Claims
- 1. A polymer having the formula ##STR6## in which: R.sup.1 is a single member selected from the group consisting of H, lower alkyl, NF.sub.2, NO.sub.2, ONO.sub.2, N(R.sup.2)NO.sub.2 and N.sub.3, where R.sup.2 is H or a lower alkyl, such that said polymer is a homopolymer, or is a combination of two or more members selected from said group such that said polymer is a copolymer; and
- x is an integer having a value selected such that said polymer has a weight average molecular weight ranging from about 1,000 to about 100,000.
- 2. A polymer in accordance with claim 1 in which:
- R.sup.1 is a single member selected from the group consisting of H, CH.sub.3, C.sub.2 H.sub.5 and NF.sub.2 such that said polymer is a homopolymer, or is a combination of two or more members selected from said group such that said polymer is a copolymer; and
- x is an integer having a value selected such that said polymer has a weight average molecular weight ranging from about 2,000 to about 50,000.
- 3. A polymer in accordance with claim 1 in which:
- R.sup.1 is a single member selected from the group consisting of H and NF.sub.2 such that said polymer is a homopolymer, or is a combination of two or more members selected from said group such that said polymer is a copolymer; and
- x is an integer having a value selected such that said polymer has a weight average molecular weight ranging from about 5,000 to about 25,000.
- 4. A polymer in accordance with claim 1 in which:
- R.sup.1 is NF.sub.2 ; and
- x is an integer such that said polymer has a weight average molecular weight ranging from about 5,000 to about 25,000.
- 5. A polymer in accordance with claim 1 in which:
- R.sup.1 is H; and
- x is an integer such that said polymer has a weight average molecular weight ranging from about 5,000 to about 25,000.
- 6. A polymer in accordance with claim 1 in which:
- said polymer is a copolymer in which from about 10% to about 90% of R.sup.1, on a molar basis, is NF.sub.2 and the remainder of R.sup.1 is a member selected from the group consisting of H, lower alkyl, NO.sub.2, ONO.sub.2, N(R.sup.2)NO.sub.2 and N.sub.3, where R.sup.2 is H or a lower alkyl; and
- x is an integer such that said copolymer has a weight average molecular weight ranging from about 5,000 to about 25,000.
- 7. A polymer in accordance with claim 1 in which:
- said polymer is a copolymer in which from about 30% to about 70% of R.sup.1, on a molar basis, is NF.sub.2 and the remainder of R.sup.1 is a member selected from the group consisting of H, NO.sub.2, ONO.sub.2, N(R.sup.2)NO.sub.2 and N.sub.3, where R.sup.2 is H or a lower alkyl; and
- x is an integer such that said copolymer has a weight average molecular weight ranging from about 5,000 to about 25,000.
- 8. A polymer in accordance with claim 1 in which:
- said polymer is a copolymer in which from about 30% to about 70% of R.sup.1, on a molar basis, is NF.sub.2 and the remainder of R.sup.1 is H; and
- x is an integer such that said copolymer has a weight average molecular weight ranging from about 5,000 to about 25,000.
