Claims
- 1. A dispenser for holding and dispensing a fill material into a divot hole on a golf course, the dispenser comprising:
a container; a spout releasably attached to an end of the container, the spout having an opening offset from a centerline of the container through which the fill material flows out of the dispenser; and a baffle in an interior of the dispenser for dispersing the fill material contained in the dispenser as the dispenser is shaken.
- 2. The dispenser of claim 1 wherein the baffle comprises an upper baffle formed in the spout opposite the opening.
- 3. The dispenser of claim 2 wherein the upper baffle is a planar member arranged vertically along a longitudinal axis of the dispenser.
- 4. The dispenser of claim 2 wherein the upper baffle is formed monolithically with the spout.
- 5. The dispenser of claim 1 wherein the dispersing means comprises a lower baffle formed on an interior wall of the container.
- 6. The dispenser of claim 5 wherein the lower baffle is a planar member arranged vertically along a longitudinal axis of the dispenser.
- 7. The dispenser of claim 5 wherein the lower baffle is arranged on the interior wall of the container on the same side as the spout opening.
- 8. The dispenser of claim 5 wherein the lower baffle is formed monolithically with the container.
- 9. The dispenser of claim 1 wherein the dispersing means includes an upper baffle formed in the spout and a lower baffle formed in the container and the upper and lower baffles are arranged on opposite interior surfaces in the dispenser.
- 10. The dispenser of claim 1 wherein a bottom of the container is formed with a channel adjacent a wall of the container for receiving any moisture entrained in the fill material when the dispenser is positioned in its vertically upright position with the fill material received in the container.
- 11. A method comprising:
providing a dispenser for holding and dispensing a fill material into a divot hole on a golf course wherein the dispenser comprises a container, a spout releasably attached to an end of the container, the spout having an opening offset from a centerline of the container through which the fill material flows out of the dispenser, and an indicia area on an exterior surface of the dispenser; providing a desired indicia on the indicia area; and displaying the indicia in a manner where it is visible during use of the dispenser.
- 12. The method of claim 11 wherein the step of displaying the indicia includes positioning the indicia in the indicia area such that it is visible from a top and sides of the dispenser.
- 13. The method of claim 12 further comprising providing a holder for releasably attaching the dispenser to a golf car wherein the holder has a sleeve adapted to engage with a portion of the dispenser exterior surface thereby restricting movement of the dispenser when the holder receives the dispenser in releasably attaching the dispenser to the golf car; the step of providing a desired indicia includes arranging the indicia in the indicia area such that the indicia is visible from the top and sides of the dispenser when the dispenser is received in the holder sleeve.
- 14. A dispenser for holding and dispensing a fill material into a divot hole on a golf course, the dispenser comprising a container, a spout releasably attached to an end of the container, the spout having an opening offset from a centerline of the container through which the fill material flows out of the dispenser, and an indicia area on an exterior surface of the dispenser, the indicia area having a desired indicia thereon that is visible from a top and sides of the dispenser.
- 15. The dispenser of claim 14 wherein the indicia includes personalized information.
- 16. The dispenser of claim 14 wherein the indicia includes commercial advertising.
- 17. The dispenser of claim 14 wherein the indicia includes golf course information.
- 18. A holder for holding a dispenser used for dispensing a fill material into a divot hole on a golf course, the holder being adapted to attach to a structure of a golf car and comprising a sleeve with protrusions spaced about an interior surface of the sleeve, the protrusions engaging an exterior surface of the dispenser in a manner to create a space between the dispenser exterior surface and the sleeve interior surface while restricting movement of the dispenser when the dispenser is slidingly received in the holder.
- 19. The holder of claim 18 wherein the protrusions comprise a plurality of rib members extending along a longitudinal axis of the sleeve.
- 20. The holder of claim 19 wherein the rib members are spaced about the sleeve interior surface to center the dispenser in the sleeve when the dispenser is slidingly received in the holder.
- 21. The holder of claim 18 wherein the sleeve has a closed bottom for supporting a portion of the dispenser exterior surface and at least one hole through the closed bottom, the at least one hole is aligned in communication with the space between the sleeve interior surface and the dispenser exterior surface when the dispenser is slidingly received in the holder.
- 22. The holder of claim 18 wherein the sleeve is formed with a slot extending along its longitudinal axis, the slot slidingly receives a handle of the dispenser when the dispenser is slidingly received in the holder.
- 23. A holder for releasably attaching a dispenser to a support post of a golf car wherein the dispenser is used for dispensing a fill material into a divot hole on a golf course, the holder comprising:
a sleeve having an interior surface adapted to engage with an exterior surface of the dispenser thereby restricting movement of the dispenser when the holder receives the dispenser in releasably attaching the dispenser to the golf car, the sleeve having a mounting surface on its exterior surface adapted to permit mounting the holder to the support post in one of a variety of selected positions of the holder relative to the support post without alteration of the sleeve mounting surface or support post.
- 24. The holder of claim 23 wherein the mounting surface comprises a plurality of holes arranged about the sleeve exterior surface.
- 25. The holder of claim 24 wherein the holes are arranged in a preselected pattern to permit aligning the holder to the support post in several positions of the holder relative to the support post without alteration of the sleeve mounting surface or support post.
- 26. The holder of claim 25 wherein the sleeve has a generally rectilinear cross section with opposite left and right side panels spaced apart by opposite front and back panels and each of the left side, right side, and back panels is formed with at least one hole pattern.
- 27. The holder of claim 26 wherein the front panel has a slot extending along a longitudinal axis of the sleeve, the slot slidingly receives a handle of the dispenser.
- 28. The holder of claim 25 wherein the mounting surface comprises two hole patterns arranged on opposite sides of a longitudinal centerline of the mounting surface.
- 29. The holder of claim 25 wherein the sleeve interior surface includes protrusions that engage the dispenser exterior surface in a manner whereby a space is formed between the dispenser and the sleeve interior surface when the dispenser is received in the sleeve, the space is adapted to receive a mechanical fastener therein in mounting the holder to the support post.
- 30. The holder of claim 29 wherein the mechanical fastener includes a mounting plate adapted to be operably attached to the support post.
- 31. The holder of claim 30 wherein the space comprises a plurality of spaces about the sleeve interior surface adapted to receive the mounting plate.
- 32. The holder of claim 25 wherein the sleeve has a lip around a peripheral edge of its open end adjacent the mounting surface and a notch is formed in the lip to accommodate the support post in mounting the holder to the support post.
- 33. The holder of claim 32 wherein the notch is centered relative to the mounting surface.
- 34. The holder of claim 32 wherein the notch is centered relative to the preselected hole patterns.
- 35. The combination of a holder for holding a dispenser used for holding and dispensing a fill material into a divot hole on a golf course and a mounting plate for operably attaching the holder to a support post of a golf car, the combination comprising:
the holder comprising a sleeve with protrusions spaced about an interior surface of the sleeve being adapted to engage an exterior surface of the dispenser in a manner to create a space between the dispenser exterior surface and the sleeve interior surface while restricting movement of the dispenser when the dispenser is slidingly received in the holder; and the mounting plate comprising an elongate member dimensioned to fit in the space between the dispenser exterior surface and the sleeve interior surface when the dispenser is received in the holder, the mounting plate having a stud extending therefrom that passes through a hole of the sleeve in operably attaching the holder to the golf car support post.
- 36. The combination of claim 35 wherein the mounting plate abuts against at least one of the protrusions when the bracket is received in the space and the stud passes through the sleeve hole.
- 37. The combination of claim 36 wherein the space comprises a plurality of spaces about the sleeve interior and the sleeve is provided with a plurality of holes about its exterior surface and the mounting plate fits in any one of the spaces when the dispenser is received in the holder thereby permitting the holder to mounted to the support post in a variety of preselected positions of the holder relative to the support post without alteration of the sleeve mounting surface, the mounting plate or the support post.
- 38. The combination of claim 35 wherein the sleeve has a closed bottom for supporting a portion of the dispenser exterior surface with at least one hole arranged intermediate the protrusions whereby the hole is in communication with the space when the dispenser is received in the holder.
- 39. The combination of a holder for holding a dispenser used for dispensing a fill material into a divot hole on a golf course and a bracket for operably attaching the holder to a support post of a golf car, the combination comprising:
the holder comprising a sleeve having an interior surface in which the dispenser is releasably secured; and the bracket comprising an elongate member having a first end adapted to mount to an exterior mounting surface of the holder sleeve and a second end adapted to mount to the support post of the golf cart, the second end having a clamp for securing the bracket to the support post, both the elongate member second end and the clamp being shaped to conform to the support post.
- 40. The combination of claim 39 wherein the elongate member second end fits around a majority of a perimeter of the support post when the bracket is mounted to the golf cart.
- 41. The combination of claim 40 wherein the clamp is shaped to conform to a remaining portion of the support post perimeter when the bracket is mounted to the golf cart.
- 42. The combination of claim 39 wherein the elongate member first end is formed with a hole to receive a mounting stud of the sleeve exterior mounting surface in attaching the bracket to the support post of the golf cart.
- 43. The combination of claim 42 wherein the elongate member second end has a mechanical fastener integrally formed therewith to couple with the clamp in attaching the bracket to the support post of the golf cart.
- 44. The combination of claim 43 wherein the clamp has opposite first and second ends each having a hole, the clamp first end hole aligns with the elongate member first end hole to receive the sleeve mounting stud and the clamp second end hole receives the mechanical fastener of the elongate member second end in attaching the bracket to the support post of the golf cart.
- 45. The combination of claim 39 wherein the sleeve mounting surface has two mounting studs spaced apart from each other on opposite sides of the mounting surface and the elongate member first end spans across the mounting surface to engage the two mounting studs in coupling the bracket to the holder sleeve.
- 46. A bracket for securing a golf accessory to a golf cart, the bracket comprising:
a strap having a base with first and second legs extending outward from base, the first leg being smaller in length than the second leg and having a mechanical fastener integrally formed therewith extending outward perpendicularly from the first leg in a direction away from the second leg, the second leg having a fastener hole on its end opposite the base; and a clamp having opposite first and second ends each with a hole, one of the clamp end holes is dimensioned to receive the threaded fastener of the strap first leg and the other of the clamp end holes aligns with the strap second leg hole when the one clamp end hole receives the strap first leg threaded fastener.
- 47. The bracket of claim 46 wherein the strap second leg fastener hole and the other of the clamp end holes is dimensioned to a receive a mechanical fastener of a golf accessory when attaching the golf accessory to the bracket.
- 48. The bracket of claim 47 wherein the strap second leg includes a second fastener hole spaced from the second leg first fastener hole and the second fastener hole is dimensioned to a receive a second mechanical fastener of the golf accessory when attaching the golf accessory to the bracket.
- 49. A kit comprising:
a dispenser for holding and dispensing a fill material into a divot hole on a golf course, the dispenser comprising a container, a spout releasably attached to an end of the container, the spout having an opening offset from a centerline of the container through which the fill material flows out of the dispenser; a holder for releasably attaching the dispenser to a golf car, the holder comprising a sleeve having an interior surface adapted to engage with an exterior surface of the dispenser thereby restricting movement of the dispenser when the holder receives the dispenser, the sleeve having a mounting surface on its exterior surface adapted to permit mounting the holder to the support post in one of a variety of selected positions of the holder relative to the support post without alteration of the sleeve mounting surface or support post; and at least one bracket for mounting the holder to a support post of the golf car in releasably attaching the dispenser to the golf car, the bracket having a channel for receiving the golf car support post, the channel conforming to a portion of a perimeter of an exterior of the support post.
- 50. The kit of claim 49 wherein the holder has protrusions spaced about an interior surface of the holder sleeve, the protrusions engage the dispenser exterior surface in a manner to create a space between the dispenser exterior surface and the sleeve interior surface while restricting movement of the dispenser when the dispenser is slidingly received in the holder; and the kit further comprises a mounting plate comprising an elongate member dimensioned to fit in the space between the dispenser exterior surface and the sleeve interior surface when the dispenser is received in the holder, the mounting plate having a stud extending therefrom that passes through a hole of the sleeve and engages with the bracket in attaching the holder to the support of the golf car.
- 51. The kit of claim 50 wherein the at least one bracket comprises:
a base with first and second legs extending outward from base, the first leg is smaller in length than the second leg and has a mechanical fastener integrally formed therewith extending outward perpendicularly therefrom in a direction away from the second leg, the second leg has a fastener hole on its end opposite the base; and a clamp having opposite first and second ends each with a hole, one of the clamp end holes is dimensioned to receive the threaded fastener of the first leg and the other of the clamp end holes aligns with the second leg hole when the one clamp end hole receives the first leg threaded fastener in attaching the holder to the support of the golf car.
