Claims
- 1. A disk cartridge comprising:
a case accommodating a disk and having an opening; a cover installed at the case to be open and shut, and having an edge portion defining a hole formed therein open to an outside of the cover; a shutter movably installed on the case between the disk and the case to open/shut the opening formed on the case; and a clamping member installed at the cover to seal the hole and clamp the disk.
- 2. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 1, wherein the disk cartridge is inserted into a disk drive having a turntable rotating the disk, and the clamping member comprises:
a clamping holder contacting and supporting the edge portion of the hole of the cover; a magnetic body installed at the clamping holder to apply a magnetic attraction to the turntable of the disk drive; and a clamp cover sealing the hole and covering the clamping holder.
- 3. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 2, wherein the shutter comprises:
a protruding portion protruding from a major surface of the shutter to support a non-information area disposed on an outer circumference of the disk; and an inclined surface formed on the protrusion portion and inclined at a predetermined angle with respect to the disk so that, when the shutter is open, the disk is lowered along the inclined surface, and, when the shutter is closed, the disk is raised along the inclined surface to closely contact the cover.
- 4. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 1, wherein:
the case comprises,
a guide slot formed along a trace of a movement of the shutter; and the shutter comprises,
a support member inserted into the guide slot to slide along the guide slot so that an end portion of the support member is caught by a contact portion of the guide slot.
- 5. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 1, wherein the shutter comprises:
first and second shutter portions opening/shutting the opening while being closed or separated from each other; a coupling groove formed at one of the first and second shutter portions; and a coupling protrusion formed at the other one of the first and second shutter portions to be coupled to the coupling groove, so that, as the coupling protrusion and the coupling groove are coupled together, the coupling protrusion is inserted into the coupling groove.
- 6. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 1, wherein the case comprises:
a protrusion supporting a non-information area formed at an inner circumference of the disk when the disk is lowered along a surface of the shutter.
- 7. A disk cartridge comprising:
a case accommodating a disk and having an opening formed on a first surface of the case; a cover installed on a second surface of the case to be open and shut and seal the second surface of the case; a shutter installed between the disk and the first surface of the case to open/shut the opening of the case; and a clamping member installed on an inner surface of the cover to clamp the disk.
- 8. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 7, wherein the disk cartridge is inserted into a disk drive having a turntable rotating the disk, and the clamping member comprises:
a ring member installed on the inner surface of the cover; a clamping holder supporting an edge portion of the ring member; and a magnetic body installed at the clamping holder to apply a magnetic attraction to the turntable coupled to the disk through the opening of the case in the disk drive.
- 9. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 8, wherein the shutter comprises:
a protruding portion protruding to support a non-information area at an outer circumference of the disk; and an inclined surface formed on the protruding portion and inclined at a predetermined angle with respect to a major surface of the shutter so that, when the shutter is open, the disk is lowered along the inclined surface and, when the shutter is closed, the disk is raised along the inclined surface to closely contact an inner surface of the cover.
- 10. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 7, wherein:
the case comprises,
a guide slot formed along a trace of a movement of the shutter; and the shutter comprises,
a support member inserted into the guide slot to slide along the guide slot so that an end portion of the support member is caught by a contact portion of the guide slot.
- 11. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 7, wherein the shutter comprises:
first and second shutter portions opening/shutting the opening while being closed or separated from each other; a coupling groove formed at one of the first and second shutter portions; and a coupling protrusion formed at the other one of the first and second shutter portions and coupled to the coupling groove so that, as the coupling protrusion and the coupling groove are coupled together, the coupling protrusion is inserted into the coupling groove.
- 12. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 7, wherein the case comprises:
a protrusion supporting a non-information area formed at an inner circumference of the disk when the disk is lowered along a surface of the shutter.
- 13. A disk cartridge accommodating a disk, comprising:
a case having an opening formed on a first side of the case; a cover movably installed on the case to open/shut a second side of the case opposite to the first side of the case; a shutter installed on the case between the cover and the second side of the case to open/shut the opening of the first side of the case; and a clamping member installed at the cover to clamp the disk disposed between the cover and the shutter.
- 14. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 13, wherein the cover comprises a hole, and the clamping member seals the hole.
- 15. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 13, wherein the cover comprises:
a first portion having a first edge defining a first hole; a second portion having a second edge defining a second hole; and a space formed between the first portion and the second portion.
- 16. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 15, wherein the first hole communicates with the second hole through the space.
- 17. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 15, wherein the first hole is different from the second hole in area.
- 18. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 15, wherein the first hole is larger than the second hole in area.
- 19. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 15, wherein the clamp member is disposed in the space of the cover.
- 20. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 15, wherein the clamp member comprises:
a clamp cover contacting the first edge of the first portion to seal the first hole of the first layer; and a clamping holder disposed in the second hole of the second portion.
- 21. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 20, wherein the clamping holder comprises:
a center area portion disposed in the second hole of the second portion; and a rim portion disposed in the space.
- 22. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 21, wherein the center area portion of the clamping holder is smaller than the second hole of the second portion of the cover in area.
- 23. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 22, wherein the center area portion of the clamping holder is larger than a center opening of the disk.
- 24. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 21, wherein the rim portion of the clamping holder is larger than the first hole and the second hole of the second portion of the cover in diameter.
- 25. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 21, wherein the clamp member comprises:
a yoke disposed between the clamp cover and the clamping holder.
- 26. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 25, wherein the yoke is fixedly coupled to the clamping holder.
- 27. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 25, wherein the yoke and the clamping holder are installed to move in a first direction from the cover toward the shutter and in a second direction from the shutter to the cover.
- 28. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 25, wherein the yoke is larger than a center hole of the disk in area.
- 29. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 25, wherein the yoke is smaller than the second hole of the second portion of the cover in area.
- 30. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 13, wherein the cover comprises:
a first portion forming an exterior surface of the cover; and a second portion forming an interior surface of the cover to face the shutter, forming a space with the first portion, and having an edge portion defining a hole.
- 31. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 30, wherein the clamp member is disposed in the space.
- 32. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 30, wherein the clamp member comprises:
a ring member coupled to the second portion of the cover to define the hole.
- 33. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 30, wherein clamp member comprises:
a clamping holder movably disposed in the space; and a yoke coupled to the clamping holder.
- 34. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 33, wherein the clamping holder and the yoke are installed to move in a first direction from first portion of the cover toward the shutter and in a second direction from the shutter to the first portion of the cover.
- 35. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 33, wherein the clamping holder comprises:
a center area portion disposed in the hole of the second portion; and a rim portion disposed in the space.
- 36. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 35, wherein the center area portion of the clamping holder is smaller than the hole of the second portion of the cover in area.
- 37. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 35, wherein the center area portion of the clamping holder is larger than a center opening of the disk.
- 38. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 35, wherein the rim portion of the clamping holder is larger than the hole of the second portion of the cover in diameter.
- 39. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 35, wherein the yoke is larger than a center hole of the disk in area.
- 40. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 35, wherein the yoke is smaller than the rim portion of the clamping holder in diameter.
- 41. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 13, wherein the shutter comprises:
first and second shutter portions movably coupled the case to open/shut the opening of the case.
- 42. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 41, wherein shutter comprises:
first and second axles mounted on the case about which the first and second shutter portions rotate, respectively.
- 43. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 41, wherein the shutter comprises a connection portion formed between the first and second shutter portions, and the first shutter portion is rotated by the connection portion transmitting a movement of the second shutter portion to the first shutter portion.
- 44. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 41, wherein the first shutter portion has a first area, and the second shutter portion has a second area larger than the first area.
- 45. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 41, wherein each of the first and second shutter portions comprises:
an axle portion about which a corresponding one of the first and second shutter portions rotates; a center portion corresponding to a center hole of the disk; a first area portion disposed adjacent to the axle portion; and a second area portion disposed opposite to the axle portion with respect to the center portion.
- 46. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 45, wherein the first area portion of the first shutter portion is the same as that of the second shutter portion, and the second area portion of the first shutter portion is different from that of the second shutter.
- 47. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 45, wherein the first area portion of the first shutter portion meets the first area portion of the second shutter portion at a center line passing through the center portion and between the axle portions.
- 48. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 47, wherein the second area portion of the first shutter portion meets the second area portion of the second shutter portion at a line different from the center line.
- 49. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 41, wherein the first and second shutter portions are not symmetric.
- 50. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 41, wherein:
the first shutter portion comprises,
first protrusions protruding toward the cover and having first inclined surfaces inclined with respect to a major surface of the shutter; and the second shutter portion comprises,
second protrusions protruding toward the cover and having second inclined surfaces inclined with respect to the major surface of the shutter.
- 51. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 50, wherein the disk moves along the first and second inclined surfaces when the first and second shutter portions open/shut the opening of the case.
- 52. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 50, wherein the first protrusions of the first shutter portion are different from each other.
- 53. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 50, wherein the first inclined surfaces of the first protrusions of the first shutter portion are different in an angle formed with the major surface of the shutter.
- 54. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 50, wherein one of the first protrusions of the first shutter is the same as one of the second protrusions of the second shutter portion.
- 55. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 50, wherein one of the first protrusions of the first shutter is different from the second protrusions of the second shutter portion.
- 56. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 50, wherein the case comprises an axle portion about which the first and second shutter portions rotate, and one of the first protrusions disposed close to the axle portion is different from the other one of the first protrusions disposed opposite to the axle portion with respect to a center of the first shutter portion.
- 57. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 56, wherein the one of the first protrusions disposed close to the axle portion is larger than the other one of the first protrusions disposed opposite to the axle portion with respect to the center of the first shutter portion.
- 58. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 50, wherein the first and second protrusions are disposed in a circular direction from a center of the disk.
- 59. The disk cartridge as claimed in claim 50, wherein the first inclined surfaces of the first protrusions and the second surfaces of the second protrusions are inclined toward a line between the first and second shutter portions.
- 60. A disk player clamping and rotating a disk, comprising:
a disk cartridge having a case having an opening formed on a first side of the case, a cover movably installed on the case to open/shut a second side of the case opposite to the first side of the case, a shutter installed on the case between the cover and the second side of the case to open/shut the opening of the first side of the case, and a clamping member installed at the cover to clamp the disk disposed between the cover and the shutter; an opening lever opening/shutting the shutter to open/shut the opening of the case when the disk cartridge is inserted into or removed from the disk player; and a turntable inserted into the opening of the case when the shutter is opened by the opening lever, and clamping the disk with the clamping member to rotate the disk.
- 61. A method in a disk player clamping and rotating a disk, the method comprising:
receiving a disk cartridge including a case having an opening formed on a first side of the case, a cover movably installed on the case to open/shut a second side of the case opposite to the first side of the case, a shutter installed on the case between the cover and the second side of the case to open/shut the opening of the first side of the case, and a clamping member installed at the cover to clamp the disk disposed between the cover and the shutter; opening/shutting the shutter to open/shut the opening of the case using an opening lever when the disk cartridge is inserted into or removed from the disk player; inserting a turntable toward the clamping member through the opening of the case when the shutter is opened by the opening lever; and clamping the disk using the clamping member and the turntable to rotate the disk.
- 62. The method of claim 61, wherein the shutter of the disk cartridge comprises first and second shutter portions moving to open/shut the opening of the case, and the opening/shutting of the shutter comprises:
moving the first and second shutter portions at the same angle with respect to a line at which the first and second shutter portions meet.
- 63. The method of claim 61, wherein the shutter of the disk cartridge comprises first and second shutter portions moving to open/shut the opening of the case, and the opening/shutting of the shutter comprises:
moving the first and second shutter portions in opposite directions.
- 64. The method of claim 61, wherein the shutter of the disk cartridge comprises protrusions having inclined surfaces, and the opening/shutting of the shutter comprises:
causing the disk to descend/ascend along the inclined surfaces of the protrusions.
- 65. The method of claim 64, wherein the causing of the disk to descend/ascend comprises:
moving the disk in a direction between the cover and a major surface of the shutter while maintaining the disk parallel to one of the shutter and the first side of the case.
- 66. The method of claim 61, wherein the clamping member comprises a yoke, and the clamping of the disk comprises:
clamping the disk using an attraction force generated between the yoke and the turntable.
- 67. The method of claim 61, wherein the cover comprises a first portion, a second portion, and a space formed between the first and second portions, and the clamping of the disk comprises:
causing the clamping member to move within the space in a direction perpendicular to the disk.
