Claims
- 1. Locking apparatus for securing a cover of a dispenser which includes a base mounting plate and a cover pivotally attached thereto for movement between open and closed positions with respect thereto, the locking apparatus comprising:
- a) latch means secured to the mounting plate and movable between a position of engagement with the cover and a position out of engagement with the cover; and
- b) the cover and the mounting plate being pivotally interconnected such that the cover may move parallelly to the plane of the mounting plate and pivotally relatively of the mounting plate upon movement of said latch means to its position out of engagement with the cover.
- 2. The locking apparatus of claim 1 wherein said latch means include a latch body hingedly attached to the mounting plate and movable relatively thereof into and out of locking engagement with the cover.
- 3. The locking apparatus of claim 1 wherein the cover and the base mounting plate each have upper and lower ends and are pivotally interconnected adjacent their respective lower ends; and said latch means are disposed adjacent said upper ends of the cover and the base mounting plate.
- 4. The locking apparatus of claim 3 wherein secondary locking means are disposed adjacent the upper ends of each of the cover and the base mountin plate for releasable locking engagement therebetween.
- 5. The locking apparatus of claim 1 wherein said latch means are accessible when the cover is in closed position with respect to the base mounting plate.
- 6. The locking apparatus of claim 1 wherein said latch means include a lever engagable by the user for moving said latch means into and out of locking engagement with the cover.
- 7. An improved dispenser having a base mounting plate, a cover pivotally attached to the base mounting plate for movement between covering and uncovering relationship with the base mounting plate and means carried by the base mounting plate for receipt of a container for the material to be dispensed, the dispenser comprising:
- a) latch means secured to the base mounting plate and movable between a position of engagement with the cover and a position out of engagement with the cover;
- b) the cover and the mounting plate being pivotally interconnected such that the cover may move longitudinally and pivotaly relatively of the mounting plate upon movement of said latch means to its position out of engagement with the cover; and
- c) the cover including a transparent window occupying a substantial area thereof whereby a substantial portion of the container may be observed when the cover is in covering relationship with the base mounting plate.
