The present invention relates to a device for locking and/or fixing a strap of handbag or backpack capable of supporting a mass of at most 50 kg.

It relates to a device for locking and/or fixing an interchangeable handbag strap.

It also concerns a handbag or a backpack comprising a detachable and interchangeable strap fixable by means of a magnet.

In the description which follows, the term strap relates to a narrow strip of at least 1 cm in width and at least 5 cm in length, preferably at least 10 cm in length, made with a flexible material such as leather, fabric, thread, plastic material, intended to be attached to a bag and used as a handle to lift or carry the bag.

Handles and/or straps are straps where they have characteristics defined in accordance with this definition.

A handbag is a fashion accessory weighing less than 14 kg that can store or carry useful everyday items, such as keys, phone and/or laptop, diary, wallet, makeup, etc.

Much more than a utilitarian object, it is also an intimate companion that reveals a person's personality.

A handbag consists of a large pocket where to store objects, which can itself have several other pockets, possibly a system of closing of the main pocket and one to two straps more or less long and wide to carry it either during the end of the hand, or stuck in the fold of the elbow or shoulder strap on the shoulder.

From the state of the art is known handbag straps of width between 1.5 cm and 6 cm. These straps do not have locking and/or fixing devices. Indeed, they are fixed on the bag by means of the hooks, in particular on the flap, in at least two points located equidistant from the center of gravity of the bag or the center of the upper plane of the bag, by means of screws to allow it to be carried by hand or fixed on each side of the bag equidistant from the centre of gravity of the bag or from the plane of the centre of the bag to allow a better distribution of the weight of the bag and to easily allow to hold the bag open to catch business suitably.

Unfortunately, the locking devices associated with these straps tend to quickly destroy the bag or break quickly with the weight of the objects contained in the bag.

In addition, when at least one strap is broken, it is very difficult to change it and the bag becomes almost unusable.

Despite mechanical fixing via hooks, these locking or fixing strap devices seem to present a failure in terms of mechanical resistance when the bag carries a capacity of at least 10 kg. Also, the devices of the prior art are not interchangeable.

The purpose of the invention is to provide a device for locking and/or securing a handbag or backpack strap, capable of supporting a mass of not more than 50 kg, interchangeable, remedying the mentioned disadvantages and improving the locking and/or fixing devices of a strap of handbag or backpack known from the prior art.

FIG. 4 is an embodiment of a handbag according to the invention.

FIG. 1 relates to a device (1) for locking and/or securing a handbag or backpack strap (12) according to the invention. This device is able to support a mass of not more than 50 kg, preferably a mass of not more than 25 kg, more particularly a mass of not more than 16 kg. The device (1) is intended to receive a single strap (12).

The device (1) according to the invention mainly comprises two parts (2, 3), a lower part (2) and an upper part (3). One of the parts (2, 3) is intended to be fixed to a bag (13) via a base (15) and the means of mechanical fixings (rail slide, screws, strong glues, base, etc.) and the other part (2, 3) is intended to receive a single strap (12). A fixing means (14) makes it possible to reinforce the fixing of the strap (12) on at least one of the parts (2, 3) so that it does not become detached.

The strap (12) is made of material capable of supporting a mass of at most 50 kg and is fixed to at least one of the parts (2, 3) of the locking device (1). Preferably, the strap (12) is made of leather or nylon. These two materials are chosen because of their good mechanical properties.

Preferably, the fixing means between the lower part (2), the base (15) and bag (13) are screws or nuts, etc.

To the extent that the strap (12) is fixed on one of the parts (2, 3), the latter becomes interchangeable because the parts (2, 3) are dissociable and is not in one piece. This therefore allows a user to adapt the strap (12) to his taste and choice.

The two parts (2, 3) are fixed between it by means of a permanent magnet and the whole is fixed on the bag (13) via fixing means such as nuts, strong glues, etc. by taking support on the base (15). The base (15) prevents deterioration to the fabric or material of the bag (13). It also prevents the lower part (2) from sliding on the skin of the bag (13).

In reference to the FIG. 2, the locking and/or fixing device (1) according to the invention mainly comprises two distinct parts (2, 3) connected together by a permanent magnet and one of the parts is fixed on the bag (13) via the fixing means through the base (15).

The lower part (2) comprising a steel block (4) which comprises at least one bore or mortise (5) having a notch of at least 3 mm depth. This steel block has an L shape with at least one shoulder (16). The bore or the mortise (5) is adapted to receive a tenon of the upper part (3) serving as a mechanical and magnetic hook.

Steel is chosen as the material for this steel block (4) because it can be treated by galvanizing to become an anti-corrosive material requiring very little maintenance. In addition, it is non-combustible, which helps prevent the risk of fire.

At a time when particular attention to respect for the environment is necessary, the ecological properties of steel are appreciated ecologically because steel, possessing magnetic virtues, can be recovered from all waste and can be separated from others materials.

Also, steel is infinitely recyclable, and this in no way affects its properties which remain identical. This recycling therefore makes it possible to reduce the quantity of household waste and preserve natural iron ore resources. The use of steel also has economic and aesthetic advantages.

Indeed, with an exceptional lifespan, steel is a durable material over time, and therefore represents an advantageous investment in the long term. Steel, composed of iron and a small percentage of carbon, is a material very resistant to weight, shock and heat. Its anti-corrosive properties and longevity make it a cost-effective and easy-to-maintain material.

With reference to FIGS. 3A and 3B, the upper part (3) comprises a steel block (6) of the same physicochemical characteristic and of the same nature as the steel of the block (4).

It has an inverted shape with at least one notch and at least one shoulder (17), that is to say, an inverse shape of the steel block (4) so that the profile of the two steel blocks (4, 6) fit together perfectly. The shoulder has an imprint of the profile of the lower part (2).

The steel block (6) comprises at least one magnet (7) comprising a dual-function neodymiumbased tenon, a magnetic locking and/or magnetic fixing function and a mechanical locking function.

The concentration of lead-free brass in the magnet is less than 100 ppm.

The shape, depth and thickness of the magnet tenon (7) correspond to the inverse dimensions of the bore or mortise (5) of the steel block (4) so that the magnet tenon fits into the bore or mortise (5) or the mortise (5) to form a mechanical and magnetic stop, and to ensure that the steel blocks (4, 6) fit together perfectly by forming a mechanically integral assembly.

Two surfaces fit together perfectly when their contact surface touches each other, leaving no void or non-contact surface.

The dimensions of the magnet tenon (7) and the bore or mortise (5) are adapted to support a mass of at most 50 kg. For this, the magnet has the same thickness and depth as the notch in the bore or mortise (5). According to the invention, the depth is at least 3 mm. Preferably the notch and the tenon of the magnet (7) have a parallelepiped shape with a square or rectangular base with a depth of at least 3 mm. With this depth, it is possible to safely support and transport a mass of 50 kg.

The steel blocks (4, 6) are treated by polishing and are covered by electro-deposition with a thin layer of nickel-free metal of at least 0.2 microns. This gives these blocks good physicochemical properties in terms of corrosion resistance.

According to another characteristic of the invention, the assembly between the two blocks (2, 3) is with a bastard tenon because the tenon of the magnet (7) only has one leveling. Preferably, the assembly of the blocks (2, 3) is shouldered. More particularly, the assembly of the blocks (2, 3) has a reinforced shoulder.

According to other characteristics of the invention, the shoulder (16, 17) of the steel blocks (2, 3) comprises at least one sliding rail, not shown, allowing the perfect alignment of the two steel blocks (4, 6), the reinforcement of the mechanical-magnetic fixing and sink so that the two steel blocks (2, 3) are easily detached by simple separation of the two blocks with a force of at least 500 N.

According to other characteristics of the invention, the steel block (6) further comprises another bore not shown in the figures, comprising at least one other spring not shown in the figures, partly supporting the tenon of the magnet (7) so that when the tenon of the magnet (7) is not facing the bore or mortise (5), the latter is inside the steel block (6), and when the tenon of the magnet (7) is opposite the bore (5), the latter either inside the bore or mortise (5). This is to improve the safety of the device according to the invention and facilitate interchangeability. This makes it easier to remove and replace the blocks (4, 6) at any time.

According to other characteristics of the invention, at least one of the steel blocks (4, 6) comprises at least one pusher means (11) in the shape of a logo, allowing magnetic and mechanical decoupling of the two blocks. This pusher means is adapted to cooperate with the spring of the steel block (6) and is capable of moving the tenon of the magnet (7) outside the bore or mortise (5). This facilitates interchangeability. This makes it easier to remove and replace the blocks (4, 6) at any time.

In reference to the FIG. 4, the bag (13) comprises the locking and/or fixing device (1) according to the invention. This locking and/or fixing device (1) is fixed to the center of the upper plane of the bag through the base (15) via fixing means (strong glue, screws, etc.). Preferably, it is fixed at the center of gravity of the upper plane of the bag or in the middle of the median plane of the bag.

The present invention is by no means limited to the embodiments described and represented, but the person skilled in the art will be able to bring any variant in conformity with his spirit.
