Claims
- 1. A dispenser cap for discharging measured amounts of contents from a container comprising:
- a first peripheral skirt having upper and lower portions, said lower portion provided with interior surface means for securing the cap to a container, said upper portion at least partially defining a dispensing chamber, wherein said upper and lower portions of said first peripheral skirt are separated by a weir panel, said weir panel configured to provide a weir opening between said upper and lower portions, said weir opening defined by a straight weir edge and an arcuate portion of said peripheral skirt; and
- a top including a second peripheral skirt telescoped over and secured to said first peripheral skirt, wherein said first and second peripheral skirts have alignable first and second respective discharge apertures formed therein, said first discharge aperture in said first peripheral skirt diametrically opposed to said weir opening.
- 2. The dispenser cap of claim 1 wherein volumetric indicia are provided on said top.
- 3. The dispenser cap of claim 1 wherein said first and second peripheral skirts have alignable first and second respective vent apertures formed therein, said first and second vent apertures being diametrically opposed to the respective first and second discharge apertures.
- 4. The dispenser cap of claim 1 wherein said first discharge aperture and said first vent aperture are located adjacent an upper end of the upper portion of the first peripheral skirt.
- 5. The dispenser cap of claim 4 wherein said weir panel is substantially inclined between said weir opening and said first discharge aperture.
- 6. The dispenser cap of claim 1 wherein said weir panel extends substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the cap.
- 7. The dispenser cap of claim 1 wherein said weir panel is formed with a deflector plate extending downwardly from an edge of said weir opening.
- 8. A dispenser cap for discharging measured amounts of contents from a container comprising:
- a first peripheral skirt having upper and lower portions, said lower portion provided with interior surface means for securing the cap to a container, said upper portion at least partially defining a dispensing chamber, wherein said upper and lower portions of said first peripheral skirt are separated by a weir panel, said weir panel configured to provide a weir opening between said upper and lower portions; and
- a top including a second peripheral skirt telescoped over and secured to said first peripheral skirt, wherein said first and second peripheral skirts have alignable first and second respective discharge apertures formed therein, said first discharge aperture in said first peripheral skirt diametrically opposed to said weir opening;
- wherein said weir panel extends substantially perpendicular to a longitudinal axis of the cap; and
- wherein said top is rotatable relative to said first peripheral skirt and wherein a shaft extends between said top and said weir panel, substantially coincident with said longitudinal axis, and further wherein a planar paddle is secured to said shaft, and is arranged to slidably engage said weir panel and to open and close said weir opening upon rotation of said top relative to said first peripheral skirt.
- 9. The dispenser cap of claim 8 wherein said paddle is located in diametrically opposed relationship to said second discharge aperture so that, when said first and second discharge apertures are aligned, said weir opening is closed.
- 10. The dispenser cap of claim 8 wherein said weir panel is provided with a bearing recess for said shaft.
