Claims
- 1. A method for controlling phytopathogenic fungus which comprises applying a fungicidally effective amount of a compound of the formula ##STR90## wherein the compound is a six member ring and A is --CR.sup.2 .dbd.N--Z--;
- D is nitrogen;
- Q is an aromatic group selected from ##STR91## X is oxygen (O) or sulfur (S); Z is carbonyl (C.dbd.O), or thiocarbonyl (C.dbd.S); wherein
- (i) R.sup.1 is alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, cyanoalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, heterocyclylalkyl, phenyl, phenylalkyl, phenylcarbonyl, alkenyl, haloalkenyl, phenylalkenyl, alkynylalkenyl, alkynyl, haloalkynyl, phenylalkynyl, heterocyclyl, dialkynyl, heterocyclylalkynyl, cycloalkylalkynyl, alkenylalkynyl, hydzoxyalkynyl. alkoxyalkynyl, alkanoyloxyalkynyl, formylalkynyl, trialkylsilylalkynyl, trialkyltinalkynyl, haloalkenylalkynyl, carboxyalkynyl, or alkoxycarbonylalkynyl;
- R.sup.2 is hydrogen or halogen;
- R.sup.3 and R.sup.6 are independently hydrogen, alkoxy or halogen;
- R.sup.4 is hydrogen, halogen, alkoxy or nitro;
- R.sup.5 is hydrogen, halogen, nitro, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, haloalkyl, haloalkoxy, haloalkylthio, phenyl, phenoxy or cyano; or
- (ii) R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 together form a (C.sub.1 --C.sub.3)alkyl, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.3)alkylene or carbonyl link and R.sup.1, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, and R.sup.6 are as above;
- and agronomically acceptable salts thereof.
- 2. A method for controlling a fungal infection of a mammal which comprises applying to the fungus or its habitat a fungicidally effective amount of a compound of the formula ##STR92## wherein the compound is a six member ring and A is --CR.sup.2 .dbd.N--Z--;
- D is nitrogen;
- Q is an aromatic group selected from ##STR93## X is oxygen (O) or sulfur (S): Z is carbonyl (C.dbd.O), or thiocarbonyl (C.dbd.S); wherein
- (i) R.sup.1 is alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, cyanoalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, heterocyclylalkyl, phenyl, phenylalkyl, phenylcarbonyl, alkenyl, haloalkenyl, phenylalkenyl, alkynylalkenyl, alkynyl, haloalkynyl, phenylalkynyl, heterocyclyl, dialkynyl, heterocyclylalkynyl, cycloalkylalkynyl, alkenylalkynyl hydroxyalkynyl, alkoxyalkynyl, alkanoyloxyalkynyl, formylalkynyl, trialkylsilylalkynyl, trialkyltinalkynyl, haloalkenylalkynyl, carboxyalkynyl, or alkoxycarbonylalkynyl;
- R.sup.2 is hydrogen or halogen;
- R.sup.3 and R.sup.6 are independently hydrogen, alkoxy or halogen;
- R.sup.4 is hydrogen, halogen, alkoxy or nitro;
- R.sup.5 is hydrogen, halogen, nitro, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, haloalkyl, haloalkoxy, haloalkylthio, phenyl, phenoxy or cyano; or
- (ii) R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 together form a (C.sub.1 -C.sub.3)alkyl, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.3)alkylene or carbonyl link and R.sup.1, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, and R.sup.6 are as above;
- and agronomically acceptable salts thereof.
- 3. A method for preserving wood which comprises contacting the wood with a fungicidally effective amount of a compound of the formula ##STR94## wherein the compound is a six member ring and A is --CR.sup.2 .dbd.N--Z--;
- D is nitrogen;
- Q is an aromatic group selected from ##STR95## X is oxygen (O) or sulfur (S); Z is carbonyl (C.dbd.O), or thiocarbonyl (C.dbd.S); wherein
- (i) R.sup.1 is alkyl, hydroxyalkyl, cyanoalkyl, cycloalkylalkyl, heterocyclylalkyl, phenyl, phenylalkyl, phenylcarbonyl, alkenyl, haloalkenyl, phenylalkenyl, alkynylalkenyl, alkynyl, haloalkynyl, phenylalkynyl, heterocyclyl, dialkynyl, heterocyclylalkynyl, cycloalkylalkynyl, alkenylalkynyl, hydroxyalkynyl, alkoxyalkynyl, alkanoyloxyalkynyl, formylalkynyl, trialkylsilylalkynyl, trialkyltinalkynyl, haloalkenylalkynyl, carboxyalkynyl, or alkoxycarbonylalkynyl;
- R.sup.2 is hydrogen or halogen;
- R.sup.3 and R.sup.6 are independently hydrogen, alkoxy or halogen;
- R.sup.4 is hydrogen, halogen, alkoxy or nitro;
- R.sup.5 is hydrogen, halogen, nitro, alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, haloalkyl, haloalkoxy, haloalkylthio, phenyl, phenoxy or cyano; or
- (ii) R.sup.2 and R.sup.3 together form a (C.sub.1 -C.sub.3)alkyl, (C.sub.2 -C.sub.3)alkylene or carbonyl link and R.sup.1, R.sup.4, R.sup.5, and R.sup.6 are as above;
- and agronomically acceptable salts thereof.
