Claims
- 1. A cap structure for an article having an end surface and a neck underneath the end surface, the cap structure having:
a bearing surface for bearing against the end surface, a sleeve for disposal about the neck, and a split collar which is affixable to the neck and joined to an inner surface of the sleeve by a joint thereby enabling the cap structure to be secured to the container.
- 2. The cap structure of claim 1, wherein the article is a container for a fluid and the end surface is at an outlet end of the container having an outlet through which the fluid is able to be dispensed from the container.
- 3. The cap structure of claim 1, wherein the cap structure has a cap member which presents the bearing surface and the sleeve and which is slidingly receivable on the end surface.
- 4. The cap structure of claim 1, wherein the collar is welded to the inner surface of the sleeve.
- 5. The cap structure of claim 4, wherein the collar is ultrasonically welded to the inner surface of the sleeve.
- 6. The cap structure of claim 1, wherein the collar and sleeve are made from the same material.
- 7. An assembly comprising the cap structure of claim 1 and an article having an end surface and a neck underneath the end surface, wherein the cap structure is mounted on the end surface with the bearing surface bearing against the end surface and the collar being affixed to the neck to secure the cap structure to the article.
- 8. The assembly of claim 7, wherein the article is a container for a fluid with the end surface at an outlet end of the container having an outlet through which the fluid is able to be dispensed from the container.
- 9. The assembly of claim 8, wherein the container includes a fluid medicament.
- 10. The cap structure of claim 2, wherein the cap structure has a cap member which presents the bearing surface and the sleeve and which is slidingly receivable on the end surface.
