Claims
- 1. A nitronaniline dye compound of the formula (I):
- Q--NR.sub.6 (CH.sub.2).sub.n -N.sup.+ R.sub.1 R.sub.2 R.sub.3 X.sup.-
- or a cosmetically acceptable salt thereof, wherein
- Q is a nitrobenzene of the formula (II): ##STR12## n is 2 to 12; R is hydrogen, C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.1-6 hydroxyalkyl, C.sub.1-6 polyhydroxyalkyl, halogen, C.sub.1-6 alkoxy, halogenated C.sub.1-3 alkyl, polyhalogenated C.sub.1-3 alkyl, CN, CONH.sub.2, SO.sub.3 H, or COOH;
- R.sub.1 is C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.1-6 hydroxyalkyl, or C.sub.1-6 polyhydroxyalkyl;
- R.sub.2 is C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.1-6 hydroxyalkyl, or c.sub.1-6 polyhydroxyalkyl;
- R.sub.3 is a C.sub.8-22 aliphatic chain;
- R.sub.6 is hydrogen, C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.1-6 hydroxyalkyl, or C.sub.1-6 polyhydroxyalkyl; and
- X.sup.- is a monovalent or divalent anion.
- 2. The dye compound of claim 1 having the formula (IIa): ##STR13## or a cosmetically acceptable salt salts thereof, wherein R.sup.7 is hydrogen, C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.1-6 hydroxyalkyl, C.sub.1-6 polyhydroxyalkyl, halogen, halogenated alkyl, cyano, CONH.sub.2, COOH, or SO.sub.3 H;
- R.sup.8 is hydrogen, C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.1-6 hydroxyalkyl, or C.sub.1-6 polyhydroxyalkyl;
- A is C2-6 alkylene;
- R.sup.9 is C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.1-6 hydroxyalkyl, or C.sub.1-6 polyhydroxyalkyl;
- R.sup.10 is C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.1-6 hydroxyalkyl, or C.sub.1-6 polyhydroxyalkyl;
- R.sup.11 is a C.sub.8-22 aliphatic chain; and
- X.sup.- is a monovalent or divalent anion.
- 3. The dye compound of claim 2, wherein R.sup.9 and R.sup.10 are each selected from the group consisting of methyl, ethyl and hydroxyethyl.
- 4. The dye compound of claim 2, wherein X.sup.- is selected from the group consisting of halide, hydroxide and sulfate.
- 5. The dye compound of claim 2, having the formula (IIb): ##STR14## or a cosmetically acceptable salts thereof, wherein R.sup.7 is hydrogen or methyl;
- R.sup.8 is hydrogen or methyl;
- R.sup.9 is methyl or ethyl;
- R.sup.10 is methyl or ethyl;
- R.sup.11 is C.sub.8-22 alkyl; and
- X.sup.- is iodide, bromide, or chloride.
- 6. The dye compound of claim 5, wherein
- R.sup.7 is hydrogen, 4-methyl, or 5-methyl;
- R.sup.8 is hydrogen;
- R.sup.9 is methyl or ethyl;
- R.sup.10 is methyl or ethyl;
- R.sup.11 is C.sub.12-18 alkyl; and
- X.sup.- iodide or bromide.
- 7. A nitrophenylenediamine dye compound of the formula (I):
- Q--NR.sub.6 (CH.sub.2).sub.n -N.sup.+ R.sub.1 R.sub.2 R.sub.e X.sup.-
- or a cosmetically acceptable salts thereof, wherein
- Q is a nitroaniline of the formula (III): ##STR15## n is 2 to 12; R is hydrogen, C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.1-6 hydroxyalkyl, C.sub.1-6 polyhydroxyalkyl, halogen, C.sub.1-6 alkoxy, halogenated C.sub.1-3 alkyl, polyhalogenated C.sub.1-3 alkyl, CN, CONH.sub.2, SO.sub.3 H, or COOH;
- R.sub.1 is C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.1-6 hydroxyalkyl, or C.sub.1-6 polyhydroxyalkyl;
- R.sub.2 is C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.1-6 hydroxyalkyl, or C.sub.1-6 polyhydroxyalkyl;
- R.sub.3 is a C.sub.8-22 aliphatic chain;
- R.sub.4 and R.sub.5 are:
- independent of each other, hydrogen, C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.1-6 hydroxyalkyl, or C.sub.1-6 polyhydroxyalkyl, or together with N, a 5 or 6 member heterocyclic ring;
- R.sub.6 is hydrogen, C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.1-6 hydroxyalkyl, or C.sub.1-6 polyhydroxyalkyl; and
- X.sup.- is a monovalent or divalent anion.
- 8. A nitroaminophenol dye compound of the formula (I):
- Q--NR.sub.6 (CH.sub.2).sub.n -N.sup.+ R.sub.1 R.sub.2 R.sub.3 X.sup.-
- or a cosmetically acceptable salts thereof, wherein
- Q is a nitrophenol of the formula (IV): ##STR16## n is 2 to 12; R is hydrogen, C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.1-6 hydroxyalkyl, C.sub.1-6 polyhydroxyalkyl, halogen, C.sub.1-6 alkoxy, halogenated C.sub.1-3 alkyl, polyhalogenated C.sub.1-3 alkyl, CN, CONH.sub.2, SO.sub.3 H, or COOH;
- R.sub.1 is C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.1-6 hydroxyalkyl, or C.sub.1-6 polyhydroxyalkyl;
- R.sub.2 is C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.1-6 hydroxyalkyl, or C.sub.1-6 polyhydroxyalkyl;
- R.sub.3 is a C.sub.8-22 aliphatic chain;
- R.sub.6 is hydrogen, C.sub.1-6 alkyl, C.sub.1-6 hydroxyalkyl, or C.sub.1-6 polyhydroxyalkyl; and
- X.sup.- is a monovalent or divalent anion.
