Claims
- 1. An improved process for preparing a compound of the formula ##STR4## where R represents hydrogen, halo having an automic weight of about 19 to 36,
- which comprises adding liquid bromine to a compound of the formula ##STR5## at a mole ratio of 2-2.5:1 at a temperature from about 125.degree. to 175.degree. C.
- 2. A process according to claim 1 which is carried out at a temperature of from about 125.degree. to 175.degree. C.
- 3. A process according to claim 1 which is carried out at a temperature of from about 140.degree. to 165.degree. C.
- 4. A process according to claim 3, in which the bromine is added over a period of 30 minutes to 1 hour.
