Claims
- 1. A device for turning a brake disk (D) on a hub (H), the device including a lathe (1) having a support (2) carrying a cutting head (T) and a chuck (21), the device comprising:
detecting means (3) operatively engaged to the support for detecting a runout of the disk; a processing apparatus (24) connected to the detecting means for processing control signals for the detecting means; an adapter (28) for connection to the hub; a front flange (9) coupled to the adapter; a rear flange (10) fixed to the chuck of the lathe; and a plurality of spacing adjusters (44) at equal intervals around the front and rear flanges and between the front and rear flanges for individually adjusting a spacing between the front and rear flanges at each of the intervals for tilting the front flange with respect to the rear flange to accommodate the runout detected by the detecting means; and each spacing adjuster comprising: a toothed wheel (20) having a saw-tooth edge; a retractable actuator pin (80) movable to intercept the toothed wheel to incrementally rotate the toothed wheel during a rotation of the front and rear flanges; a linear actuator (8) for moving the actuator pin into a position for intercepting the toothed wheel and into a position for not intercepting the toothed wheel; a pinion (17) connected to the toothed wheel for rotation therewith; a gear (18) meshed with the pinion and having a first annular groove with varying depth (15) facing the front flange (9); a second annular groove with varying depth (14) in the front flange (9) at each of the intervals; and at least one ball (S) between the first and second annular grooves for adjusting a spacing between each gear (18) and the front flange (9) at each of the intervals, depending on a rotation position of the gear with respect to the front flange.
- 2. A device according to in claim 1, including a shaft (16) for supporting each gear (18) for rotation to the rear flange (10) and a bearing (56) engaged between the gear and the rear flange (10).
- 3. A device according to claim 1, including a motor (5) for rotating the rear flange (10) to move each toothed wheel (20) past the actuator pin (80).
- 4. A device according to claimed in claim 1, wherein there are three spacing adjusters (44) and the intervals are 120 degree intervals around the front and rear flanges (9, 10).
