The disclosure relates to dipping sauce devices and more particularly pertains to a new dipping sauce device for fully covering a chicken wing with dipping sauce. The device includes a container that has dimensions sufficient to contain a chicken wing and dipping sauce contained in the container. The container has a pour spout for pouring the dipping sauce. The device includes a lid hingedly coupled to the container and the lid has a lobed portion to accommodate the pour spout.
The prior art relates to dipping sauce devices including a pan having a channel sloping downwardly into base of the pan to facilitate a fluid to be poured into the channel for filling the pan. The prior art discloses a condiment cup that has a pour spout, a lid attached to the cup and a removable strip that covers the pour spout. The prior art discloses a sealable container that includes a lid and a dispensing port being integrated into the lid. The prior art discloses condiment container that includes a container, a sheet being attachable to the lid for closing the container and a tab extending away from the sheet for gripping. The prior art discloses an ornamental design for a condiment package that includes a container and a tear-away covering on the container.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a container for containing a dipping sauce. The container has pour spout for pouring the dipping sauce from the container. The container has dimensions sufficient to contain a chicken wing to facilitate the chicken wing to be fully submerged in the dipping sauce. A lid is provided and the lid is hingedly attached to the container. The lid is positionable in a closed position for closing the container and the lid is positionable in an open position for opening the container. Additionally, the lid has a lobed portion to accommodate the pour spout on the container when the lid is closed.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
The container 12 has a bottom wall 20 and an outer wall 22 extending upwardly from the bottom wall 20 and the outer wall 22 has a distal edge 24 with respect to the bottom wall 20 defining an opening 26 into the container 12. The outer wall 22 curls outwardly adjacent to the distal edge 24 to define a lip 28 extending around a full perimeter of the outer wall 22. The outer wall 22 has a front side 30 and the outer wall 22 has a rounded portion 32 curving outwardly from the front side 30 to define the pour spout 16. The rounded portion 32 extends from the lip 28 associated with the front side 30 toward the bottom wall 20. Furthermore, the rounded portion 32 is centrally positioned along the front side 30.
A lid 34 is provided and the lid 34 is hingedly attached to the container 12. The lid 34 is positionable in a closed position for closing the container 12. Conversely, the lid 34 is positionable in an open position for opening 26 the container 12. The lid 34 has a lobed portion 36 to accommodate the pour spout 16 on the container 12 when the lid 34 is closed.
The lid 34 has a top wall 38 and a perimeter wall 40 extending downwardly from the top wall 38. The lobed portion 36 curves outwardly from a forward edge 42 of the top wall 38 having the perimeter wall 40 curving around the lobed portion 36. Additionally, the lobed portion 36 is centrally positioned along the forward edge 42 and the lobed portion 36 is aligned with the pour spout 16. The perimeter wall 40 extends downwardly around the lip 28 on the outer wall 22 of the container 12 when the lid 34 is closed. The perimeter wall 40 of the lid 34 has a first lateral side 44. A hinge 46 is coupled between the lip 28 on a first lateral side 48 of the outer wall 22 of the container 12 and the first lateral side 44 of the perimeter wall 40 of the lid 34 thereby facilitating the lid 34 to hinge on the container 12.
In use, the lid 34 is opened and the chicken wing 18 is placed in the container 12 to fully submerge the chicken wing 18 in the dipping sauce 14. In this way the chicken wing 18 can be completely covered with the dipping sauce 14 to enhance the flavor of the chicken wing 18. Additionally, the dipping sauce 14 can be poured from the pour spout 16 to cover the chicken wing 18, or any other type of food item that is too large to fit into the container 12, with the dipping sauce 14. In this way the chicken wing 18 or other type of food item can be completely covered in the dipping sauce 14 to maximize the pleasure associated with eating the chicken wing 18 or other type of food item.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
