Claims
- 1. A discontinuous film deposited onto skin, wherein said film is formed from the deposition onto said skin of a topical cosmetic composition, the composition comprising one or more particulate materials dispersed in a carrier comprising at least one liquid diluent, wherein upon deposition onto said skin the film has an average particle size of from about 0.5 to about 150 microns, an average spacing between particles of at least about 3 microns, and a coverage value of about 80% or less.
- 2. The film of claim 1 wherein the average particle size is from about 1 to about 100 microns.
- 3. The film of claim 1 wherein the average particle size is from about 5 to about 80 microns.
- 4. The film of claim 1 wherein the average spacing between particles is at least about 7 microns.
- 5. The film of claim 1 wherein the average spacing between particles is at least about 10 microns.
- 6. The film of claim 1 wherein the standard deviation for the average particle size is less than about 1.5 times the average particle size.
- 7. The film of claim 1 wherein the standard deviation for the average particle size is less than about 1.0 times the average particle size.
- 8. The film of claim 1 wherein the standard deviation for the average particle size is less than about 0.7 times the average particle size.
- 9. The film of claim 1 wherein the coverage value is less than about 70%.
- 10. The film of claim 1 wherein the coverage value is less than about 60%.
- 11. The film of claim 1 wherein the film is formed by passing the topical composition through a mesh.
- 12. The film of claim 1 wherein the topical cosmetic composition is a cosmetic foundation.
