- 4. The device of claim 3 wherein the means for moving said tissue fasteners is capable of moving said tissue fasteners from said magazine to said distal end of said conduit at a rate of speed that is slower than the rate of speed at which the means for moving said tissue fasteners moves said tissue fasteners from said distal end of said conduit into said patient.
- 5. A device for installing tissue fasteners in a patient, comprisinga conduit for delivering a fastener into the patient, said conduit having an interior shape and a distal end for insertion into the patient, a tissue fastener magazine, said magazine being capable of removably receiving one or more tissue fasteners, and a body having a seat capable of removably removing said tissue fastener magazine, so that each of said fasteners is capable of being aligned with said conduit while said distal end of said conduit is located within the patient, and so that said tissue fastener magazine is capable of being removed from said seat while said conduit is located within said patient, and means for moving said tissue fasteners from said seat into said conduit and the patient.
- 6. A device for installing tissue fasteners in a patient, comprising:a conduit for delivering a fastener into the patient, said conduit having an interior shape and a distal end for insertion into the patient, a tissue fastener magazine, said magazine being capable of removably receiving one or more tissue fasteners, a body having a seat capable of removably receiving said tissue fastener magazine, so that each of said fasteners is capable of being aligned with said conduit while said distal end of said conduit is located within said patient, and a piston for moving said tissue fasteners from said seat into said conduit and the patient, wherein said piston is capable of sliding through said conduit and extending beyond said distal end of said conduit.
- 7. A device for installing tissue fasteners in a patient, comprising:a conduit for delivering a fastener into the patient, said conduit having an interior shape and a distal end for insertion into the patient, a tissue fastener magazine, said magazine being capable of removably receiving one or more tissue fasteners, a body having a seat capable of removably receiving said tissue fastener magazine, so that each of said fasteners is capable of being aligned with said conduit while said fastener is located within said magazine and while said distal end of said conduit is located within said patient, a retractable stabilizer located on said distal end of said conduit.
- 8. A device for installing tissue fasteners in a patient, comprising:a conduit having an interior shape and a distal end for insertion into the patient, a tissue fastener magazine comprising at least one chamber for removably receiving said tissue fasteners, a body comprising means for removably receiving said tissue fastener magazine while said distal end of said conduit is located within said patient, said body further comprising means for moving said fasteners through said conduit into said patient.
- 9. The device of claim 8 wherein said conduit is removably attached to said body.
- 10. The device of claim 8, further comprising one or more retractable stabilizers located on said distal end of said conduit.
- 11. The device of claim 8, wherein said means for moving said tissue fasteners comprises a piston.
- 12. The device of claim 8, wherein said piston extends beyond said distal end of said conduit during insertion of said fasteners in said patient.
- 13. The device of claim 8 wherein said interior shape of said conduit is the same shape as at least a portion of said fasteners.
- 14. The device of claim 8 having a configuration wherein said magazine is located partially within said body such that at least one chamber of said magazine is located outside said body, while another chamber of said magazine is aligned with said conduit.
- 15. The device of claim 8 wherein the means for moving said fasteners moves fasteners at more than one of speed.
- 16. The device of claim 8 wherein the means for moving said fasteners moves said tissue fasteners from said magazine to said distal end of said conduit at a rate of speed that is slower than the rate of speed at which the means for moving said tissue fasteners moves said tissue fasteners from said distal end of said conduit into said patient.
- 17. A device for installing tissue fasteners in a patient, comprising:a conduit having an interior shape and a distal end for insertion into the patient, a tissue fastener magazine comprising at least one chamber for removably receiving said tissue fasteners, a body comprising means for removably receiving said tissue fastener magazine while said distal end of said conduit is located within said patient, said body further comprising means for moving said fasteners from said magazine through said conduit into said patient, a trigger for causing said means for moving said tissue fasteners to move said tissue fasteners into the patient, when the trigger is moved from a first position to a second position, and cocking means for moving said trigger from said second position to said first position when said cocking means is moved from an uncocked to a cocked position.
- 18. The device of claim 17, further comprising spring means connected to said cocking means for automatically moving said cocking means from the cocked position to the uncocked position when the trigger is moved from the first position to the second position.
