Claims
- 1. A method for diagnosing a kidney disease in a human comprising the step of measuring catalytic iron in a urine sample from the human.
- 2. The method of claim 1, wherein catalytic iron is measured in relation to a reference protein in the urine sample.
- 3. The method of claim 2, wherein the reference protein is urinary creatinine.
- 4. The method of claim 1, wherein the urine sample is obtained from a human having a progressive kidney disease selected from the group consisting of diabetic nephropathy, primary glomerulonephritis and secondary glomerulonephritis.
