Claims
- 1. A device for supporting objects for drying comprising:
a) a catch basin; b) a first adjustable rack having a front end and a back end wherein said back end is attached to said catch basin and wherein said first adjustable rack is for supporting the objects; c) a second adjustable rack rotatably attached to said catch basin said second adjustable rack for supporting the objects; d) an adjustable support bar rotatably attached to said substantially horizontal adjustable rack for rotatably adjusting a height of said front end of said substantially horizontal adjustable rack.
- 2. The device as in claim 1, further comprising a series of support strips disposed within said catch basin wherein said support strips are designed to support said adjustable support bar in a position to keep said adjustable support bar from rotating when said adjustable support bar is supporting said substantially horizontal adjustable rack.
- 3. The device as in claim 1, wherein said second adjustable rack contains a plurality of extending bars that intersect with said first adjustable rack to stop any rotation of said second adjustable rack and to hold said second adjustable rack in place.
- 4. The device as in claim 1, wherein said catch basin contains a series of substantially vertical walls to enclose said catch basin.
- 5. The device as in claim 1, wherein said device is designed to support both dishes and pots.
- 6. The device as in claim 1, further comprising an adjustable tray attached to said catch basin for supporting a series of utensils.
- 7. The device as in claim 6, wherein said adjustable tray comprises a set of adjustable legs attached to said catch basin, a top plate attached to said adjustable legs and at least one bottom container for receiving said series of utensils.
- 8. The device as in claim 7, wherein said adjustable tray is adjustable so as to fold down into said catch basin.
- 9. The device as in claim 7, wherein said adjustable tray further comprises a support arm having a first end rotatably attached to said catch basin and a second end designed to lock said adjustable tray in an upright position.
- 10. The device as in claim 1, wherein said first adjustable rack, said second adjustable rack, and said adjustable support bar are adjustable to collapse into said catch basin.
- 11. The device as in claim 1, further comprising a catch block designed to receive a front end of said second adjustable rack to lock said second adjustable rack into a collapsed position so that the device can be folded upright on a counter top.
- 12. The device as in claim 1, wherein said first adjustable rack and said second adjustable rack each comprise of a series of substantially parallel extending bars wherein said substantially parallel extending bars are spaced apart at a distance sufficient to receive a plate there-through.
- 13. The device as in claim 1, further comprising a support block disposed in said catch basin and designed to support said first adjustable rack and said second adjustable rack.
- 14. The device as in claim 13, wherein said support block is designed in a step like manner comprising a first step that is designed to support said first adjustable rack and a second step designed to support a second adjustable rack.
- 15. The device as in claim 1, wherein said catch basin contains at least one drain hole disposed within said catch basin designed to allow water to be drained out of said catch basin.
- 16. The device as in claim 1, further comprising a series of support ridges disposed in said catch basin wherein said support ridges are designed to support said adjustable support bar in a substantially horizontal manner so that said adjustable support bar forms an extended support platform extending out from said first adjustable rack.
- 17. The device as claimed in claim 7, wherein said adjustable tray further comprises a tab attached to and extending below said top plate, wherein said tab is designed to allow a user to grip said tray to either raise or lower said tray into an upright position to support said utensils or a folded down position for storage.
- 18. The device as claimed in claim 11, wherein when said second adjustable rack is locked in said collapsed position and said device c an be rotated to stand upright freely on a back wall of said catch basin.
- 19. The device as claimed in claim 18, wherein when said second adjustable rack is locked in said collapsed position and said device is positioned to stand on said back wall of said catch basin, said device is balanced to stand freely on said back wall of said catch basin.
- 20. A device for drying objects comprising:
a) a catch basin; b) an adjustable dish drying rack disposed within said catch basin and coupled to said catch basin; c) an adjustable pot drying rack disposed within said catch basin and coupled to said catch basin wherein said pot drying rack is formed by adjusting said dish drying rack to create a greater surface area within said basin for drying pots; and d) a utensil rack disposed within, and coupled to said catch basin.
- 21. The device as in claim 20, wherein said utensil rack is designed to fold down into said catch basin to form an additional surface area for drying pots within said basin.
- 22. A device for drying objects comprising:
a) a catch basin; b) at least one rack disposed within said catch basin; and c) a base coupled to said catch basin wherein said at least one rack can be folded up to create a surface for drying dishes or pots or folded down so that said catch basin can be rotated up onto said base and stored away in a free standing manner.
- 23. The device as in claim 22, wherein said base is in the form of a side of said catch basin, wherein when said catch basin is not in use, said catch basin can be tilted up and placed on said side for free standing storage.
- 24. The device as in claim 22, wherein said base is in the form of a series of legs for supporting said device in an upright and free standing manner.
- 25. A device for drying objects comprising:
a) means for supporting plates and pots for drying; b) means for receiving and selectively retaining a liquid from said plates and pots; and c) means for supporting said device in an upright and free standing manner.
- 26. A device for drying objects comprising:
a) at least one catch basin for holding a liquid therein; b) at least one rack being disposed in and coupled to said catch basin wherein said at least one rack can be adjusted to a at least one support position to support plates or pots and then to at least one compact position wherein said at least one rack is folded down into said catch basin for storage wherein when said at least one rack is in said compact position, said device is weight balanced along an axis so that said device can be tilted up on an end and stored away in a free standing manner.
- 27. The device as in claim 27, further comprising a base coupled to said catch basin wherein said base is designed to support said device on said end in a free standing manner.
- 28. The device as in claim 27, further comprising a catch designed to secure said at least one rack in said at least one compact position so that said device is balanced along said axis.
- 29. The device as in claim 27, further comprising at least one additional rack wherein said at least one rack is designed to support said plates and said pots in a position for drying while said at least one additional rack is designed to support utensils in a substantially upright manner to allow said utensils to dry.
- 30. The device as in claim 28, wherein said base is comprised of a back face on said catch basin wherein when said device is placed in a storage position, said device rests on said back face and is balanced on said back face because said weight of said device is balanced along said axis.
- 31. The device as in claim 28, wherein said base is comprised of a series of legs, wherein when the device is placed in a storage position, the device rests on said legs and is balanced on said legs because said weight of the device is balanced along said axis.
- 32. The device as in claim 31, wherein said base further comprises a curved back face disposed between said series of legs wherein said curved back face is designed to provide lateral support to said base.
- 33. The device as in claim 29 wherein said at least one additional rack comprises a top plate, a base connected to said catch basin, a series of legs connecting said top plate to said base.
- 34. The device as in claim 33, wherein said series of legs comprise two pairs of legs positioned at a front end of said top plate and a back end of said top plate.
- 35. The device as in claim 34, wherein each of said series of legs further comprise a stabilizing bar disposed at a base region of each of said series of legs.
- 36. The device as in claim 35, further comprising a catch flange disposed on said base, wherein when said top plate is moved into an upright position, at least one of said stabilizing bars snaps over said flange to lock said top plate into position.
