Claims
- 1. A gas burner installation comprising:
- housing means formed with an air intake at atmospheric pressure, a combustion chamber, a passage connecting said intake with said combustion chamber and a passage connected to said combustion chamber for discharging combustion gases;
- a gas supply conduit opening into said housing in the region of said combustion chamber for supplying fuel gas thereto;
- a flow control member cooperating with one of said passages and displaceable to control the air flow from said intake to said combustion chamber, said member being provided with means for displacing said member as a function of the air flow rate;
- sensing means responsive to the gas flow in said conduit; and
- means connected to said sensing means for displacing said member so as to maintain a substantially constant ratio of air to fuel gas supplied to said combustion chamber, said flow control member being formed as a rotatable flap, said passage between said intake and said combustion chamber being provided with a flow constricting disk connected to said flap, said sensing means including a manometer responsive to a gas pressure differential and connected to said disk.
- 2. The installation defined in claim 1 wherein said manometer comprises a membrane formed in a chamber and means connecting said membrane to said disk, compartments on opposite sides of said membrane being connected to opposite sides of an orifice formed in said gas supply conduit.
- 3. The installation defined in claim 1 wherein said conduit is provided with an orifice and said sensing means responds to the pressure differential across said orifice.
- 4. The installation defined in claim 3 wherein said passage is adapted to communicate with an air blower.
- 5. The installation defined in claim 1 wherein said passage is adapted to communicate with an air blower.
- 6. A gas burner installation comprising:
- housing means formed with an air intake at atmospheric pressure, a combustion chamber, a passage connecting said intake with said combustion chamber and a passage connected to said combustion chamber for discharging combustion gases;
- a gas supply conduit opening into said housing in the region of said combustion chamber for supplying fuel gas thereto;
- a flow control member cooperating with one of said passages and displaceable to control the air flow from said intake to said combustion chamber, said member being provided with means for displacing said member as a function of the air flow rate;
- sensing means responsive to the gas pressure in said conduit; and
- means connected to said sensing means for displacing said member so as to maintain a substantially constant ratio of air to fuel gas supplied to said combustion chamber, said conduit being provided with an orifice in said sensing means responding to the pressure differential across said orifice, said sensing means including a chamber subdivided by a diaphragm into a pair of compartments each in fluid communication with a respective one of said orifice, said diaphragm being connected to said member.
- 7. The installation defined in claim 6 wherein said diaphragm is connected to said flap via said flow-constricting disk.
