Claims
- 1. A display article for displaying an item, the display article comprising:
one of a magnetic and magnet attractive material disposed such that the material defines an area; a nonmagnetic and nonmagnet attractive substrate for the material, the material allowing the item comprising a magnet or magnet attractive device to be secured thereto, the material being deposited on the nonmagnetic and nonmagnet attractive substrate so as to form a composite article whereby the item to be displayed is securable to the composite article by magnetic attraction of the magnet or magnet attractive device to the one of a magnetic and magnet attractive material deposited on the substrate, the magnetic attraction being accomplished solely by the magnetic attraction between the one of the magnetic and magnet attractive material deposited on the substrate and the magnet or magnet attractive device; wherein the one of the magnetic and magnet attractive material comprises a particulate disposed in a flexible binder material, the particulate being a magnetic or magnet attractive material, and further wherein the material and the substrate are permeable to a pushpin, whereby an item to be displayed can be secured to the composite article by at least one of a pushpin and a magnet or magnet attractive device.
- 2. The display article of claim 1, wherein the one of a magnetic and magnet attractive material comprises a ferromagnetic or magnetic material.
- 3. The display article of claim 1, wherein the one of a magnetic and magnet attractive material comprises a magnet attractive material.
- 4. The display article of claim 1, wherein the substrate comprises one of a woven and nonwoven material.
- 5. The display article of claim 4, wherein the substrate comprises a first thin flexible sheet.
- 6. The display article of claim 5, further comprising a second thin flexible sheet disposed on the magnetic or magnet attractive material whereby the magnetic or magnet attractive material is laminated between the first and second thin flexible sheets.
- 7. The display article of claim 6, wherein the display article is useful as a wall covering.
- 8. The display article of claim 1, wherein the one of a magnetic and magnet attractive material is embedded in the substrate at the surface of the substrate.
- 9. The display article of claim 1, wherein the one of a magnetic and magnet attractive material is disposed such that it is even with the surface of the substrate.
- 10. The display article of claim 1, wherein the one of a magnetic and magnet attractive material is visible in the substrate.
- 11. The display article of claim 1, wherein the one of a magnetic and magnet attractive material is not visible in the substrate.
- 12. A display article for displaying an item, the display article comprising:
one of a magnetic and magnet attractive material disposed such that the material defines an area; a substrate for the material, the material allowing the item comprising a magnet or magnet attractive device to be secured thereto, the material being integrally embedded in the substrate so as to form a composite article whereby the item to be displayed is securable to the composite article by magnetic attraction of the magnet or magnet attractive device to the one of a magnetic and magnet attractive material embedded in the substrate, the magnetic attraction being accomplished solely by the magnetic attraction between the one of the magnetic and magnet attractive material embedded in the substrate and the magnet or magnet attractive device, wherein the substrate is permeable to a pushpin, whereby an item to be displayed can be secured to the composite article by at least one of a pushpin and a magnet or magnet attractive device, wherein the one of a magnetic and magnet attractive material comprises strands of magnetic or magnet attractive material woven into a fabric.
- 13. The display article of claim 12, wherein the substrate comprises a resin or gel material.
- 14. A modular display board design comprising:
a plurality of display boards, each display board having an area defined by a border, the area being suitable for display of objects thereon, each board having a fastener attached thereto along the border for allowing the boards to be releasably coupled to each other directly by the fastener so that the boards can cover a desired area, the fastener being provided on a side of the border disposed perpendicularly to the area.
- 15. The modular display board design of claim 14, wherein the fastener comprises one of a screw, bolt or clip.
- 16. The modular display board design of claim 14, wherein the fastener comprises one of a magnet and a magnet attractive object.
- 17. The modular display board design of claim 14, wherein the fastener is visible.
- 18. The modular display board design of claim 14, wherein the fastener is not visible.
- 19. The modular display board design of claim 14, wherein each board has one of a rectangular, square or irregular shape.
- 20. The modular display board design of claim 14, wherein the display area of each board is suitable for at least one of pushpin and magnetic securement of an object to be displayed.
- 21. The modular display board design of claim 14, wherein the border comprises a frame.
- 22. The modular display board design of claim 14, wherein the border is frameless.
