Claims
- 1. An apparatus for introducing at least one yarn into a pneumatic yarn texturizing means, said apparatus comprising:
- an orifice for introducing yarn into the texturizing means;
- a fluid nozzle fixed in spaced relation opposite said orifice;
- means for positioning the yarn to extend across and between the orifice and fluid nozzle;
- means for supplying liquid under high pressure to said fluid nozzle whereby said liquid pushes said yarn into said orifice after the liquid escapes the nozzle;
- yarn cutting means for cutting the yarn, said yarn cutting means being located downstream of the orifice in the direction of yarn extent across the orifice;
- means for synchronizing the operation of the liquid supply means with the yarn cutting means; and
- means for mounting the fluid nozzle and cutting device so as to be moved from juxtaposition with the orifice after the yarn is introduced through the orifice and into the texturizing device so as to allow texturizing to take place under usual conditions.
- 2. A device according to claim 1 wherein the orifice for introducing the yarn into the pneumatic texturizing means is a profiled slot in the shape of a flat funnel, of constant width, the upper and ower profiles of the slot having a radius of curvature and the radius of curvature of the upper profile being greater than the radius of curvature of the lower profile.
- 3. A device according to claim 1, wherein the means for cutting the yarn comprise a cutting blade located in a plane substantially at right angles to the direction of travel of the yarn positioned by said positioning means, a long-stroke electromagnet, a core of said electromagnet connected to the cutting blade, a return coil spring acting on said core, a counter-blade being located opposite said cutting blade, an opening in said counter-blade through which the yarn held by said positioning means passes, and a leaf spring connecting the cutting blade to press it against the counter-blade during cutting, whereby the cutting blade travels parallel to the counter-blade.
- 4. The apparatus of claim 1 wherein the mounting means is pivoted by a hinge to the texturizing means downstream of the orifice and latched to the texturizing means upstream of the orifice and wherein the yarn positioning means includes a pair of rollers over which the yarn is trained wherein the rollers are positioned on the mounting means up- and downstream of the nozzle whereby, when the mounting means is moved from juxtaposition with the texturizing means, the mounting means is pivoted about the hinge and the yarn is disengaged from the rollers.
