The disclosure relates to dispensing devices and more particularly pertains to a new dispensing device for dispensing dry bait.
An embodiment of the disclosure meets the needs presented above by generally comprising a first tube that comprises a top, a bottom and a wall. The top is open and the bottom is closed. The wall extends from the bottom to the top defining an interior space.
An opening is positioned in the wall proximate to the bottom. A closure is coupled to the wall and is positioned to reversibly cover the opening. A partition is positioned in the interior space and coupled to the wall proximate to a lower edge of the opening. The device comprises a plug that is complementary to the top. The top is configured such that items are insertable into the interior space. The plug is insertable into the top to contain the items. The closure is positioned in the wall such that the items are accessible to a user through the opening.
There has thus been outlined, rather broadly, the more important features of the disclosure in order that the detailed description thereof that follows may be better understood, and in order that the present contribution to the art may be better appreciated. There are additional features of the disclosure that will be described hereinafter and which will form the subject matter of the claims appended hereto.
The objects of the disclosure, along with the various features of novelty which characterize the disclosure, are pointed out with particularity in the claims annexed to and forming a part of this disclosure.
The disclosure will be better understood and objects other than those set forth above will become apparent when consideration is given to the following detailed description thereof. Such description makes reference to the annexed drawings wherein:
With reference now to the drawings, and in particular to
As best illustrated in
An opening 24, preferably ovally shaped, is positioned in the wall 18 proximate to the bottom 16. A closure 26 is coupled to the wall 18 and is positioned to reversibly cover the opening 24. Preferably, the closure 26 comprises a second tube 28 that is dimensionally wider than the first tube 12. The second tube 28 is positionable over the first tube 12 to contact the rim 20 of the bottom 16. The second tube 28 is reversibly positionable over the opening 24 by sliding the second tube 28 relative to the first tube 12.
A partition 30 is positioned in the interior space 22 and coupled to the wall 18 proximate to a lower edge 32 of the opening 24. Preferably, the partition 30 extends upwardly from proximate to the lower edge 32 of the opening 24, defining a ramp 34. Items placed in the interior space 22 are directed down the ramp 34 to the opening 24 when the first tube 12 is in a substantially upright position. More preferably, the ramp 34 is positioned at forty five degrees relative to the wall 18. Preferably, the first tube 12 and the closure 26 comprise plastic. More preferably, the first tube 12 and the closure 26 comprise polyvinylchloride.
The device 10 comprises a plug 36 that is complementary to the top 14. The plug 36 has an upper face 38 and a lower face 40, which preferably are substantially circularly shaped. Preferably, the plug 36 comprises rubber. A stop 42 may be coupled to and extend from a side surface 44 of the plug 36. The stop 42 is positioned to contact the wall 18 of the first tube 12 as the plug 36 is inserted into the top 14 of the first tube 12. Preferably, the stop 42 is coupled to the plug 36 substantially equally distant from the upper face 38 and the lower face 40.
The device 10 also comprises a cord 46, which defines a loop 48. The loop 48 is configured for placement over a user's head and positioning around the user's neck. Preferably, the cord 46 comprises a lanyard 50. Also preferably, the lanyard 50 comprises parachute cord. A coupler 52 is coupled to the plug 36. The coupler 52 is configured to couple to the cord 46. Preferably, the coupler 52 comprises a penetration 54 that is positioned through the plug 36 proximate to the upper face 38 of the plug 36.
An indicator 56 is coupled to the rim 20 of the bottom 16 and is substantially aligned with the opening 24. The indicator 56 is positioned on the rim 20 such that the user is able to identify the position of the opening 24 prior to opening the closure 26. Preferably, the indicator 56 comprises a mark 58 that is contrasting in color to the rim 20.
In use, the top 14 is positioned such that items, such as dry fish bait, are insertable into the interior space 22. The lowermost item contacts the ramp 34 and is directed to the opening 24. The plug 36 is insertable into the top 14 to contain the items. The loop 48 is positionable around a user's neck for transport. The second tube 28 is positioned around the first tube 12 such that the items are accessible as needed to the user through the opening 24 by sliding the second tube 28 upward relative to the first tube 12.
With respect to the above description then, it is to be realized that the optimum dimensional relationships for the parts of an embodiment enabled by the disclosure, to include variations in size, materials, shape, form, function and manner of operation, assembly and use, are deemed readily apparent and obvious to one skilled in the art, and all equivalent relationships to those illustrated in the drawings and described in the specification are intended to be encompassed by an embodiment of the disclosure.
Therefore, the foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the disclosure. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the disclosure to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the disclosure. In this patent document, the word “comprising” is used in its non-limiting sense to mean that items following the word are included, but items not specifically mentioned are not excluded. A reference to an element by the indefinite article “a” does not exclude the possibility that more than one of the element is present, unless the context clearly requires that there be only one of the elements.
