Claims
- 1. A device for applying an anastomosis staple, said device comprising:a staple mechanism for applying an anastomosis staple, said stapling mechanism having an internal lumen therethrough; and a punch means for creating an opening in a wall of a first hollow organ, said punch means being removably receivable within said internal lumen of said stapling mechanism.
- 2. The device of claim 1, wherein said stapling mechanism is configured to apply said anastomosis staple to create an anastomosis between a side wall of the first hollow organ and an end of a second hollow organ, wherein at least said end of said second hollow organ is everted, and said device further comprises an annular space between said punch means and said stapling mechanism sufficient to accommodate said second hollow organ within said annular space.
- 3. The device of claim 1, further comprising a graft insertion tool which is removably receivable within said internal lumen of said stapling mechanism, said graft insertion tool comprising an elongated shaft having a distal end with a means for detachably holding a coupling member, said coupling member being configured for joining a second hollow organ to an anchor member which is attached to an exterior surface of said wall of said first hollow organ.
