Claims
- 1. A dye of formula ##STR10## wherein R is cyano, R.sub.1 is chloro or bromo, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are each independently of the other methyl or ethyl, R.sub.4 is methyl or ethyl, R.sub.5 is methyl, and R.sub.6 is methyl or ethyl.
- 2. A dye according to claim 1, wherein R.sub.1 is chloro.
- 3. A dye according to claim 1, wherein R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are both methyl.
- 4. A dye according to claim 1, wherein R.sub.4 and R.sub.6 are methyl.
- 5. A dye according to claim 1, wherein R.sub.4 is methyl and R.sub.6 is ethyl.
- 6. A dye according to claim 1, wherein R.sub.1 is chloro and R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4 and R.sub.6 are methyl.
- 7. A process for the preparation of a dye of formula (1) as claimed in claim 1, which comprises diazotising a compound of formula ##STR11## and coupling the diazonium compound so obtained to a coupling component of formula ##STR12## wherein R is cyano, R.sub.1 is chloro or bromo, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are each independently of the other methyl or ethyl, R.sub.4 is methyl or ethyl, R.sub.5 is methyl, and R.sub.6 is methyl or ethyl.
- 8. A process for dyeing or printing semi-synthetic or synthetic hydrophobic fibre material, which comprises applying to, or incorporating into, the material a tinctoriallly effective amount of one or more than one dye according to claim 1.
- 9. A process according to claim 8, wherein the hydrophobic material consists of polyester fibres.
- 10. The material dyed or printed according to claim 8.
- 11. A dye formulation, which comprises
- a) as dye component 30 to 50% by weight, based on the total weight of the dye formulation, of a dye of formula R OR ##STR13## wherein R is cyano, R.sub.1 is chloro or bromo, R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 are each independently of the other methyl or ethyl, R.sub.4 is methyl or ethyl, R.sub.5 is methyl, and R.sub.6 is methyl or ethyl, and
- b) 50 to 70% by weight, based on the total weight of the dye composition, of a dispersant.
