Claims
- 1. A treatment method for correcting descent of a bladder neck, the method comprising:thermally inducing shrinkage of a pelvic floor.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein the shrinkage of the pelvic floor is induced by applying radiofrequency energy to the pelvic floor with an electrosurgical instrument.
- 3. The method of claim 2, further comprising controlling the radiofrequency energy applied to the instrument with a controller coupled to the instrument.
- 4. The method of claim 1, wherein the thermal shrinkage is induced in one or more members of the group including the pelvic viscera, pelvic muscles including the levator ani muscle group, endopelvic fascia, and ligaments.
- 5. The method of claim 1, further comprising thermally inducing shrinkage of the pelvic floor selectively adjacent the bladder neck, wherein the thermally induced shrinkage of the pelvic floor alters support of the bladder neck.
- 6. The method of claim 1, wherein the thermally induced shrinkage is induced by applying radiofrequency energy in the presence of an electrically-conductive fluid.
- 7. A method for treatment of a subject having a bladder neck, the method comprising:thermally inducing shrinkage of a support tissue near the bladder neck so that the shrinkage of the support tissue alters structural support of the bladder neck.
