Claims
- 1. A compound of the formula: ##STR22## wherein each X is independently oxygen or sulfur and at least one of the substituents R.sub.1 -R.sub.6 is a group of the formula: ##STR23## wherein R.sub.7 is hydrocarbyl and each R.sub.8 is independently hydrogen or hydrocarbyl, and the members of R.sub.1 -R.sub.6 that are not groups of formula (II) are each independently hydrogen or hydrocarbyl.
- 2. The compound of claim 1 wherein R.sub.5 and R.sub.6 are independently hydrogen or hydrocarbyl, one member of R.sub.1 -R.sub.4 is a group of the formula: ##STR24## wherein R.sub.7 is an alkyl or alkenyl group of from about 4 to about 28 carbons and each R.sub.8 is hydrogen and the remaining members of R.sub.1 -R.sub.4 are each independently hydrogen or hydrocarbyl.
- 3. A method for preparing a compound of the formula: ##STR25## wherein each X is independently oxygen or sulfur and at least one of the substituents R.sub.1 -R.sub.6 is a group of the formula: ##STR26## wherein R.sub.7 is hydrocarbyl and each R.sub.8 is independently hydrogen or hydrocarbyl, and the members of R.sub.1 -R.sub.6 that are not groups of formula (II) are each independently hydrogen or hydrocarbyl, which method comprises reacting at least one isocyanate of the formula:
- R.sub.7 --N.dbd.C.dbd.O
- with a compound of the formula: ##STR27## wherein X is as defined hereinabove, wherein at least one member of R.sub.a -R.sub.f is a group of the formula: ##STR28## wherein each R.sub.8 is independently hydrogen or hydrocarbyl, and the remaining groups are hydrogen or hydrocarbyl.
- 4. The method of claim 3 wherein R.sub.7 is an alkeyl or alkenyl group of from about 4 to about 28 carbons, and R.sub.8 is hydrogen, R.sub.e and R.sub.f are independently hydrogen or hydrocarbyl, one member of R.sub.a -R.sub.d is a group of the formula:
- HO--CH.sub.2 --
- and the remaining members of R.sub.a -R.sub.d each independently hydrogen or hydrocarbyl.
- 5. A method for reducing fuel consumption in an internal combustion engine, which comprises lubricating said engine with a lubricating oil composition comprising a major amount of an oil of lubricating vicosity and a minor amount of an oil soluble or dispersible compound of the formula: ##STR29## wherein each X is independently oxygen of sulfur and the substituents R.sub.1 -R.sub.6 are each independently a member of the group consisting of ##STR30## wherein R.sub.7 is hydrocarbyl and each R.sub.8 is independently hydrogen or hydrocarbyl.
