Claims
- 1. A system for image display comprising:
(a) a computer with a first modem located at a first location and connected via the modem to a communications network; (b) a remote color display device with a second modem and a controller, the remote color display located at a second location and capable of image display, the remote color display device connected to the communications network via the modem; (c) an internet website containing a database of image references for providing imagery to the computer; and (d) means for allowing selection of images from the database to be displayed on the remote color display.
- 2. A system for image display comprising:
(a) a remote color display device with a modem and a controller located at a first location and capable of image display, the remote color display device connected to the communications network via the modem; (b) an internet website containing a database of image references for providing imagery to the remote color display; and (c) means for allowing selection of images from the database to be displayed on the remote color display.
- 3. A system for image display as recited in claim 2 wherein:
the means for allowing selection is a computer with a connection to the internet website, the computer being located at a second location remote from the first location.
- 4. A system for image display as recited in claim 3 wherein:
the selected images are stored at the second location.
- 5. A system for image display as recited in claim 3 wherein:
the selected images are stored at a third location remote from both the first location and the second location.
- 6. A method for providing image display services comprising the steps of:
(a) storing a database of image references at an internet website; (b) providing a library of images referenced by the database; (c) accessing the database and images from a first remote location; (d) displaying the images at the first remote location on a remote color display device, the remote color display device having a modem and a controller and capable of image display, the remote color display being located at the first remote location and connected to the communications network via the modem.
- 7. A method as recited in claim 6 further comprising the step of:
allowing selection of image references to be made by a user at a second remote location.
- 8. A method as recited in claim 7 wherein:
the library is at the second remote location.
- 9. A method as recited in claim 7 wherein:
the library is at a third remote location.
- 10. A system as recited in claim 1 wherein:
the remote color display device includes local controls to manage the operation thereof.
- 11. A system as recited in claim 1 wherein:
the second modem is a wireless modem.
- 12. A system as recited in claim 1 wherein:
the remote color display device includes means to play an audio signal associated with a displayed image.
- 13. A system for image display comprising:
(a) a first remote color display device with a first modem and a controller located at a first location and capable of image storage and display, the first remote color display device connected to a communications network via the first modem; (b) a second remote color display device with a second modem and a controller located at a second location and capable of image storage and display, the second remote color display device connected to the communications network via the modem; (c) control means to transmit images from the first remote color display device to the second remote color device through the first and second modems and the communications network.
- 14. The system recited in claim 13 additionally comprising:
an internet website containing a database of images and image references for providing imagery to the first and second remote color displays and accessible from the first and second remote color displays.
- 15. The system recited in claim 13 additionally comprising:
a computer containing a database of images for providing imagery to the first and second remote color displays and accessible from the first and second remote color displays.
