to claim 4, wherein, upon the sensor reacting to the alarm, the complementary connecting means is prevented from actuation.
- 6. A device according to claim 1, wherein the complementary connecting means includes portions of the doors being formed to define magnetic attraction therebetween.
- 7. A device according to claim 1, wherein one of the doors includes a continuous protruding ridge with a portion of the respective door being recessed adjacent to the ridge, the portion being positioned for engagement with a second of the doors such that the portion limits the extent by which the ridge may overlap the second door.
