Abstract
A dexterity-enhancing game of skill, including a first board, including a first board surface, a plurality of first board holes disposed throughout the first board surface, and a first pulley system disposed on the first board, the first pulley system including a first pulley system wire, a first pulley system ring connected to the first pulley system wire, and a first pulley system ball to be placed inside the first pulley system ring, such that the first pulley system ball maintains contact with the first board surface, and a second board connected to the first board, the second board including a second board surface, a plurality of second board holes disposed throughout the second board surface, and a second pulley system disposed on the second board, the second pulley system including a second pulley system wire, a second pulley system ring connected to the second pulley system wire, and a second pulley system ball to be placed inside the second pulley system ring, such that the second pulley system ball maintains contact with the second board surface.
Description
BACKGROUND
1. Field

The present general inventive concept relates generally to a game of skill, and particularly, to a dexterity-enhancing game of skill.


2. Description of the Related Art

Board games and games of skill have been enjoyed around the world for decades. Most games, however, are rarely mentally challenging and can become boring quickly or are simply antiquated.


Therefore, there is a need for a game of skill that may provide users with a head-to-head race racing-type game that provides an entertaining way to test cognitive agility and dexterity.


SUMMARY

The present general inventive concept provides a dexterity-enhancing game of skill.


Additional features and utilities of the present general inventive concept will be set forth in part in the description which follows and, in part, will be obvious from the description, or may be learned by practice of the general inventive concept.


The foregoing and/or other features and utilities of the present general inventive concept may be achieved by providing a dexterity-enhancing game of skill, including a first board, including a first board surface, a plurality of first board holes disposed throughout the first board surface, and a first pulley system disposed on the first board, the first pulley system including a first pulley system wire, a first pulley system ring connected to the first pulley system wire, and a first pulley system ball to be placed inside the first pulley system ring, such that the first pulley system ball maintains contact with the first board surface, and a second board connected to the first board, the second board including a second board surface, a plurality of second board holes disposed throughout the second board surface, and a second pulley system disposed on the second board, the second pulley system including a second pulley system wire, a second pulley system ring connected to the second pulley system wire, and a second pulley system ball to be placed inside the second pulley system ring, such that the second pulley system ball maintains contact with the second board surface.


The first pulley system may further include a first pulley system first handle connected to a first end of the first pulley system wire, a first pulley system first pulley connected to the first pulley system wire and disposed between the first pulley system first handle and the first pulley system ring, a first pulley system second handle disposed at a second end of the first pulley system wire, and a first pulley system second pulley connected to the first pulley system wire and disposed between the first pulley system second handle and the first pulley system ring.


A downward-pulling of at least one of the first pulley system first handle and the first pulley system second handle downward may cause the first pulley system ring to rise.


A downward-pulling of the first pulley system first handle more than the first pulley system second handle may cause the first pulley system ring to move leftward.


A downward-pulling of the first pulley system second handle more than the first pulley system first handle may cause the first pulley system ring to move rightward.


The plurality of first board holes may have different sizes, and the plurality of second board holes may have different sizes.


A top portion of the first board may be connected to a top portion of the second board to form an upside-down V shape.

DETAILED DESCRIPTION

Various example embodiments (a.k.a., exemplary embodiments) will now be described more fully with reference to the accompanying drawings in which some example embodiments are illustrated. In the FIGS., the thicknesses of lines, layers and/or regions may be exaggerated for clarity.


Accordingly, while example embodiments are capable of various modifications and alternative forms, embodiments thereof are shown by way of example in the figures and will herein be described in detail. It should be understood, however, that there is no intent to limit example embodiments to the particular forms disclosed, but on the contrary, example embodiments are to cover all modifications, equivalents, and alternatives falling within the scope of the disclosure. FIG. 1A illustrates a front perspective view of a dexterity-enhancing game of skill 100, according to an exemplary embodiment of the present general inventive concept.



FIG. 1B illustrates a rear perspective view of the dexterity-enhancing game of skill 100 of FIG. 1A, according to an exemplary embodiment of the present general inventive concept.


The dexterity-enhancing game of skill 100, and all components included therein, may be constructed from at least one of metal, plastic, wood, ceramic, glass, and rubber, etc., but is not limited thereto. Also, the dexterity-enhancing game of skill 100 may be constructed of recycled materials.


The dexterity-enhancing game of skill 100 may include a first board 110, a second board 120, a first pulley system 130, a second pulley system 140, a safety net 150, a first hook and loop connector 160, a second hook and loop connector 161, a latch 162, a handle 163, and a stabilizing connector 164, a but is not limited thereto.


Referring to FIG. 1A, the first board 110 may include, a first board surface 111, a plurality of first board legs 112, a plurality of first board feet 112a, a plurality of first board first holes 113a, a plurality of first board second holes 113b, and a plurality of first board third holes 113c, but is not limited thereto.


Referring to FIG. 1A, the plurality of first board legs 112 may be disposed at side portions of the first board 110, and may include the plurality of first board feet 112a at base portions thereof to provide stability for the first board 110.


Referring to FIG. 1A, the first board surface 111 may be a playing surface for a first player of the dexterity-enhancing game of skill 100, and may include the plurality of first board first holes 113a having a first size, the plurality of first board second holes 113b having a second size, and the plurality of first board third holes 113c having a third size, but is not limited thereto. Only three different sizes of holes are illustrated herein with regard to the embodiment of FIG. 1A of the present general inventive concept, however, the sizes of the holes are not limited to three different sizes, and each hole on the first board surface 111 may have its own unique size, or alternatively, all of the holes on the first board surface 111 may have the same size.


Referring to FIG. 1A, the first pulley system 130 may include a first pulley system first pulley 131, a first pulley system second pulley 132, a first pulley system first handle 133, a first pulley system second handle 134, a first pulley system wire 135, a first pulley system ring 136, and a first pulley system ball 137, but is not limited thereto.


The first pulley system wire 135 may be a wire, string, rope, strap, chain, or any other type of long flexible component known to one of ordinary skill in the art.


Referring to FIG. 1A, the first pulley system wire 135 may include the first pulley system first handle 133 attached at a first end and the first pulley system second handle 134 attached at a second end. The first pulley system wire 135 may also be movably attached to the first pulley system ring 136 at a middle portion of the first pulley system wire 135. The first pulley system ball 137 may be placed within the first pulley system ring 136.


An object of the dexterity-enhancing game of skill 100 is for the first player to pull down on the first pulley system first handle 133 and the first pulley system second handle 134, such that the downward motion of the first pulley system first handle 133 and the downward motion of the first pulley system second handle 134 cause the first pulley system first pulley 131 to turn counter-clockwise and the first pulley system second pulley 132 to turn clockwise, respectively, thus causing the first pulley system ring 136 to move up the first board 110 to allow the first pulley system ball 137 to reach the top of the first board 110. However, the first player must pull down on the first pulley system first handle 133 and the first pulley system second handle 134 at different rates, causing the first pulley system ring 136 to move leftward, rightward, and/or diagonally, in order to the avoid the plurality of first board first holes 113a, the plurality of first board second holes 113b, and the plurality of first board third holes 113c, because if the first pulley system ball 137 passes over one of these holes, it will fall through the hole and be caught by the safety net 150, thus requiring the first player to start again from the bottom of the first board 110. In other words, the main object of the dexterity-enhancing game of skill 100 is to maneuver the first pulley system ball 137 from the bottom of the first board 110 to the top of the first board 110, while avoiding the plurality of first board first holes 113a, the plurality of first board second holes 113b, and the plurality of first board third holes 113c.


Referring to FIG. 1B, the second board 120 may include, a second board surface 121, a plurality of second board legs 122, a plurality of second board feet 122a, a plurality of second board first holes 123a, a plurality of second board second holes 123b, and a plurality of second board third holes 123c, but is not limited thereto.


Referring to FIG. 1B, the plurality of second board legs 122 may be disposed at side portions of the second board 120, and may include the plurality of second board feet 122a at base portions thereof to provide stability for the second board 120.


Referring to FIG. 1B, the second board surface 121 may be a playing surface for a second player of the dexterity-enhancing game of skill 100, and may include the plurality of second board first holes 123a having a first size, the plurality of second board second holes 123b having a second size, and the plurality of second board third holes 123c having a third size, but is not limited thereto. Only three different sizes of holes are illustrated herein with regard to the embodiment of FIG. 1B of the present general inventive concept, however, the sizes of the holes are not limited to three different sizes, and each hole on the second board surface 121 may have its own unique size, or alternatively, all of the holes on the second board surface 121 may have the same size.


Referring to FIG. 1B, the second pulley system 140 may include a second pulley system first pulley 141, a second pulley system second pulley 142, a second pulley system first handle 143, a second pulley system second handle 144, a second pulley system wire 145, a second pulley system ring 146, and a second pulley system ball 147, but is not limited thereto.


The second pulley system wire 145 may be a wire, string, rope, strap, chain, or any other type of long flexible component known to one of ordinary skill in the art.


Referring to FIG. 1B, the second pulley system wire 145 may include the second pulley system first handle 143 attached at a first end and the second pulley system second handle 144 attached at a second end. The second pulley system wire 145 may also be movably attached to the second pulley system ring 146 at a middle portion of the second pulley system wire 145. The second pulley system ball 147 may be placed within the second pulley system ring 146.


Similar to above regarding the first board 110, an object of the dexterity-enhancing game of skill 100 is for the second player to pull down on the second pulley system first handle 143 and the second pulley system second handle 144, such that the downward motion of the second pulley system first handle 143 and the downward motion of the second pulley system second handle 144 cause the second pulley system first pulley 141 to turn counter-clockwise and the second pulley system second pulley 142 to turn clockwise, respectively, thus causing the second pulley system ring 146 to move up the second board 120 to allow the second pulley system ball 147 to reach the top of the second board 120. However, the second player must pull down on the second pulley system first handle 143 and the second pulley system second handle 144 at different rates, causing the second pulley system ring 146 to move leftward, rightward, and/or diagonally, in order to the avoid the plurality of second board first holes 123a, the plurality of second board second holes 123b, and the plurality of second board third holes 123c, because if the second pulley system ball 147 passes over one of these holes, it will fall through the hole and be caught by the safety net 150, thus requiring the second player to start again from the bottom of the second board 120. In other words, the main object of the dexterity-enhancing game of skill 100 is to maneuver the second pulley system ball 147 from the bottom of the second board 120 to the top of the second board 120, while avoiding the plurality of second board first holes 123a, the plurality of second board second holes 123b, and the plurality of second board third holes 123c.


Although single users may play the dexterity-enhancing game of skill 100 by themselves, the dexterity-enhancing game of skill 100 is intended to be a competitive racing-type game, with the first player attempting to maneuver the first pulley system ball 137 to the top of the first board 110 before the second player can maneuver the second pulley system ball 147 to the top of the second board 120, and vice-versa. In other words, the winner of the dexterity-enhancing game of skill 100 is the player that maneuvers their respective ball to the top of their respective board first.


Referring to FIGS. 1A and 1B, the first board 110 may be hingedly connected at a top portion thereof to a top portion of the second board 120. Accordingly, a bottom portion of the first board 100 may be moved away from a bottom portion of the second board 120, which keeping the top portions of the first board 110 and the second board 120 connected, respectively.


Referring to FIGS. 1A and 1B, the safety net 150 may be connected to bottom portions of the first board 110 and the second board 120, and may catch the first pulley system ball 137 if it falls through one of the first board first holes 123a, the first board second holes 123b, or the first board third holes 123c and/or may catch the second pulley system ball 147 if it falls through one of the second board first holes 123a, the second board second holes 123b, or the second board third holes 123c.


A safety net pole 151 may be disposed at a center portion of the safety net 150 to allow the safety net pole 150 to fold at a middle portion thereof when the first board 110 and second board 120 are folded together.


Referring to FIGS. 1A and 1B, the first pulley system first handle first hook and loop connector 160a and the first pulley system second handle second hook and loop connector 160b may be disposed on the first board legs 112 to correspond to the first pulley system first handle 133 and the first pulley system second handle 134, respectively. The first pulley system first handle first hook and loop connector 160a may cover and secure the first pulley system first handle 133, and the first pulley system second handle second hook and loop connector 160b may cover and secure the first pulley system second handle 134, when the dexterity-enhancing game of skill 100 is not being utilized.


Likewise, the second pulley system first handle first hook and loop connector 161a and the second pulley system second handle second hook and loop connector 161b may be disposed on the second board legs 122 to correspond to the second pulley system first handle 143 and the second pulley system second handle 144, respectively. The second pulley system first handle first hook and loop connector 161a may cover and secure the second pulley system first handle 143, and the second pulley system second handle second hook and loop connector 161b may cover and secure the second pulley system second handle 144, when the dexterity-enhancing game of skill 100 is not being utilized.


Referring to FIGS. 1A and 1B, the latch 162 may be connected to a bottom portion of the second board 120, but is not limited thereto and may be connected to a bottom portion of the first board 110. A purpose of the latch 162 may be to hold the first board together with the second board 120 when they are in a folded position.


Referring to FIGS. 1A and 1B, the handle 163 may be disposed at a side portion of the second board 120, but is not limited thereto and may be disposed at a side portion of the first board 110, and/or, may be provided on both the first board 110 and the second board 120 in plurality. A purpose of the handle 163 may be to allow a user to easily carry the dexterity-enhancing game of skill 100 when the first board 110 and the second board 120 are folded together.


Referring to FIGS. 1A and 1B, the stabilizing connector 164 may be disposed at middle-side portions of the first board 110 and the second board 120, in order to connect the first board 110 to the second board 120 such that the first board 110 is prevented from moving too far away from the second board 120 when the first board 110 and the second board 120 are unfolded. The stabilizing connector 164 may be a wire, string, rope, strap, chain, or any other type of long flexible component known to one of ordinary skill in the art, and also may be provided in plurality.


Exemplary embodiments of the present general inventive concept may include a dexterity-enhancing game of skill 100, including a first board 110, including a first board surface 112, a plurality of first board holes 113a, 113b, and 113c disposed throughout the first board surface 112, and a first pulley system 130 disposed on the first board 110, the first pulley system 130 including a first pulley system wire 135, a first pulley system ring 136 connected to the first pulley system wire 135, and a first pulley system ball 137 to be placed inside the first pulley system ring 136, such that the first pulley system ball 137 maintains contact with the first board surface 111, and a second board 120 connected to the first board 110, the second board 120 including a second board surface 121, a plurality of second board holes 123a, 123b, and 123c disposed throughout the second board surface 121, and a second pulley system 140 disposed on the second board 120, the second pulley system 140 including a second pulley system wire 145, a second pulley system ring 146 connected to the second pulley system wire 145, and a second pulley system ball 147 to be placed inside the second pulley system ring 146, such that the second pulley system ball 147 maintains contact with the second board surface 121.


The first pulley system 130 may further include a first pulley system first handle 133 connected to a first end of the first pulley system wire 135, a first pulley system first pulley 131 connected to the first pulley system wire 135 and disposed between the first pulley system first handle 133 and the first pulley system ring 136, a first pulley system second handle disposed at a second end of the first pulley system wire 135, and a first pulley system second pulley 132 connected to the first pulley system wire 135 and disposed between the first pulley system second handle 134 and the first pulley system ring 136.


A downward-pulling of at least one of the first pulley system first handle 133 and the first pulley system second handle 134 downward may cause the first pulley system ring 136 to rise.


A downward-pulling of the first pulley system first handle 133 more than the first pulley system second handle 134 may cause the first pulley system ring 136 to move leftward.


A downward-pulling of the first pulley system second handle 134 more than the first pulley system first handle 133 may cause the first pulley system ring 136 to move rightward.


The plurality of first board holes 113a, 113b, and 113c may have different sizes, and the plurality of second board holes 123a, 123b, and 123c may have different sizes.


A top portion of the first board 110 may be connected to a top portion of the second board 120 to form an upside-down V shape.


Although a few embodiments of the present general inventive concept have been shown and described, it will be appreciated by those skilled in the art that changes may be made in these embodiments without departing from the principles and spirit of the general inventive concept, the scope of which is defined in the appended claims and their equivalents.

Claims
  • 1. A dexterity-enhancing game of skill, comprising: a first board, comprising; a first board surface,a plurality of first board holes disposed throughout the first board surface, anda first pulley system disposed on the first board, the first pulley system comprising: a first pulley system wire,a first pulley system ring connected to the first pulley system wire, anda first pulley system ball to be placed inside the first pulley system ring, such that the first pulley system ball maintains contact with the first board surface; anda second board connected to the first board, the second board comprising: a second board surface,a plurality of second board holes disposed throughout the second board surface, anda second pulley system disposed on the second board, the second pulley system comprising: a second pulley system wire,a second pulley system ring connected to the second pulley system wire, anda second pulley system ball to be placed inside the second pulley system ring, such that the second pulley system ball maintains contact with the second board surface.
  • 2. The dexterity-enhancing game of skill of claim 1, wherein the first pulley system further comprises: a first pulley system first handle connected to a first end of the first pulley system wire;a first pulley system first pulley connected to the first pulley system wire and disposed between the first pulley system first handle and the first pulley system ring;a first pulley system second handle disposed at a second end of the first pulley system wire; anda first pulley system second pulley connected to the first pulley system wire and disposed between the first pulley system second handle and the first pulley system ring.
  • 3. The dexterity-enhancing game of skill of claim 2, wherein a downward-pulling of at least one of the first pulley system first handle and the first pulley system second handle causes the first pulley system ring to rise.
  • 4. The dexterity-enhancing game of skill of claim 2, wherein a downward-pulling of the first pulley system first handle more than the first pulley system second handle causes the first pulley system ring to move leftward.
  • 5. The dexterity-enhancing game of skill of claim 2, wherein a downward-pulling of the first pulley system second handle more than the first pulley system first handle causes the first pulley system ring to move rightward.
  • 6. The dexterity-enhancing game of skill of claim 1, wherein the plurality of first board holes have different sizes, and the plurality of second board holes have different sizes.
  • 7. The dexterity-enhancing game of skill of claim 1, wherein a top portion of the first board is connected to a top portion of the second board to form an upside-down V shape.
